This is just aggressively enough to ruin the rest of my day. I went to open this bottom but it was super tight. I guess I gave it a little too much because instead of breaking free it just broke off. This is new from the supply house. Before you ask. Yes I was turning the correct way. Already got asked that by the field supervisor.
Honestly this is just aggravating enough to make me grouchy the rest of the day.

Spectrum- evidence of predatory business practices Beyond the chat agent’s laughably patronizing tone, I’m wondering if this chat can be evidence of predatory business practices? My internet went out this Monday morning- again, and it wasn’t reported until I got on the line with an agent- not the chatbot. It appears they’re forcing people to buy a more expensive package to use their internet - which is already paid for- during the business day.
I’m in GP near the Nassau/Norman stop. We know spectrum has a monopoly over this area, and as other posts in this sub have shown, the internet keeps going out during the business day. Almost an entire 9-5 day last week, and multiple times a week for the last month and a half or so.
This is the first time they said ‘residential internet is for entertainment purposes only’, and that apparently I need business internet for access during the day? I don’t recall this ever being clearly communicated. They are forcing people to pay more for the service they already pay for.
Planning to report this to city council, I just want to make sure there isn’t a glaring reason it wouldn’t be actionable.
Also looking into joining NYC Mesh!

For dual enrollment students who have taken pre-calculus+ and pass the placement exam, can they be put into calculus+?
I have 2 students moving from out of state. They will continue DE at nvcc. One has completed pre-calc and planning to take Calc I. Other has completed Calc I and plans to take Calc II. As long as they pass the placement exam, can they enroll in these classes? Or does NVCC start DE students at a certain math level unilaterally?
We’re new to the state (haven’t moved yet) so I wanted to check on how placements works in Virginia CCs.

I’ve never been a particularly disciplined writer. I tend to get overwhelmed by all the options a character has and all the different ways a character could react, or how to get from one point of the story to the other. I get overwhelmed by this and just end up not writing or writing aimlessly until I feel lost…
So, the title says outline, but I guess I mean it much more broad than that. Do you outline? Can you give me any tips for how you focus your ideas into a cohesive story? Also how do you organize your story physically in terms of a notebook, notecards, storyboards, etc?

So I have another story to share that is more of the humourous side that comes from my high school jobs. This school is in my neighborhood. I have always gotten jobs covering their high school. Their high school kids are known to be very rough, angry, and very quick to engage in what I call whimp bullying. Let's begin. There is some.jargn and slang I'll have to breakdown.
The first one deals with a student that tried to bait me into a discussion about gangs. He asked me if I knew "King Von". I played like I didn't know and just acted like I was confused by the question. I was troubled by this so I sent an email. At this school, I'm given the email to contact the Deans. I call this in and the student is removed. He comes back a little mad at me and trying to find a way out saying I was lying. I just walk up to him and say, "I did a report about gan when I was in the 10th grade dude. Maybe next time you shouldn't just casually mention one on the most notorious street gangs in the city." For those that don't know King Von is the Leader of the Black Disciples. It was most famous and longest active street gangs in the city of Chicago. King Von is the founder and leader of the gang. The student was massively butthurt and sent home. It was pretty funny but I questioned where do kids think mentioning this stuff is productive. I guess I was the only one that learned that falsely throwing up a set is an easy way to get shot. By the way that means basically pretending to be part of a gang you are not. It's extremely disrespectful to those gangs.
The next one deals with a student threatening me violently. He said after one of his friends was just asking basic life questions about me. We were having but since I didn't dap up the student again he took offense and acted offended on his behalf saying he should roast me or that and that I'm nobody. That he was better than me. He tried to ask what do I have he doesn't, "I'm just more successful with three degrees." He said, "That won't matter once I get my hands on you and end you." I just said, "Oh okay. I got something for you." I sent an email regarding the student and he got removed very quickly. What made me laugh here is, "Man what the fuck?! Why would you believe him over me? Just look at him and look at me!" I am like in my mind, "Wow what a convincing argument." He got a detention for his trouble. It was going to be worse but somehow he convinced them that he was asking to go to her bathroom. Also one of the Deans....seem to think saying to end someone is just a joke and he was "playing". Look, I'm all for jokes but if you say that to a cop you'll be in handcuffs. Same with saying you will smoke someone. Maybe I'm old but violent threats should be taken seriously.
I have to say this school has a lot of kids ready to go in fight mode and false assumption that I'm supposed to be "chill" and that doing my job is "doing too much". I have another story to share that happened when going home from work but I'll end this for now. I know the material here is pretty heavy but I found humor in it due to the actions and how the kids responded to facing accountability. Just. In that day alone one got a detention and two kids got sent home.

2024.11.25 17:22 Splaat_ S&S LISA Help - did I rush into it?

I recently turned 20 and began thinking about my finances for my future. I had £4k from my Child Trust Fund in a Fixed ISA for 18 months as I wasn't that fussed about investing or a LISA. However, upon regaining access to the money recently, I deceided to open a LISA. Moneybox was the provider my girlfriend was using for hers, so I opened a Cash LISA, putting in £2k . However, after reading up online I realised I probably should have made it a Stocks and Shares LISA instead, as I have no plans to buy a house anytime soon (for at least 5 years), due to university.
I changed my Moneybox Cash LISA to a S&S LISA, but I've now also read that Moneybox aren't great for S&S LISAs because of the high fees. I'm considering moving the LISA to Dodl as its got lower fees. I would potentially want to transfer the LISA back to a Moneybox Cash LISA in the future (when I'm about to purchase a house) but apparently you can't leave and then go back to Moneybox.
I'm still within the 30 day grace period of opening my LISA, so I'm wondering if it's possible to close my current LISA with Moneybox, reopen one with Dodl, leaving the door open for me to transfer the LISA to Moneybox in the future. And also, if I were to close the Moneybox LISA, its value has gone up by £50 already so would I get that back too, or just the money that I've depoisited.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated, I fear that I've rushed into this a bit due to the excitement of actually putting my money to use rather than just having it sat in a savings account.

Awhile ago I was looking for information on herbs I could grow to make my own tea. I found (on reddit) an old website that was a mirror of a very primitive angelfire-type website (very basic html, basically just a webpage of links).
It contained old papers (in pdf form) people put out detailing information obtained from Native American tribes from the early settlers. It was soo interesting to me and it’s killing me I can’t find it in my history! I think because I opened it through the app?
Does anyone know what I’m talking about out?

I'm trying to setup a Siri Shortcut to easily and quickly add a To-Do while on the run, that way I don't have to open the app and I can do it from the lock screen.
Currently I'm running into an issue (and maybe this is just how it works) but when I run my shortcut and add all of the information it will open the Things app. I wish it could just send the To-Do without opening the app and requiring me to hit enter or confirm the To-Do. Similar to what you can do with the Apple Reminders app.
Anyway it got me wondering, what Siri Shortcuts do you use and do you have a good way of creating a To-Do on the go without opening the app?

2024.11.25 17:22 Silly-Campaign-2538 Lifts vs suspension warranty

I was told by the service department that getting a 2" lift will void the suspension warranty. My 24 xpro didn't have any of the recall issues. And I want to lift it a little, but if something happens later on down the line and I have to bring it in. I still want that warranty lol. Is there any way to maneuver around this? Or are suspension issues not really that big of a deal, or is it something that's bound to happen? Is the lift something that can be "taken off" before I take the car in, or will it be obvious that the suspension issues are happening because of this 2" lift?
