2024.11.26 00:20 BonerGhosts I Ran an FYP Test on Fansly, Here's What Happened
(cross-posting here from Fansly Advice in case they take it down)
I've been reading what Kevin has been commenting about how the FYP works, how ~30 videos do better, having people watch them helps, that engagement on post and profile help, likes help, comments help. All of this makes sense. So I decided to test it.
I made a ~30 second video with an intentionally mumbled code word (this was on purpose and was great--very few people commented the same thing so people actually had to watch the video) around the 20 second mark. I posted the video with the same video as the preview so everyone could see it. I made sure all of my settings allowed anyone to come in, see the post, and comment. Along with the video, I had text that said, hey, tell me the code word in this video and answer this random other question in a comment and I will send you a free one minute full nude sexy video. I also said that if you didn't want to comment but instead just liked the post, I would message you twelve nude pics (whoever liked it, I sent them the pics and was all "hey, if you go comment on that post, I can send you a videooooo"). All my hashtags were my usual tags.
This post had more activity (comments (~40)/likes (~45)) on it than any post on my feed in the past several months, possibly for the entire year. The majority (~60%?) of the commenters and "likers" of the post were people who weren't subbed to me or following (but then followed or subbed as a result of this, yay).
I waited a week before checking my FYP. Which you see here.
Look, I have a degree in sociology. I'm the person that my friends send articles about some recent study and the accompanying graphs and I go through them and tell them how the study is flawed, how the graphs are not being read right, how the numbers are presented poorly or skewed. I groove on this shit.
And I cannot make this make sense. No matter how I look at these numbers, I cannot make anything work. I cannot explain how my most active post of the year--designed based on Kevin's information on how to work the FYP successfully--did worse (numbers-wise) than any of my other posts that will have maybe two comments and ten likes. Literally the post before the test post did better and it had ZERO comments and 14 likes.
I know views and visitors stack over time, which is why I waited a week before checking the results. But I might as well have not even tried this test for as much as it impacted my FYP. (For the new followers and subs I got from it, it was great.)
Something is broken. I don't think it's broken on purpose. A lot of stuff on Fansly is... obtusely designed. Maybe it's one of those things where you thinking you're so good at code (or whatever) that you must be good at everything so you never take feedback or instruction when it would make you a better product (and more money) because you're so up your own ass. I see this a lot in tech, so it's not a huge leap that might be what's happening here.
If I thought this was on purpose I'd be ranting about the purposeful obfuscation of basic tools that we need in order to perform our jobs to the best of our ability, but I really don't think it's that.
Anyhow, the lesson I am taking away from all of this is that success will not be--is unable to be--measured by the numbers we're shown on the FYP graphs. Success is measured by our earnings (and happiness) alone.

 | This is an MSI Delta 15 AMD Advantage. So I basically have this issue where my wifi adapter kept going in and out for some reason, like the ability to connect to wifi was just gone sometimes. I tried fixing it whenever it would turn back on by just network resetting or restarting. That really didn't work and so I kept looking but no one had solutions, or they all required me to do something on the laptop which required internet, to which I could not connect to. So like any idiot who uses a laptop for school, games, and playing guitar, I got desperate and decided to Uninstaller and reinstall the driver. To the shock of no one, that worked for two seconds. The internet went in and out, so when I checked device manager, it was because of there now being two wifi adapters. So like any idiot I decided to get rid of the "faulty" one considering the other one was working, and that worked...until it didn't. I tried going into battery saver cause I thought it was linked to battery drain, to which I did a bunch of steps for nothing cause windows took out the option to, and I decided to check again and was met with all of these adapters. Outside of the obviousness of asking for help BEFORE diy-ing my $1400 laptop, I need help with this adapter thing because even reinstalling an adapter doesn't work, because the laptop has one it just disconnects or something. 2024.11.26 00:19 Itchy-Mycologist939 MS Licensing for home computer / occasional office work?
Any MS licensing experts here?
I got a referral from my former boss for one of his colleagues. He wants me to setup his new home PC with Microsoft 365 (among other things).
I suggested to just get MS 365 Personal or Family since the computer is only to be used at home and checking occasional work emails or documents won't be an issue. He then said he was told he needs 1 license for each company he manages on the same computer (he is the owner of 3 businesses). I said I'd do some research and get back.
I tried reaching out to MS but I got mixed answers after being transferred a few times.
I was always under the impression that personal licenses can only be used at home and so long as the majority of your license use is for personal. Meaning, if you work from home, then it's a business license requirement. However, if you have a dedicated business computer and just want to occasionally use your personal for work, then it's not an issue. By this I mean, you do your 9-5 on your work and the 1 or 2 hours in the evening you use your home PC for "work".
Also, the part with 3 licenses also seems crazy. Yes, the companies are different but it is still the same person and device.

My account was fully verified, my card was on file, in my own name and matching my documentation. I had bought in and redeemed MANY TIMES and REALLY loved Chanced.
About 3 months ago, they turned off my ability to buy in. The day it happened, over the course of 24 hours, I had spent about $80 on 5 SC and 20 SC packages. Again, using my card that THEY HAD REDEEMED TO SEVERAL TIMES.
I messaged and asked why and got the run around for about a week while they "looked into it" then I got a message saying it was "likely" because I had bought a couple back to back $5 packages and triggered their fraud alert. Then, crickets. Nothing.
Today, I went on and claimed my daily and just decided to message again and see why I still couldn't buy in.
They claimed I was supposed to send in "compliance documents" so I asked when and what they wanted. This conversation was happening with "Joshua" though emails.
Suddenly, someone named "Alecs" jumps in and says:
Please be advised that your account was found to be in violation of our Terms of Service and, as a result, your account is now closed. Thank you!

No explanation. No reason. No nothing.
People don't deserve this kind of treatment from companies we willingly give our money to.
I'm glad they did it now that this happened.
I wasn't in violation of ANYTHING. I did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong.
I didn't do anything reckless like having multiple accounts or buying large packages. I NEVER, nor would ever, did a charge back or dispute. I had referrals on my account and I was a normal, good customer.
Chanced is scummy, period. I don't care how fast they pay or if their games are fun. When you treat paying customers like this for no reason, you're just scummy.
