2024.11.25 18:30 Extreme-Monk-9828 Raynaud’s + abnormal capillary pattern- how likely am I to transition to SSc?
Hello beautiful friends and scleroderma warriors,
This year I have became very ill. I develop Crohn’s disease and ankylosing spondylitis. Then, a little over a month ago, I developed raynauds along with other symptoms: dysautonomia, livedo racemosa, petechiae, cyanosis, and more.
My rheum said my raynauds was probably primary but I felt deeply it was not. Lo and behold, I have an abnormal capillary pattern with dilated capillaries and hemorrhaging. I also have a low positive ANA (speckled) and no specific antibodies as of one month ago.
I hate to say to you all “I know you guys have this disease and I’m scared this will happen to me too.” Please understand, I already have Crohn’s, AS, and narcolepsy, I am so ill, and because it seems like SSc is the hardest rheumatic disease to manage, I do not know how much that addition would deteriorate my health even more.
I know that Raynaud’s + abnormal capillary pattern means that if I do transfer to a rheumatic disease, SSc is most likely, much more likely than another CTD like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis.
I’m wondering if any of you know if this means it is inevitable, or more so something like 30% chance.
