To start I was born in Latvia. I lived in the United States my entire life and recently traveled to visit Riga to check out my birthplace. The experience I had was not what I expected at all. I was told it was a cultural difference between the United States and Latvia but I found most Latvians don’t appreciate it when you attempt to speak the language. And get frustrated when you don’t know the language. Most you can do is try to speak the language. In my attempts to learn and speak the language I experienced it was better to not try and speak the language at all. I was met with a rudeness and disapproving attitude most of the time. People were not helpful when you needed directions or assistance at all to navigate anywhere in Riga. I really wanted to experience my birth countries culture but sadly was just disappointed with the locals. I can understand if that’s just a cultural thing. But when the country wants to expand in tourism wouldn’t they want to be a little more friendly to encourage people to travel? Just a thought.

Internship season is coming and as a 4th year educ student, I'm torn kung anong school ang pipiliin ko out of the partner schools ng university ko kung saan ako mag iinternship. My top 2 picks are St. Paul College of Makati or Colegio San Agustin Makati. Both of them are my top picks kasi I've spent the majority of my years in a catholic school so more or less alam ko na yung culture nila doon. I've experienced my FS 1 in a public school and yung FS 2 ko naman sa laboratory school in my university. I'm weighing out the pros and cons kung anong school pipiliin ko among the two. Location wise, di hamak na mas madaling puntahan ng commuter na tulad ko ang SPCM. Ang alam ko nasa loob ng Dasmariñas Village ang CSA so mahirap talagang puntahan but based on recommendations ng professors ko, sa CSA may chance na maabsorb ako if ever na magustuhan nila ako. I asked my seniors na nag internship sa SPCM if nag aabsorb sila ang sagot sakin ay oo if may mag resign daw. I don't know what to choose between the two, priority ko kasi agad na magkatrabaho after graduation and I think CSA will provide that opportunity more than SPCM kahit na mas malapit sakin. Kaso ang problema ko naman kapag CSA ang pinili ko, mamomroblema ako sa MC Taxi araw araw. Teachers of reddit, what school should I choose?

Momenteel heb ik sinds een half jaar IWDA (30% van totaal) en VUAA (70% van totaal). In totaal een kleine 1000 euro. Ik ben een Belg en zit bij Saxo. Ik heb echt heel weinig kennis over beleggen, maak het dus niet te technisch in de comments ;) . Ik weet dat je moet spreiden en dat je moet kijken naar de kosten. Niet gelukt dus bij die VUAA aangezien de hoge TOB. Beginnersfoutje zeker? :)
Ik ben van plan om elk maand/ jaar een bepaald bedrag te investeren in ETF's. Dit zal niet veel zijn maar alleen wat ik kan missen, ben momenteel nog student en moet binnen een aantal jaar nog een huis kopen vandaar. Ik heb wel een lange termijn voor ogen. 30 - 40 jaar. Vanaf ik begin te werken kan dit te investeren bedrag wel wat hoger oplopen.
Ik vroeg mij af welke etf's jullie aanraden in verband met spreiding en kosten. Die IWDA en VUAA overlappen volgens mij wel ergens, ook omdat ze vooral inzetten op USA, niet? Maar zijn volgens mij ook de etf's die je niet kan missen in jouw portefeuille, als ik mag geloven wat ze op internet verkondigen natuurlijk. Ondanks dat heel wat goed draaiende etf's zich focussen op USA vraag ik me af of er ook niet te missen etf's zijn in andere continenten. Met oog op spreiding en lage kosten.

I struggled with reseting my course deadlines for a couple weeks so I figured I’d post it here.
Sometimes you will not see the “Reset Deadlines” option on the Coursera website. Even when you have ‘past due’ assignments. I went to the ‘Grades’ section and there was no reset option as suggested online. I couldn’t find it anywhere.
For some reason this option is only available to me on the MOBILE app. If you download the app on Android/iOS you should be presented with an option to reset your deadlines.

Hello all ! French based entrepreneur here looking to create a INC for my Amazon US sales / business. Whilst navigating the EU business side is a piece of cake for me understanding how it works in the states is quite complex.
- Do Amazon sellers actually pay sales tax on some states or is everything managed by Amazon through their marketplace facilitator program ? - In EU there are multiple accounting programs that can sync amazon sales with your bi monthly disbursements, this simplifies reconciling sales and various fees to cash in bank. Any recommended app in the US ? - Once the accounting is done, in EU you have to file a monthly VAT return for tax and yearly tax return for corporation tax, usually your accountant manages this. In the US I understand that book-keepers and CPA are usually not the same ? Do small companies file tax returns monthly / yearly by themselves ? - Are there any SaaS / or service providers that manage all this for you specialized in "Amazon" ?
TL;DR : Any advice on managing Amazon accounting for a US INC company welcome - SaaS or provider welcome. 🙏
