In Canada, a more idiomatic phrase is used: "birthday boy/birthday girl". Your phrase would be fine, but the tense is wrong. Since you're speaking of the past, you wouldn't use "is". You'd say, "Back in college, in our gang, it was always the person who celebrated his/her birthday who treated everyone to a restaurant on his/her birthday "In the party" can be correct -- but not in the way you want to use it. The word "party" can also mean "a specific group of people", and if used that way (which you were not doing), one can speak of being "in" a party. 2- Birthday: is most often used in social contexts; i.e., when within this year is your birthday? (perhaps referring to the social event it may imply to celebrate). So, considering the sample sentence in your question, it's inquiring the "birthday" "coming" implying the possiblity of a social interest (in addition to "I'm excited"). This is considered as her pre-birthday celebration. (Her birthday is two days from now.) Yesterday, we went to the beach for his post-birthday celebration. (His birthday was the day before yesterday.) Is it idiomatic to use pre- or post- when someone's birthday is celebrated or the party held not on the exact date of birth. "on my wedding day" is correct, I think. Please look at the following sources: 1. Our car had been washed the day before, but there I was on my wedding day at six in the morning washing the car.

No we did not make amend or go back together. I texted to let her know that I admit everything I did wrong as well as my avoidant behavior. But at the same time I also pointed out her mistakes and what led to my decision. I also said I believe I would do better if given 2nd chances, she didn’t want that and I was okay with that.
She somehow came back to contact me again and decided to blame it all on me, all of her insecurities was because of me and that I never even loved her. 4.5 years I spent with this person and this is what they think of me, this has indeed convinced me that I made the right choice dumping her (I felt like she was so entitled and ungrateful so I broke up with her). And yet when I told her I regretted hurting her, she made me realized that again, everything I did for her meant nothing. I simply cannot love someone refuses to see my efforts and admitting their mistakes.
The conversation has killed off any feelings and respect I have left for her, I guess I was just idolizing her because she was there with me when I had a sickness last year which was quite severed and post-surgery time was tough, so I got so fixated on that positive aspect. After what she told me I feel lucky that I cut her out of my life and my judgment was right. I don’t even feel sad anymore and am actually quite relieved.
It is time for me to close this chapter of my life, as my ex showed me who she really is. I really do think I do not have to post in this sub anymore. To anyone out there who is still suffering, be it the dumper or dumpee, maybe you have yet to realize that your ex might not be that good of a person and you are just idolizing them. I hope that you will all move on soon.

It seems like a move to increase oversight and ensure these sites are operating legally and transparently within the country.
On one hand, it could help crack down on shady operators and provide more protection for users. But on the other hand, it might limit access to international platforms or make it harder for smaller operators to comply.

2024.11.25 21:41 icarusonfireagain explore page Algorithms on Insta AND Tiktok are broken, they have NEVER been connected, device or browser issue? PLEASE help!!!
At the beginning of October my Instagram explore page algorithm broke and has continued to fluctuate and act really funny, only showing a very narrow range of interests at a time, irrelevant content with very few likes, etc. reinstalling app (which is how you clear Instagram cache on iPhone), updating it, restarting phone, etc, clicking not interested on irrelevant stuff, etc. I chalked it up to an Instagram glitch- but then it happened again with a backup Instagram account I made specifically to test this.
And after a week now, the exact same thing is happening with tiktok, which I've only had for 2 weeks. It is not connected to my insta account in any way whatsoever, I have NEVER linked it, yet it's showing IDENTICAL content to my instagram explore, stuff I used to search for 5 years ago when I didn't even have a tiktok.
This makes me think it’s not an app specific issue and instead is something with my phone or computer or something, and I know if I don’t find the root issue it’s gonna keep happening.
I know it sounds silly but I really am so impacted by this (I have a genetic neurological disease and use my phone as distraction) and I genuinely feel like I'm going crazy here.
