2024.11.25 23:30 Troglodyte_Techie Any advice on what to do when you kill a engine?
Hey all!
I have a 2015 Highlander I've loved so far. But the other day I was driving along and the coolant temp light came on. I pulled off, waited a while and when I started the car it seemed it was good to go so I kept going.
Maybe 10 minutes after getting back up on the road the the temp light came on again, then the traction control shut off and the temp gauge shut off. I was in the middle of traffic and couldn't pull off for another 5-10 minutes. By the time I was able to hit the shoulder the engine light came on for maybe 10 seconds, then the engine died.
I towed it to the nearest Toyota and have been quoted $29k for a new engine, or $10k for a used engine to be put in. Plus another couple grand for the failed radiator.
I'm pretty shook as the car was purchased new, maintained and has about 85K miles on it. I wasn't expecting to have to deal with this kind of thing anytime soon.
All of that said. How would you play this? Eat the $10k, Part it out, see if I can get some credit for a trade? I'm just a bit stuck on this one. Thanks for any ideas.

Need advice. I’m in Canada and been waiting to get into an endometriosis clinic for a diagnosis. No ultrasounds have picked up anything and my doctor referred me to a private mri clinic where I pay out of pocket for a contrast pelvic mri. I’m reading mixed opinions and experiences on whether it’s worth it or not. Was yours picked up on the MRI? Should I pay to get it done? Any advice is helpful. Thank you!

Aos 18 anos, iniciei um Técnico em Edificações com duração de dois anos, oferecido pelo estado da cidade onde moro. O curso era subsequente, ou seja, focado exclusivamente no conteúdo técnico. Durante o curso, enfrentei alguns desafios, como a falta de professores em alguns momentos e períodos de greve, situações que costumam ser menos frequentes em instituições particulares. No entanto, isso não comprometeu a qualidade do aprendizado, já que o conteúdo abordado tinha uma carga excelente e abrangia temas relevantes para a área.
Escolhi esse curso porque, aos 14 anos, havia concluído um técnico em Desenho pelo SENAI, com duração de um ano, onde aprendi sobre projetos mecânicos e civis. Essa experiência me deu uma noção clara do que esperar de Edificações. Após concluir o curso, realizei um estágio na área, também pelo estado, e a experiência foi incrível. Desenvolvi autonomia comprovada na prática, e, em poucos meses, já era responsável por diversas atividades relacionadas às obras. Meu relatório de estágio e meu TCC foram avaliados com nota máxima. Apesar disso, desde que me formei, ainda não consegui uma colocação na área. Percebo uma certa estranheza por parte dos entrevistadores quanto à instituição onde estudei, talvez pelo fato de ser pública e não ter o mesmo peso de um SENAI, por exemplo. Isso pode gerar receios, mesmo com a CRT ativa e a confiança que tenho nas minhas competências na área. Atualmente, faço estágio em Engenharia Mecânica, onde meu trabalho envolve responsabilidades semelhantes às de um técnico, mas com a coordenação de obras relacionadas à mecânica.

 | Lazy wiring caused wires to melt and killed the relay to a heating element on an older Aire-Flo unit. I’m told the relays cannot be sourced any longer. Three years ago they switched out a similar dead relay for a D-90340 any reason I can’t do that for the other two relays, only ones dead but I’d rather get ahead of the last one? Anyone else experiencing this? Just got the game last week and am currently going for AK headshots. I have a class setup for the AK with blue perks, stim shots, a camo on the gun, and a non-default reticle. I join a game of nuketown, select my class, and i spawn in with concussions, no camo, the default reticle, and random perks. I KNOW I selected my custom class because I selected it a second time during gameplay, died, spawned in with the correct class, died again, now I have the wrong class again despite not changing my class. WTF????
