2024.11.26 00:20 Block-Busted If 'Dune: Part Two' AND 'The Wild Robot' gets nominated for Best Picture Oscar, but don't end up winning, I don't think it will be due to sequel set-ups.
So it's pretty likely that Dune: Part Two will be nominated for Best Picture Oscar while The Wild Robot is not since this world is terrible, but even if they get nominated, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't win since, once again, this world is terrible. Having said that, I don't think they're going to lose due to sequel set-ups. Let me explain.
Let's take a look at Dune: Part Two. We know that this is not the end of the story and there will be one more film coming out in few years, not to mention that it DOES have some noticeable sequel set-ups, but one thing to remember is that this film still completes the adaptation of the first book and gets its message across pretty well by showing dangers of heroism and how that can lead to catastrophe. At the very least, this film has some sort of a conclusive story as Paul Atreides descends to madness.
This goes similar with The Wild Robot. Not only the film completes the first book already, but even though it implies that Roz's story will continue, it still ends with Roz promising that she will still be herself and the film BLATANTLY shows that she was right when she recognizes Brightbill even though she obviously got renovated(?). It doesn't leave anything open to the interpretation - it flat-out shows that this is the same Roz whom we all know.
So yeah, even though they're probably not likely to win Best Picture Oscar, sequel set-ups won't be reasons why they ended up losing since they're still given proper conclusions to their stories that they were planning to tell.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?

So the only things so far I wish could've been implemented in Stalker 2 was the comprehensive weapon mod from Anomaly. I miss being able to collect and strip down 60t of weapons to get the parts I need to repair my own weapon. That was like 60% of my game in Anomaly, but it prevents you from wasting 17K to repair your Dragunov after one battle...

I just don't get why there is mana in this game. It doesn't bring anything interesting, at best it punish you for fight8ng different team back to back by preventing your from using your spells.. and that's it. Really i don't understand the point of a ressource being useless 90% of the time, and punishing you for getting ganked. Just remove it ?

Ya know. Ekko's scene, sitting alone lighting the paper (meaning, the last place we see him) is absolutely set before we see the balloon flying away, with what we are led to assume is Jinx on board.
There really is nothing to say he isn't on it, too.
We don't see the Firelights reform, and even if they did, they spend months without him at this point. Sevika seems to be leading/protecting most people in Zaun.
Honestly yes. I genueinely want to believe he is there with her. Maybe it's a crack theory at this point, but it's giving me some solace right now so, it is what it is XD.

I've been reading what Kevin has been commenting about how the FYP works, how ~30 videos do better, having people watch them helps, that engagement on post and profile help, likes help, comments help. All of this makes sense. So I decided to test it.
I made a ~30 second video with an intentionally mumbled code word (this was on purpose and was great--very few people commented the same thing so people actually had to watch the video) around the 20 second mark. I posted the video with the same video as the preview so everyone could see it. I made sure all of my settings allowed anyone to come in, see the post, and comment. Along with the video, I had text that said, hey, tell me the code word in this video and answer this random other question in a comment and I will send you a free one minute full nude sexy video. I also said that if you didn't want to comment but instead just liked the post, I would message you twelve nude pics (whoever liked it, I sent them the pics and was all "hey, if you go comment on that post, I can send you a videooooo"). All my hashtags were my usual tags.
This post had more activity (comments (~40)/likes (~45)) on it than any post on my feed in the past several months, possibly for the entire year. The majority (~60%?) of the commenters and "likers" of the post were people who weren't subbed to me or following (but then followed or subbed as a result of this, yay).
I waited a week before checking my FYP. Which you see here.
Look, I have a degree in sociology. I'm the person that my friends send articles about some recent study and the accompanying graphs and I go through them and tell them how the study is flawed, how the graphs are not being read right, how the numbers are presented poorly or skewed. I groove on this shit.
And I cannot make this make sense. No matter how I look at these numbers, I cannot make anything work. I cannot explain how my most active post of the year--designed based on Kevin's information on how to work the FYP successfully--did worse (numbers-wise) than any of my other posts that will have maybe two comments and ten likes. Literally the post before the test post did better and it had ZERO comments and 14 likes.
I know views and visitors stack over time, which is why I waited a week before checking the results. But I might as well have not even tried this test for as much as it impacted my FYP. (For the new followers and subs I got from it, it was great.)
Something is broken. I don't think it's broken on purpose. A lot of stuff on Fansly is... obtusely designed. Maybe it's one of those things where you thinking you're so good at code (or whatever) that you must be good at everything so you never take feedback or instruction when it would make you a better product (and more money) because you're so up your own ass. I see this a lot in tech, so it's not a huge leap that might be what's happening here.
If I thought this was on purpose I'd be ranting about the purposeful obfuscation of basic tools that we need in order to perform our jobs to the best of our ability, but I really don't think it's that.
Anyhow, the lesson I am taking away from all of this is that success will not be--is unable to be--measured by the numbers we're shown on the FYP graphs. Success is measured by our earnings (and happiness) alone.

 | This is an MSI Delta 15 AMD Advantage. So I basically have this issue where my wifi adapter kept going in and out for some reason, like the ability to connect to wifi was just gone sometimes. I tried fixing it whenever it would turn back on by just network resetting or restarting. That really didn't work and so I kept looking but no one had solutions, or they all required me to do something on the laptop which required internet, to which I could not connect to. So like any idiot who uses a laptop for school, games, and playing guitar, I got desperate and decided to Uninstaller and reinstall the driver. To the shock of no one, that worked for two seconds. The internet went in and out, so when I checked device manager, it was because of there now being two wifi adapters. So like any idiot I decided to get rid of the "faulty" one considering the other one was working, and that worked...until it didn't. I tried going into battery saver cause I thought it was linked to battery drain, to which I did a bunch of steps for nothing cause windows took out the option to, and I decided to check again and was met with all of these adapters. Outside of the obviousness of asking for help BEFORE diy-ing my $1400 laptop, I need help with this adapter thing because even reinstalling an adapter doesn't work, because the laptop has one it just disconnects or something.
