Hi all.
My baby is now 9 months and I'm finally ready to properly discuss the ordeal I went through after I gave birth.
I'm in my late 20s, in the UK. I gave birth near my due date. Everything was going fine, I was pushing and had dilated 9cm. Suddenly, babies heart rate dropped so had to be rushed for an emergency c section. C section was okay, however I caught an infection and had to remain in hospital for 6 days.
Up until the baby was born, the care I received was fine. Afterwards it was absolutely horrific. There are just (some) of the things that happened to me-
-3 hours after my c section (it was 11pm) my jug ran out of water. I buzzed for the midwife and said 'please may I have some water' she rolled her eyes and said to the drinking water tap is down the corridor on your right. Keep in mind I JUST had a c section...I can't move. I painfully get myself out of bed, leaving my baby alone, I drag my catheter bag full of urine and my iv thing (I had to have antibiotics via a vain) and my jug to fill up my jug. It took me 20 minutes to do. The midwife could have done it in 2.
- I couldn't breastfeed. By day 2, there was no milk. Baby was very very hungry and crying. I had no choice but to try formula. However, the hospital said that they don't provide formula. That's fine, my husband went out and got some. Then they said, we don't provide boiled water or sterilised water (what?). I was shocked. Luckily, my aunt who was visiting is a solicitor who specialises in medical law...she said you have ready made formula in the hospital...give it to her now. They did. What scares me is that if my aunt wasn't there...they wouldn't have given me. Keep in mind, I had my own powder I just need so boiled cool water (which they had as they make tea in hospital)
My question is: has anyone else faced awful post natal care? Or was this just an isolated case.

 | I’ve been working retail sales for a large corporate company that is currently going through a bankruptcy. I am the only female (21) employee besides my 64 year old coworkeassistant manager. I close alone 95% of the time and the clientele is majority men. The store has no cameras aside from one above the door that records a quick picture of the top of the persons head to track how many customers come in and out to see how many people make purchases throughout the day. We close at 8pm Mon-Sat and 7pm on Sunday. Recently, a man has been coming in at night (when I’m alone) he is roughly in his 40’s, and he carries knives around his waist in a belt and strapped to his legs and bullets. He was really nice at first and offered me a piece of pizza since he was heading to his buddies to drop it off. I took it and he acknowledged that I often close alone. He was pretty much normal the first time. He has come in again a few times since then, a couple times I wasn’t there (but still at night when I would be closing). He isn’t very talkative with anyone but me. He also doesn’t park in sight so I don’t know what he drives or where he comes from, and he refuses to become a rewards member and only pays cash because as he said he doesn’t want anyone to know his information. The next time he came in I was with my 64 year old coworker. He kept insisting that he place an order at a restaurant nearby so we could have dinner. I politely said no thank you and that I had already eaten. He then got irritated and started speaking aggressively as to why what he was offering was better than what I already ate and how badly he wants to do this for me. My coworker proceeded to call me away from him. He hung around for another 20 minutes waiting for me to come back before he finally left. The next day, it was luckily my one day a week where I work the midshift, I told one of my male coworkers about the man, and around 6:30 (normally all other workers leave at 5:30-6), I was back home and my coworker texted me that he came into the store, looked around, but didn’t speak and then left. I mentioned my worry regarding the situation to the store manager and he kinda laughed it off and said he’d handle it. After this past week of dealing with it, I sent him a text again, stating that I do not feel safe closing because he knows much work schedule, I will post his responses. After seeing his responses it makes me even more upset. He says that i’m too nice, and continues to make a joke of it, when I have been explicitly clear that this isn’t a joking matter. Our regional manager has stated that “women’s safety is a personal opinion” and “if women don’t feel safe in a workplace stop hiring women”. My manager has told me this in person and I also have messages of him stating it. I ideally do not want to quit the job as my partner and I just bought a house, but I am very scared for my personal safety. Sorry for the long post, there’s a lot of background information I felt was necessary to add. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hello! I hope I am posting this in the right sub. I'm trying to identify this piece of (Flamenco?) guitar performance... the video I've uploaded is to show where I found it, only the audio track is useful for any possible identification. This is in minute 40 of a DJ mix as a "bridge" between two other tracks. I did a screen recording so I could listen to this section on loop, and I've been listening to it for the past few hours. I've messaged the DJ in question on Instagram in the hope that he will be able to recall what the original source was, but I'm wondering if anyone here might recognise it? It sounds like a live performance to my ear, which makes it a bit tricky...

I'm looking for stocking stuffer ideas for my parents. It's relatively new to me, I started doing stockings for them about 2 years ago so still getting the hang of it but trying to give them as good of a Christmas as they give us. The stockings are big, so it'll take a good amount of smaller items to fill them.
My parents grew up poor but worked very hard and made good money for themselves and the family as they got older. They have all they want for and have the means to get themselves anything they don't already have so struggling to think of things that will actually be of use or want.
A bit about my parents: They are both in their early 60s. My parents are neat freaks, and like to keep a tidy place. They don't like knick knacks or anything that can be perceived as clutter. They have two cats whom they love dearly, and are currently watching my cat as well. They are homebodies, and live in a secluded area without many friends nearby so they don't host often. My mom takes good care of her hair, as it's not the healthiest so she does what she can. She uses lots of salon grade products, but is picky about which ones. My dad recently got back into working out and goes to the gym every morning by himself. He's also gotten into cooking recently and has been getting much better, as he never cooked when we were growing up. My father is retired but my mother works from home in her own private office. My mother is very picky about skincare, haircare and bodycare products, usually not straying from her tried and true ones. My dad uses some hair product, but that's about it.
What I've already gotten for them: My mother: Her perfume brand deodorant, a marzipan bar (she loves), a soft services theraplush refillable overnight retinol hand repair cream with refill (she's never had before but thought it might be a good idea), a ColorWow mini dream coat supernatural hair spray, Peter Thomas Roth instant FIRMx temporary eye tightener (heard good things, thought she might like it or at least be willing to try it) My father: hair styling product, edibles (he loves them lol), a pair of cufflinks with a sentimental story behind them, and that's it so far... really struggling with his if you can't tell lol
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!!!

First time I played was in 2014, and it was with a friend who was guiding me along. And I remember being kind of decent. Last time I played was within the past year, and I got my ass totally kicked, I couldn't figure out how to just survive honestly, there were too many good players that I was playing with. Is it one of those things where I need to just keep playing and eventually get the hang of it or is there a way for me to join easier lobbies?
