2024.11.25 17:51 scarab259 How to wire this?
It does have a schematic on the instructions but I've got an extra live and neutral wire that's not accounted for on the schematic. Is it just as simple as put the two positives together? There's also the earthing wire that was like that when I got to the old extractor fan? It wasn't attached to anything before so is it best to leave it now? Not even sure where I could connect it to. Apologies if these are all stupid questions, I've only ever done straight forward light switches and plugs before submitted by scarab259 to DIYUK [link] [comments] |

2024.11.25 17:51 Cranky_Krogan (No DAV Spoilers) DAV isn't just a "good game" it's a FANTASTIC "Dragon Age game"
I just finished the game after 100+ hours and started a new playthrough and I have a few quick thoughts:
Allot of people think its just a "good game" mostly because of how fun of the combat is and how, as a whole, the world was well crafted. However, many of those same people will then say something like "It's just a bad Dragon Age game". I can't disagree more! Just some quick context before I begin: -I started with DAO and fell in love with the story and characters, especially the Dwarf Noble background. -It took me a bit to appreciate DA2, but playing as a Mage helped a ton with that. I really like the game now. One of the things I liked the most about it was how much control they gave you over your companion's combat preferences. -DAI was absolutely amazing and by far the game I sunk the most hours into. -I am one of those players that likes to do EVERYTHING possible. I do all the side quests I can before starting the next Main Story quest, things like that. I have always played games like that. Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher, etc. Which brings me to my next point. I think that many of the people who say that it doesn't feel like Dragon Age forgot what it's like to play a Dragon Age game. "Back in the day" I can remember that people where allot more into the whole "do everything possible" thing, like I am. I can remember people EASILY sinking hundreds of hours into RPGs, just to see what would happen if you did things differently. 100s of extra hours just to see something SLIGHTLY different. That used to be the way... I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like that way of playing games has kind of gone away for allot of people. There are some GREAT modern games now. Fantastic stories and characters, but most of those games are much more cinematic with some combat and a few collectibles sprinkled in. For the most part, you will get the same experience REGARDLESS of how much effort you put into it. . Modern games are either that OR a short story followed by an absolute grind fest. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just much different. DAV takes gamers back to those "good old days" where putting in all that extra effort DOES make a difference on your experience and the outcome. I really think that it is one of the main "pain points". I think people have gotten too used to modern storytelling in games (again, not bad, just different) and may not have the patience or will power to commit so much time to games like they used to. Either that OR they start playing the game with their mind already made up about how they are going to like it, usually based of of OTHER people's opinions. That's also something that we didn't have nearly as much "back in the day" . People didn't get to play the whole game WEEKS before everyone else and then have a full review crafted for launch day. Everyone had to start the game at the same time and experience the game at their own pace and formulate their own opinions. Many people ask "Who was this game made for?!". It's for us gamers who still remember "the old ways" lol. It was made for us gamers who want to put in the extra effort. For us gamers that walk into a room and need to check every corner for gold or hidden chests. The gamers who need to smash all the boxes and break all the pots. At the end of it all, it's worth it. And the important part: All that extra effort makes the game so much better. You are rewarded for it and the game is much more of a satisfactory experience because of it. I feel like DAV is very much one of those games. If you put in the effort, the experience is a million times better. The key is to be ready for a game like that and to have the willpower to commit that much time. If you don't you are going to leave disappointed and say things like "It's not a good Dragon Age game". What originally got me thinking all this was watching a popular streamereviewer play the game and complain about silly things. Specifically, they were on one of the late-game quests and went on a rant about the loot being so bad. That they were tired of just getting white and green rarity... Their Caretaker was not upgraded and NONE of the factions were above 1 star... Maybe if you don't rush through the game. Maybe if you stop to smell the flowers and look at the sights. Maybe if you take the time to figure out how the things in the game are supposed to work. Maybe THEN you will "get better loot". Jimminy Christmas...
-TLDR- This game is great IF you put in the effort. Give it a fair shake and go into it without other people's opinions in your head. Experience it for yourself and get lost in the world for a bit. If you don't have the time, patience, or willpower to experience all the game has to offer, don't bother... Wait until you are in the mood for a game that will take 100+ hours to complete. Do everything. Talk to everyone. Find the little things. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

2024.11.25 17:51 Shadow__Account Market rates for specialists are the same as candidates required rates, no room for my fee.
As the title says, I do mostly contracts and the rates the companies are willing to pay is most of the time more or less the same as what the candidates are asking. How do you deal with this? Negotiate and advise the companies and close the candidates lower? The gap, (or our hourly rate) is quite high.
