I was hoping to add Parallax into the game I am making but a team member asked it to be optional for those with motion sickness. I figured this would be a good idea but struggled to figure it out myself so I thought to ask here.
Here was the code I typed up... In game > screens, under "screen main_menu():" I added:
if persistent.mouse_parallax == True: add TrackCursor("images/background.png", 60) add TrackCursor("images/Shack_midground.png", 45) add TrackCursor("images/Tree_front.png", 40) imagebutton auto "gui/turn_off_parallax_%s.png" xpos 900 ypos 100 focus_mask True action ShowMenu("Parallax_False") elif persistent.mouse_parallax == False: add "images/background.png" imagebutton auto "gui/turn_on_parallax_%s.png" xpos 900 ypos 100
Then, for screens "Parallax_True" and "Parallax_False", both codes are this:
screen Parallax_False: $ persistent.mouse_parallax = False screen Parallax_True: $ persistent.mouse_parallax = True screen Parallax_False: $ persistent.mouse_parallax = False screen Parallax_True: $ persistent.mouse_parallax = True
The results of this code is that I have to click the "gui/turn_off_parallax_%s.png" two times to turn it off, then click on "gui/turn_on_parallax_%s.png" to turn it back on, then it stops working from there. I want to be able to click on it one time and continuously keep working.
If this helps... I believe I need to somehow unadd the "add TrackCursor"s and "images/background.png" since its possible they are overlapping each other. Unfortunately, I do not know the command to make this happen. Any help is appreciated.
