2024.11.25 20:21 MyLilRafalca How far in advance of roasting beef tenderloin should I put on a rub?
I am going to reverse sear a tenderloin for the holiday. On a friends recommendation, I am going to use penzey’s prime rib rub to flavor it.
I have read that it’s a good idea to salt and leave in fridge overnight beforehand, so I was planning on doing that. But not sure how that would change if planning on using a rub.
A few possibilities:
- Just replace the salt w the rub overnight the day before.
- Salt as usual overnight, put on rub just before roasting.
- Some combination that I don’t really know.
Any recommendations would be amazing! Thanks!

2024.11.25 20:21 Chops2917 Does it ever get better
I know it doesn’t for them, although I wish it did. Selfishly, I mean for us, the caregivers, the family, the friends, whoever is left at the later stages (in this case, hardly anyone - must be easier to just not be involved or care).
At the moment I am drowning in trying to find a care home and empty my loved ones house at the same time. They are currently in hospital, where they’ve been for 5 going on 6 weeks. Ready for discharge, but can’t return home because care needs have gone into 24 hour requirements that I just can’t do.
It’s soul destroying going through and packing up someone’s whole entire life.
It’s guilt inducing trying to place someone in a care home.
It’s nerve wracking trying to find a care home that will hopefully treat them well as I’ve heard so many horror stories.
It’s lonely.

Hi, name's Nexis. I'm 21 y/o from Denmark with ESEA MAIN experience. This last season of MAIN my team went just under relogation line going 6-8. A very turbulent season with 2 roster changes start of the season. I'm a rifler that has played most spots on most maps and I'm open to most things. I am usually very calm and collected and I do tend to be more of a 2nd or 3rd guy in. I'm currently available all 7 days a week from (19)20-24 CET, but I do like at least one day off, and I can commit more hours if that is needed. I don't really play faceit besides with the team so I'm currently 2.8 k elo and was 3.3 k back i csgo. My last 2 projects have both been in teams that have lasted around a year (4 seasons), and now everyone just agreed that it was time to look for options and try something new. All my teams throughout my team CS career have all been international teams, but I am also open to local teams.
What I am looking for:
- A team that is calm and collected.
- A team that has a strong core (also open to new projects if there's potential)
- Are in main or at least have main exp (or made inters POs a few seasons).
- A team that is willing to work in their own time to fix mistakes and develope together as a team.
- An org would be nice, but not required at all :)

If you get the dreaded blackout on your LCD. You may try putting the battery back in and out or cutting the camera on and off. But, I found a fix that works and that is to go to your menu, and at the very bottom is the reset button. you’ll have to reset all your controls, but that at least fixed my black screen just in case you’ve tried everything else and if you use raw, make sure you switch back to raw, cause that’s important.👌

Been burned too many time - OS updates (on Windows in particular), but no driver updates. Lots of hacks etc to get it working but that only lasts so long.
I'm using OSX now - I can buy VueScan software, or buy a new scanner. New scanner is actually cheaper!
If I buy a new scanner - which manufacturer tends to offer driver updates on a longer term basis? Been using Epson for a while - but happy to change for someone who offers better long term support.

Happy Monday guys!
I recently came across this cool roller coaster model - https://www.printables.com/model/834449-roller-coaster-track-132/

Upon closer inspection, and with different filament colors, the gaps between the individual track pieces are very visible - because the individual pieces are FDM printed separately - and I started wondering how to do it better.
A soldering iron changes the filament color too much and is also not very evenly applied. Sanding can work but haven't tried.
But what about printing it with a resin printer? I don't have one, so I'm curious about your opinions -
Assuming we take the full track of this model (without the coaster supports of course), so basically everything that is black in this model, as ONE piece. Would it be possible to smoothly resin print that in one go? This would get rid of the gaps in between the individual track pieces.
Bonus question - what is a good entry level resin printer that I could get on Black Friday? Let's say below 300€?

I'm planning to take a trip as a foot passenger from Belfast to Cairnryan in December. The prices quoted on the Stella line website seem pretty high - $50 or about 48 Euros per person for a foot passenger. Is this average for mid december? We're going as a family of three so trying to find a cheaper option tbh. I keep seeing references to buses online or the Scotsrail ferry/train deal that would be cheaper. But the links are dead or the buses only go to Glasgow/Edinburgh without stopping at Cairnryn. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
