Hello! I've been an ambulatory wheelchair user for about 3 years now and have always used relatively basic chairs that are quite difficult to self-propel.
My health has recently further declined quite significantly to the point where most days I need the use of my chair to leave the house for a trip more than about 200m (at a stretch) but as I rarely have the help of someone to push me, I often just can't go out.
This has had a profound impact on my ability to attend university, see friends and my mental health in general so after contemplating for months I've decided that honestly I just need a new chair. The problem being that as of right now I'm unable to work and have tried reaching out for government support to no avail, meaning my already struggling finances are even tighter now.
I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience? Whether you managed to get a light-weight custom wheelchair through the NHS (for an energy-limiting condition or joint problems specifically) or perhaps used some level of crowd funding?
I'm also looking into other social care avenues that might help me get a better chair but honestly I don't think this will pan out, as the majority of help they offer focuses on home care support etc.
I'm in the UK and honestly any help/ advice you might have I would really appreciate!

 | I'd like to propose a redesign of the male superhero skins head. Right now it just seems a lil bit flat in the back and not too good (in my opinion). No disrespect to the game designers of course. I've added a bit of volume in the back of the head, and added the effect of a face shell in the front face. I don't know if epic sees these cosmetic suggestions but it'd be nice if they considered it. I've attached a video of the old design first and my design second. Ignore the colour combination, just for the purpose of the concept. Hope y'all like it and tell me if you agree or disagree. I was attempting to sign up to an Amex card and in doing the eligibility check it declined. The same happened for multiple credit eligibility checks. After some googling I got myself on to equifax and checked it out properly. Everything was in order apart from one card that showed I had a credit card with a bank that I had never taken out! Itâs been opened since 2018 and payments have been outgoing until November 2023. I received multiple letters from the bank which I took to the bank physically and they said it was not them and they hadnât sent me any letters for a while. They also confirmed I didnât have any credit cards with them.
Iâm seriously stuck on what the next steps should be in terms of solving this issue and resolving my credit score as it has always been great.

See title lol. I graduated with a degree in psychology, I'm currently getting a post-grad certificate in autism and behavioural sciences. HOWEVER I have only ever had retail jobs. I have a placement for a month during school where I shadow an RBT and BCBA but that'll be the only direct experience I have. I'm not sure how to make any sort of positive impression/get hired with literally nothing to make me stand out

Halloween 2009 (my personal favorite portrayal of michael myers. Nothing more intimidating than a 6ft9), psychotic Michael myers. I also love the backstory of this Michael myers which adds more layers to him and makes him feel real. Rob zombie did great)

Halloween 2018 (My personal favorite Halloween film. It's just excellent from start to finish and all around solid. Also Old Michael myers is the creepiest. Something so unsettling about a old man thats unstoppable with superrhuman strength, and no moral compass murdering anything and everything in his way)

I decided to order the first on dvd because i realized i went all this time without seeing the first and here is how i feel.
The atmosphere, soundtrack, and pacing is excellent. Probably the best atmosphere in the series thanks to the iconic eerie soundtrack, and great camera work. I like how the film is a slow build to the night of michael myers killing spree. However thats all the good i can say about it.
I know this film had a low budget, and it's the first in the series, but DAMN those kills are laughably bad. The horrible acting doesn't help either (for example when Michael killed his sister in the beginning she screams like she is in pleasure instead of pain). It's not a film i would watch all the time, but still worth it for the atmosphere.

So a lady came up with some hooks from our DA of Christmas ornaments (specifically the bigger ones in plastic boxes) not the ultra jumbo ornaments.
There was 40% sale above that for the ornaments yet the hooks clearly are not part of it. She calls me over to ask why the sale isnât coming off the hooks.
Oh I donât know. Maybe because they ARE NOT on sale? The sign literally says â40% off Ornamentsâ and lists all the ornaments at whatever price theyâre at.
The sign literally says nothing about the hooks. Just because theyâre on the side of the same DA does not mean theyâre on sale when the sign specifically indicates ornaments not hooks.
I ended up giving it anyway since my SM green lit it but itâs still stupid. When I explained that they arenât on sale she went:
âYou should really move the sign, because itâs a âmisleading signâ â yes, because a sign that explicitly says ORNAMENTS and excludes hooks is misleading đ

I have been trying to get out of the house lately I want to make new friends and have fun like I used to before POTS but like its so hard and I always get scared what if I pass out or get too tired that I become stuck somewhere and its always scary talking to people while standing what if I just suddenly need to sit down. - First Week of November: During the first week of November, OTTO users saw great returns, even amid market fluctuations.
- Drawdown - The Trump Trade (Black Swan): On November 4th, OTTO was in some gold trades when a CPI report came out much different than the market expected due to the upcoming elections. During this time, OTTO users experienced their first drawdown higher than 3%.

2024.11.25 23:19 zoalfacedreamer Good news! I finally got my dose after almost 5 days.
I actually couldnât make the chemist until 5 minutes before they closed but they were still able to see me and give me my 6mg of Espranor. If my taxi was like an extra 5 minutes late, I wouldâve been fucked as I couldnât handle another night like the past few ones. I went to the hospital this morning after going to the chemist first thing but they told me that they had to cancel and return my prescription back to my drugs worker as I hadnât shown up since Wednesday but they called over and was able to get it reinstated, but I was already in A&E at this point. Total waste of time as they just told me to go back home and wait to see my drugs worker tomorrow to discuss my current medication and work out whatâs best to help me. No point even going to hospital if youâre withdrawing because they literally wonât give you it. I begged them and they told me just to wait until tomorrow but thankfully I made it just in time to the chemist. Last time, my worker suggested switching to Methadone as I told her that Espranor doesnât give me that cuddly, warm, content feeling that I used to get from Co-codamol. I miss it so much, man. Any suggestions on what to talk about? I just want to feel calm and content again without constantly thinking about wishing to be high on codeine again. Iâve heard that M is harder to get off of and also the worst for withdrawals. Are the pros stronger than the cons? I was addicted to codeine for about 4/5 years and have been on Espranor for about 3. I just donât get that kind of buzz anymore and itâs so shite and actually causes me to get cravings again.
