That’s a staggering figure—and it’s good news for us because charisma isn’t about being tall, rich, or conventionally handsome. Here’s what the study says: People judge us on two key traits—warmth (friendliness, approachability) and competence (confidence, skill).
Balancing these two traits is critical. Too much warmth without competence, and people may see you as likable but not serious. Too much competence without warmth, and you might come off as intimidating or aloof. It’s about mastering a balance between warmth and competence—two things anyone can learn to embody.
For Asian men, navigating stereotypes can feel like an uphill battle. Society often boxes us in, portraying us as either passive and invisible or overly competent but cold. To break free of these perceptions, charisma can be a game-changer.
So, how do we put this into action?
1️⃣ Warmth:
- Avoid the Asian Poker Face! Smile often, especially during introductions. A genuine smile signals trust and friendliness.
- Start by being genuinely interested in others. Use active listening—nod your head, tilt slightly toward the person speaking, and make consistent eye contact.
- Compliment others sincerely. When approaching women, instead of generic compliments, make them specific: “I love your red dress, you're very confident”.
- Slow down your speech and lower your tone when speaking. This conveys authority and control. Avoid rushing or ending sentences on a rising intonation, as it can sound uncertain.
- Stand tall and practice open, expansive body language. Avoid crossing your arms or slouching, as these convey insecurity.
- Share stories of your experiences or achievements when appropriate. Competence is more impactful when it’s evident but not boastful.
- Your style and having a complete identity in your sexual avatar and social presentation, and paying attention to detail, can show a high level of competence.

2024.11.25 17:50 PoshTrinket I'm struggling with the idea of changing my name.
Aside from the gender aspect, I've never liked my name. I started using a new name with my doctor and in therapy and I told my wife that I'm trying it on. I'm not going to lie, it feels pretty good to hear it, see a text or email addressed using it but I'm also the type of person that resists change. I think it represents leaving the baggage of the old me behind and starting fresh, although I don't want to deny my past.
What are your experiences picking a new name, or maybe you kept your old one? Did it take a long time to find one you liked? How long did it take before you forgot about the old one?

Hej. Kvinnan som bor under hatar oss. Våra barn (2 och 4) springer runt och leker emellanåt och hon blir galen på att det stampar i golven. Hon ringer på och skäller ut oss, skäller på mig när jag möter henne på gatan eller trapphuset och säger elaka saker till oss, om våra barn och vår slappa uppfostran.
Jag försöker vara lugn och lyssna när jag blir konfronterad men det bubblar inombords. Varit i kontakt med hyresvärden som säger att barnen har rätt att leka sålänge det inte är mitt i natten, och att vår granne inte har rätt att klaga på oss, utan hon ska vända sig till värden. Påpekade detta för grannen varpå hon fräste.
Vi har redan satt regler att barnen ej leker på sitt rum före kl 8 av respekt för grannen som har sitt sovrum under, och bekräftar när hon är sur att vi förstår det såklart måste vara jobbigt för henne, och vi gör vad vi kan inom rimliga gränser, men att barnen har rätt att leka i sitt hem och vi kan inte binda fast dem. När hon skäller försöker jag förklara att vi satt gränser av respekt för henne och undrar om hon uppskattar det, varpå hon säger att det inte märks.
Grannen har tyvärr lyckats med sin strategi att ta varje tillfälle i akt att skälla på oss, då jag inte kan sluta tänka på att snart kommer hon igen och är sur. Ringer hon på kan jag välja att inte öppna, men då blir hon ännu argare och oresonabel nästa gång vi exv möts i trappan.
Jag sa en gång att om hon ej vill höra sina grannar bör hon ej bo i gammal lägenhet med dålig ljudisolering - och kanske än hellre flytta ut från centrala sthlm till landet. Hon svarade inte på det utan sa att hon har all rätt att bo där hon gör, att hon själv haft barn och de sprang aldrig runt och störde andra, och att deras tidigare granne var mycket bättre.
Jag undrar mest hur jag ska agera här framåt, då jag inte har lust att ta mer skit och låta det här gå ut mer över mitt liv. Hyresvärden är som sagt på min sida men gör inte så mycket mer än bekräftar att hon inte har rätt att klaga på mig.

i need help on how to acessa the token sent to the frotend as a cookie. When i receive the cookie in the login fuction its working and i see the cookie when looking in the dev tools, but when i redirect to the MainPage.html i lose this cookie. I want to know if theres any way to save that cookie across html pages
