2024.11.25 16:50 PEClawyerSZ How to Avoid Losses When Purchasing Steel in Liaocheng, China

Liaocheng City, located in Shandong Province, is a prominent hub for steel and metal materials processing and distribution. However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in breaches of contract and fraud cases involving steel and metal transactions in this region. After analyzing these incidents, we found recurring patterns in the fraudulent schemes. Here are some guidelines to help you minimize risks:
1. Beware of Prices That Are Too Good to Be True
Fraudsters often offer steel and metal materials at prices significantly lower than market rates, sometimes even below the cost of raw materials for production. While this may seem appealing, it is often a red flag indicating potential fraud. Always verify whether the pricing aligns with market standards.
2. Conduct Thorough Background Checks
Before engaging with a supplier, perform detailed due diligence using trusted platforms. Here’s how:
Search Online Resources: Use platforms like Alibaba, Google, or Chinese domestic websites such as Qichacha (企查查) and Tianyancha (天眼查) to investigate the supplier’s Chinese company name.
Watch for Warning Signs: Pay extra attention to companies with names like “Shandong [X] Metal Co., Ltd. (山东某金属有限公司)” or “Shandong [X] Steel Pipe Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (山东某钢管制造有限公司).”
Many such companies claim substantial registered capital(up to 50 Million RMB) to appear credible but are often only a few years old(1-4 years).
If your supplier fits these descriptions, exercise extreme caution.
3. Scrutinize Their Online Presence
Fraudulent companies often create professional-looking English websites to appear legitimate. These websites may display:
1) Lavish design.
2) Certifications such as ISO9001 and various “awards.”
Despite their appearance, these companies frequently use a single account to collect payments, a suspicious practice that warrants investigation.
4. Verify Legal and Corporate Background
Gather detailed information about the supplier’s legal representatives, former legal representatives, and management team using public resources. Consider the following:
Legal Databases: Check platforms like China’s judgment document websites or defaulter blacklist systems (e.g., for court orders and unpaid debts).
Third-Party Verification: Contact previous buyers to verify the supplier’s transaction history. Request references directly from the supplier to corroborate their claims.
By following these steps, you can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to fraud when dealing with steel and metal purchases in Liaocheng. Vigilance and thorough research are your best defense against potential losses.

2024.11.25 16:50 Tatze13 Tissue culture plants

Hey Guys!
TL;DR: I'm asking for your opinion and experiences about tissue culture plants.
Lately i've been really curious about this whole tissue culture thing - so much, that i think about starting it as a new hobby.
So, here are a few questions that crossed my mind: What are your experiences with plants from tissue culture? Are there any specific plants you would or would not get as a tissue culture plant? And the most important question: what is your favourite aquatic plant?
I do have a fable for quiet rare plants (aponogeton robinsonii 'laos' for example, it's almost impossible to get where i live) and i thought it might be a nice side-effect of this hobby to be able to make some of these rare plants more accessable so more people can enjoy them in their tanks.
Looking forward for your opinions - have a good day!

Hello, I've liked to DND for a long time, and I have joined other people's games, but i haven't been able to find a game to join in a while, so i wanted to try to DM a game for once, so i was wondering which books were recommended when starting DMing 5e, but should I purchase the 2014 books or 2024 books?

2024.11.25 16:50 32contrabombarde Why do people default to clicking a bazillion times?

My EDC light is a D4V2 (SST20 4000k, boost driver), which obviously has Anduril. I usually keep it in the advanced UI because I'm usually the one using it (though I may change that). Whenever I have to hand it to someone else for whatever reason, instead of clicking once to turn on/off like one would think people would do, they immediately commence mashing the switch, changing settings, turning on blinky modes, or some other undesired thing. For example, the other day, someone was impressed with how bright it was, so I passed them the light. I said "press and hold to make it brightedimmer", and they immediately proceeded to mash the switch until I took the light back. Why do people do this? Most hardware store AA powered lights people are used to have a big button that you press to turn on, and press again to turn off.
(yes I am aware it is 100% my fault for handing someone an Anduril light in advanced UI mode, but still...why?)

2024.11.25 16:50 what_the_1234 D3 causes anxiety and insomnia?

My labs said I was on the low side of normal. I started taking a low dose of vitamin D3. Specifically 1000IUs of Can Prev D3 drops. I get heightened anxiety and my sleep is very negatively affected. I tried taking Melatonin and Magnesium Glycinate and it didn't help. Once I stop it takes me a week to get back to my normal. I have been reccomended to take D3 especially where I live. Any thoughts on what I should try next?

2024.11.25 16:50 smeffr its mind blowing

i work as a paramedic doing 911-based calls in the west side of our states capitol (so were pretty busy considering how much we cover). my boss, he ran some numbers on where are call volume goes, suprisingly, its the assisted living facilities, dialysis centers, & clinics. LOTS of clinics. an occasionally we get called to the hospital to help when they are out of trucks. the worst part is they are 75% BS, the other 25% is actual emergent/reasonable-to-call ones (I am including lift assists too). When I say BS, i mean they/family can drive, their symptoms are not well defined, and they aren't in a world of hurt. charge nurse say "go to triage haha"
I am a person who is super optimistic! but the reason im writing this is because there is this doctor at a giant clinic will call for reasons I can't explain. A man who lost his appetite, a lady who was tapered off of her antidepressants way to soon, and a woman who has CHD with a 'low' SPO2 (which was her normal). Not all personnel are like this but recently it feels like it.
It costs 1,190$ to turn a wheel when we go to a call, and that ultimately is paid by insurance and (more-so) our taxes. the fact that the main source has HEALTH CARE personnel that should know what is considered emergent. In that sense i can see why they would call too because they do have that medical knowledge. I don't know it feels more like a critical thinking problem... are they not allowed to tell the pt at an urgent care "please go to the local ER" for the "seizure-like-activity"? man this doesn't feel right. lucky we aren't swamped and OOS when a few calls come up, but what about the other departments who don't have it so much.. i am kinda thinking about them.
now why on earth is this apparent I am curious to hear what you think :)
PS: dont take this post the wrong way i love my job this just blows my mind.
