I am shopping for an engagement ring and am having a hard time finding confidence in the diamonds I have shopped for thus far.
I plan on purchasing a natural 1.0-1.4 carat round diamond. My girlfriend and I both value the ethics of the diamond's origin. The Kimberly Process seems to be the cop-out answer from most jewelers in my area to "prove" ethical mining and processing practices. To my understanding, this only certifies that the diamond is conflict-free. I have not found a jeweler that is willing to truly address the poor working conditions, child labor, human-rights side of the ethics coin outside of saying "all of our diamonds are ethically sourced"... Should I be trusting this sentiment? Am I assuming unethical practices are abundant because of the media?
Am I asking the wrong questions? Am I shopping at the wrong jewelers? I have been to three stores, all of them provide a GIA Grading Report, but none of them provide GIA Origin Reports. Is this normal?
I am looking for input on how to proceed, am I asking a question that cannot be answered in the natural diamond space? We want confidence that she can wear and appreciate the beauty of the diamond without a moral stigma in the back of our minds, like supporting a business that is negatively impacting the lives of those involved in producing the product...
Has anyone else struggled with this? If so, how did you find the right diamond?

 | So for context I really like watch jack Edward’s, he’s a book YouTuber and I find his content so fascinating. But I distinctly him describing this book and I really wanted to know more, so much so I downloaded audible and after reading the blurb I actually bought it to read. And oh my goodness this book did not disappoint, the plot is in the pov of a gay mountain lion and his interactions with human society and his reflections on, there’s a lot of introspection and honesty I loved every minute of it, I can’t get into spoilers but I see a lot of people disliking section part but honestly I enjoyed it. This is also the only book I’ve reread because of how good it is. So, when I first stated the game I didn't want to play as Abby at all, once she killed Joel. But by the time I was finished playing as Ellie I was okay to play as Abby and you actually learn a lot about her and Lev helps her grow as a character.
But, I just got to the theatre...I don't really want to fight Ellie as Abby. This doesn't make sense to me. Ellie is still the protagonist and the character a lot of us feel the most contacted to (after the first game). Making you play as Abby here seems like a very weird decision.
I definitely have enjoyed the game a lot more than I thought and Abby had some awesome missions. I'm not sure how much of the game is left but it's been one hell of a ride!

I love traveling. My family is avid travelers (we’ve visited 40 states so far and explored 5 countries). I would really love to have the experience of studying abroad during my last two years of college. I am undecided where I’d like to study. I have narrowed it down to Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
For Japan, I’ve always loved Japanese culture ever since I was a child. I visited there when I was 9 years old and don’t remember much of it, but my mom said I really enjoyed exploring Tokyo. I also love Japanese cuisine and music. I think it is a very beautiful and unique country to explore. I also have an aunt who lives in Kyoto, and she would let me stay with her and her family for the semester if I decide to study there. I miss her a lot. The only thing that makes me nervous is having to learn the language. I don’t know much Japanese, but I’m willing to learn more to get around.
For Australia and New Zealand, I don’t have to worry about learning English. I would like to explore the wildlife and nature it has to offer while studying business. From research I’ve done so far, it also seems cheaper to study in those countries than Japan, which I like.
Which seems like the better option? I would love studying in any of these countries and be happy no matter where I end up. Thanks.

I went to a concert last night and about halfway through, a girl near me frantically called over the security guard and said she was going to throw up. She refused to go to the bathroom though, so the security guard brought her a throw up bag (like the ones they give you in the hospital). She looked really unwell and kept holding the bag near her face like she was going to be sick at any moment, and I started panicking pretty bad. I ended up going to sit back by the bar for the rest of the show, but it sucked because I couldn’t see anything and I missed my favorite song. I’m just so frustrated and wish I had stayed where I was. I was RIGHT up front and had such a good view!! I really hate this phobia :(

2024.11.25 19:46 Aehs01 Revive Bow Bolt Has Ruined The Game
I've been playing Hunt since open beta, I remember falling through the floor the game was so buggy.
I have never really complained about much about anything in this game despite even the recent performance issues but these revive bow bolts for me have completely ruined hunt as of lately.
Just had a match where us (trios) went against a team of 2. One of my team mates was a new player but me and the other are both veterans with 2000+ hours played.
Fighting at Deadfall these guys ran all around the roof as we killed them both multiple times, literally 5 times and they just ran around reviving each other over and over with that stupid revive bolt.
It has completely ruined what makes hunt exciting in terms of the revive/death mechanic.
I think at very minimum the revive should have a delay or maybe a one time use in a match.
I wish I had a recording of the whole thing as it was the most ludicrous use of this thing I've ever seen.
