i’ll try to keep this post as short as i can but i want to be as detailed as possible.
my mom and i have taken care of my sisters daughter she was 6 months old. my mom is disabled so i am the only working person in the household. we’ve done everything from school, drs, buying food, medicine, clothing etc from the start. my sister is an addict. the last time she’s called to talk to my niece was about 2 months ago. she doesn’t come to visit her and has never bought her a single thing nor helped us financially. she’s the definition of an absent parent. my nieces father passed away when she was 7 months old. neither myself or my mom have legal custody and that is not something i want to do as i don’t want to take on that responsibility.
so, before i go spending money on a lawyer just to be told it’s not doable..would i be able to sue my sister for child support?

The past few weeks, my desires and frustration have died down. It's not because I took some sort of medicine or drug or because I had some sort of traumatic experience. I believe it's the result of praying Tahajjud for 30 days straight and begging Allah like a weak slave to help me stay celibate and single forever, to help me stay single happily and to help me stop caring about and thinking about girls and sex. This was the main dua that I started praying Tahajjud consistently for. I plan on continuing to pray Tahajjud though not every single day but rather to a frequency that I can manage inshAllah.
I don't know how long this period of low desires will last but I sure hope it lasts a long time. But even if it doesn't, I believe my Tahajjud dua is being slowly fulfilled. Of course it will only be completely fulfilled when I actually die a celibate and single lol.
I will keep on doing more good deeds and hopefully get to go for Umrah and Hajj to get my dua accepted inshAllah.
It's been great. I don't feel the need to vent on Reddit every day about this. Even if I see a beautiful and attractive women I don't feel much anymore which is a good thing. Even an inappropriate picture or video doesn't excite me anymore. And it's not because I'm depressed, Alhamdulilah I have never been happier and peaceful.
I don't care about getting girls much anymore. I study in a university and one cause of frustration for me was seeing all these endless amount of young attractive girls my age whom I couldn't have and seeing couples which all made me jealous. But now I don't care anymore. I'm content with the fact I won't ever get any of these girls or any girl ever.
This is the power of Tahajjud manifested. I just kept a firm belief that Allah will answer this dua of mine and it paid off. I will keep on praying Tahajjud and keep on making this dua till the day I die. So do pray Tahajjud my brothers and sisters to get your duas accepted and most importantly to earn the pleasure of Allah and earn good deeds.
