so ive been having this weird issue for a while but havent gotten around to posting. my monkey ball banana mania just no longer has sound. i have done everything from loading it in lutris, to deleting and reinstalling, to even factory resetting my steamdeck and nothing. the audio slider in settings said its at 10 (max), the steamdeck sound is on and working in all my other games. its just monkey ball which wont work. any ideas?

Geothermal heated greenhouse? The house i bought has a sink hole with manhole over it. 55-58f air is coming out of the hole and so I'm trying to think of ways I can use the warmth to my advantage. I'm at least thinking that I could rig some sort of covering or transparent tent to overwinter some plants. Any suggestions for what I could use? I don't even know what all materials I could use for the greenhouse effect. is it even feasible to think I could make some use from the warmth coming from the ground.

Sexual assault still feels like a strong word. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet.
About 3 days ago I was alone with someone I trusted. I am a female, they are male. I’ve known them since I was in elementary school. We have a close friendship, including some flirting, but we’ve never been romantically involved. Recently we’ve been flirting more and (via text message) it’s gotten more flirty and sexy. But again- we’ve never even kissed.
We made plans to hang out. While there we were hugging and they began to feel me up. Rub my butt, my boobs. All over the clothes. They physically held my head still and kissed me, tongue and all. I pulled back and said “no, no, no” like scolding a toddler. I was surprised and didn’t immediately think it was so forceful. This is something I did want- in a really different way. They got on top of me and continued kissing me. They put my hand on their crotch over their pants multiple times, even after I moved it away and said “no”. When I asked them to get off me they didn’t right away and tried to (in a seemingly flirty way) argue with me why they shouldn’t and why I like it. While kissing me again, when I couldn’t see what was happening, they put my hand on their bare penis. I pulled it back quickly and told them to put their pants on. They argued with me, again trying to be coy, and saying “they are on, just not ALL the way”. At one point when they were kissing me they started trying to finger me through my leggings.
I forgot to mention- they had clearly been drinking. They smelled like alcohol.
I felt trapped. I was at their house, not mine. We were alone. And I did really want this person in romantic and sexual ways, but not like that.
Even though it hurts, I’ve already blocked them and we haven’t spoken.
I have therapy scheduled this week. I have supportive friends. But I just can’t believe how much this has affected me. I’m struggling to eat. The smell of alcohol makes me want to puke. I cry at random times. I’ve never been treated like this before and I’m just shocked. And sad. And confused because this isn’t the person I’ve known for so long.
Any additional advice beyond what I’ve done?
This might be kind of a usual post for the community, but I know the THT fans are good people and I just could use a space to be.

This state disgusts me why are we not protesting? So me and my fiancé have been considering fostering in the near future. We are a gay couple, and when I was looking into this I discovered this. I keep deciding not to do it, bc I feel like we don’t have enough money put back. You never know with kids when you may need emergency funds… But every foster parent I’ve met here is usually living worse off than we are. They act like feeding the kids, and giving them a bed at night is enough. I’m starting to realize the standards I have are insanely high. We can truly provide what these kids need. Show them a better way to live. Spoil them so they finally feel they can fit in. But after reading that above, it’s definite we will follow through next year after making sure we’re ready.
But I’m terrified bc I saw how TN only has like 1 social worker to 16 kids. It’s so bad they are begging gay couples to foster on twitter. I just know with all the mega churches popping up everywhere. They are probably convincing followers to adopt gay, or trans kids. Giving the parents the impression they will save their soul. And the church probably does this to cash in on their checks. When the kid obviously runs away, or commits suicide. They will just say they did their best, but the devil won. Only to traumatize more kids on the process .
Have these kids not suffered enough? Why would they specifically legalize discriminating against children? I mean we know why.. It’s so highly religious people can abuse, and drive them to suicide without any consequences. They just want lgbt+ kids to show what great christians they are. The timing says a lot. You know it’s so they can abuse the many trans kids who’ve been kicked out of their homes. I am just losing my mind right now. TN just passed a law requiring our kids to watch a bias, incorrect, religious anti abortion video. That shows them an incorrect view of what fetal development looks like.
Clearly TN GOP has no interest in helping, or educating our children. This is about using propaganda to brainwash our kids to believe in the same falsehoods they do. This is about cruelty, and allowing abuse if it targets those they believe should not exist. The Nazis are marching, why aren’t we? This has to stop guys!

I 23f was wrongfully terminated from my job. I had put in for time off two weeks prior, then a few people at my job decided to stop showing up and we were short staffed. My employer asked me if it was possible to move my vacation days because we did not have the people but if I couldn’t it would be alright to just let her know. I wasn’t able to move the days and decided to take the vacation. One day into my vacation she then texted me and told me that I could not take it and I would need to come in. I was already out of the country so I told her I wasn’t able to come in and would be back the day i told her. I had two days off and then asked for an additional two days. So I was only gone for 2 days really. I want to know if there is a way to still get unemployment since I was not actually told I couldn’t leave until I was gone.

2024.11.25 23:40 bananachip868 I lost an acquaintance/friend over a year ago. Struggling with guilt.

I'm feeling guilty because we never got to know each other on a personal level. She was in my drama class in secondary school and she passed away when we were both in Year 11 (when I was 15). She had a condition which is nicknamed butterfly syndrome, and she was in a wheelchair and spent long periods of time off school. However, when she was in school and in the drama class, we were often in the same group when we were doing plays, and I remember pushing her in her wheelchair (with consent) so she wouldn't be left out when we played games. We sat together quite frequently and laughed about things, and we enjoyed each other's company. Every time her and her assistant passed by my maths classroom, we'd wave at each other too.
A couple of days before she passed, some teachers from the Senco department came into class and gave some sweets to people who knew her well and made an impact, and I was one of the few who got to pick some sweets. My own teaching assistant told me a day before everyone else found out, and I got an award in her honour at my secondary school's awards ceremony a year ago. I'm grateful for all of these things, but I just can't shake the feeling like I didn't deserve any of it. I wasn't close to her on a personal level. We didn't talk about deep things in our lives or even know each other's birthdays or favourite colours. I only knew what she actually suffered from two days before she passed.
I reacted pretty strongly when I found out, but my emotional reactions felt like they were quickly shut down because everyone else seemed to be coping well, and so I masked my feelings. However, when I went to see Wicked yesterday, the moment where a character invites another character in a wheelchair to dance just made memories flood back in and now I'm lost.
I feel like a fraud and an attention seeker for even feeling this way. As I'm now in Year 13 (I'm 17), this may just be my mind starting to crumble under a bunch of academic stress (Oxford interview decisions, A level mocks, university stuff, etc), but I really don't know what to do. I just hope any of y'all have similar experiences. Thank you.
