So I'm playing as Durge atm and I'm lvl10, my question is, is it to early to fight Orin, and can i do the fight and then continue with other things in act 3. I've only done a few things in act 3 and completed the shadowhart DJ quest line, so could I theoretically fight Orin now and not force the endgame before I'm ready.

McDojos are something of a silent epidemic in suburbia. These strip mall facilities, which look almost identical to decent Karate or Tae Kwon Do schools, scam you into thinking you are a black belt by teaching you crappy technique, all while pocketing your money.
Some signs of a McDojo – and parallels with "The Deuce" and his baseball class
- McDojos might include "black belt fast track programs" or "guarantee a black belt" – yet earning said black belt requires nowhere near the same rigor as earning one from an accredited martial arts facility. Even if it did, a program cannot guarantee success. You need to try. The Deuce made similar empty promises.
- Inauthentic technique, sometimes branded as "innovations" or the teacher's "personal variant" on the art. "California Style Karate" – "Fire Tiger Kung Fu" – "Natalie's Tactical Approach to American Tae Kwon Do" – "John Smith's Krav Maga Method". Indeed, there are different styles of karate, for example, and some of them were recent inventions. But unless the style has already spread wide, there's a good chance that it means that the teacher actually hasn't mastered any established styles, and that the "innovations" are really just attempts to cover up a lack of deeper knowledge. This isn't impressionist art or avant garde electronic music – this is a sport... Why spend good money for your child to learn their own personal variant of baseball?
- Emphasis on exclusive practice in the dojo. The staff doesn't want you to train anywhere else. The Deuce locks the kids in similarly.
- No emphasis on actual combat. You're taught the punches, kicks, and whatnot, but never get a chance to spar. You simply won't learn that way. Do the kids ever play baseball for The Deuce, or do they just run around and fidget with bats? You can already run around a public park for FREE courtesy of the city's taxpayers!
- Emphasis on poseur attitude, but paradoxically no deeper knowledge of history. McDojos might try to maintain a stereotypical Japanese aesthetic even if they teach Korean Tae-Kwon-Do. They might insist that you address your schoolteacher as sir or ma'am or otherwise adjust your behavior outside of class, or teach you gratuitous Japanese or Korean – even if it's Krav Maga or Kung Fu. However, the artists might know very little about the history and culture of their arts besides the fact that they're old and from the other side of the Pacific. They might not know of one famous martial artist besides Bruce Lee or maybe Jackie Chan. Similarly, The Deuce was all talk about baseball. He knew just enough about it, though, to tell you the story about "the famous baseball player who had Lou Gherig's Disease."
- Parents are none the wiser. They might not know that you're at a McDojo. They might not even think of martial arts as much of a sport, but as a self-defense program to help you fight stranger danger. Do the parents know much about The Deuce?

I was born in 1992 and completely identity as millennial. Earlier today I was doing some reading and was surprised when I saw that 1992 often falls under the “zillenial” category. Obviously 1992 is in the last half of the generation, but I didn’t realize it’s considered cusp and up in the air where you exactly belong. I feel like my high school years of 2006-2010 fall in line with a millennial experience. I also find it funny that my grade was 1991/92 babies, but 1991 isn’t considered cusp by most sources.
Not that any of this is too serious, but I’ve decided I’m just going to keep going with Millennial whenever the topic comes up. Do other people in this range just go by millennial as well?

2024.11.26 00:25 Possible-Echo-3302 Burnt out meter box
Chasing a bit of know how, we built a new home about four years ago and without any warning had all power go out with the main breaker lock into the halfway on position.
Got the sparkies out, turns out half the board was loose apparently resulting in cabling burning out. Total cost of repair about $500 and builder has said this is something that happens sometimes and is not under warranty.
Is this something that can just ‘happen’ or is this slack work by the original sparky? Should I be worried about the rest of the termination in the house?

The audiologist I worked with today quoted me $3,700 for some Audeo I 50s, $5,100 for some I 70s, and $5,790 for the I 90s. There is a 45 day trial and I can get 100% of my money back if I don’t like them. But I have to pay upfront. This comes with some 3 year warranty where they will replace lost or damaged devices for $400.
Anyhow, I’m just wondering if I can expect to see any noticeable difference. I’m not often in environments where there is a lot of background noise but I sometimes am. For example, at work about 30% of my time is in areas where there is background noise. I do often have to ask people to repeat themselves.
Any advice or guidance is appreciated.
I have never had HA before.

My grandma had a stroke several years ago and can only use one hand now to style her hair. She's a former hair dresser so not being able to style her hair the way she likes has been hard for her. She just told me today that her curling iron broke. Her curling iron is the only hot hair tool she uses and it was a standard curling iron with a clip and I know she struggled with it as well.
Does anyone know of any curling hair tools that would be easy for her to use with one hand? Her hair dries very straight and is pretty thin.

Hi! Long story short, my partner is currently in a financially and emotionally abusive household, and things are.. rough. Their mental health is deteriorating rapidly due to stress, causing them to be unable to work some days due to the stress making them physically ill, and their mom (who they live with) is threatening to kick them out into a dangerous city and negative temps if they don't get back to work (they have 3 jobs) and keep adding to a joint bank account she can access. They do have a second account though that we've been stashing tips and commission money in, leaving them with about $200 total that they can actually spend right now. Paychecks are auto-deposited into the shared one with their mom and touching that account to add to their actual savings is basically an automatic kick out.
We have until Thanksgiving to get them out, it sounds like.
This is urgent, as they have no other family, friends, shelters, or a car to stay in. We're hoping to get them enough to move to me instead, as I'm currently the closest and have a car. I also have a job lined up for them in my city. We just aren't sure how to make the jump to get them here on so few resources.
So.. advice? Has anyone been in a similar situation before, and if so how did you survive it? Any ideas for what we can try? Local resources for them are really limited, so we're kinda running out of ideas, as most of what I came up with depended on that.
