2024.11.26 00:20 mr_spock9 How did I do for my first ski purchase? Salomon Stance 84s
After going down the rabbit hole of online ski research, I finally bit the bullet and bought these skis today. I was considering a few others (Maverick 86C, Mindbender 85, Rossignol Experience) w demo bindings or w/o, but knowing the Salomon brand and seeing great reviews for these skis had me sold. I also was in between getting non-metal vs metal skis, reading all differing opinions on whether my skill level needs a 'Ti' ski, and if just a carbon/wood ski would be enough. I heard from someone saying one layer of metal is the sweet spot- well, I saw these skis have that and also read these are still playful & light enough to provide a good balance.
On width as well- I have skied the typical narrow rentals my whole life, so going 90+ wide just seemed unnecessary and too clunky for me and my typical usage (mostly groomers) despite a lot of models going into that range. I think i will be perfectly happy with these skis.
I have not gotten boots or bindings yet- If anyone has suggestions for bindings for these skis that would be great.

 | I replaced the flimsy folding stock on my Spear LT with the folding tube adapter from Sig so I can use Magpul stocks. In order to keep the folding mechanism from doing its job, I used 5 retaining rings (c-type clips)from McMaster-Carr to fill the gap in the hinge pin . Now it doesn’t fold and I need to use a tool to remove these clips. Is this good enough for the DOJ overlords? Both sides suffered devastating losses. The lack of fresh manpower caused desertions and hospitalizations among the shell-shocked survivors. Relentless artillery barrages, referred to by some troopers as a “blue wave,” smashed through defensive positions from two directions. The sudden collapse of the frontline disrupted supply chains and communication. Many convoys and vehicles were either captured or destroyed by the enemy.
A desperate counteroffensive of 400 men to break the encirclement resulted in a brutal defeat—350 were killed or wounded after eight hours of intense fighting.
The fall of The Precession shattered morale. The high casualty toll made its loss a turning point. Within just four days, “The Latch” was seized, with defenders forced out by combined arms assaults. 2024.11.26 00:20 wp254 Monitor suddenly turned off. Will work for 10 seconds if replugged in, then stop again
This is an old old VGA monitor, that is currently ran through a VGA to displayport adapter (ya, real set up here) to my video card. Has always worked, zero issues. Suddenly a few minutes ago, that screen went off. The green light on it is still on, but no visual. It is also still detected by my PC.
When I disconnect it from my video card and reconnect, the screen turns back on again working like normal, but only for 10-15 seconds, then turns off again. When the screen is off, I can even drag windows to it from my main monitor, just can't see them. Any idea what this could be about? I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Last night, the dishwasher made some loud popping noises mid-cycle, and a breaker tripped at the box outside the house.
After resetting the breaker and running the dishwasher again, a louder grinding noise ensued and smoke started coming from somewhere inside it.
After unplugging the dishwasher and resetting the breaker a second time, the breaker hasn’t tripped since.
Is it safe to assume a malfunction with the dishwasher is the most likely culprit? I ask because I recently had to deal with mice in my garage and worry about them having chewed electrical wiring someplace. No sign of mice in the house at all, but I set some traps under the sink just to see.

I keep on seeing motivational quotes like “knowing what you want in life will take you much further than if you don’t” and I can’t help but find it extremely frustrating.
I’m 26 yo, did a law degree, passed the bar, can’t find a job as a lawyer and frankly i’m starting to feel like I just don’t want it. The problem is i’ve tried following techniques to find what i want to do and I just can’t seem to stick to one thing.
I’ve tried finding my Ikigai and doing personality tests. I’ve tried journaling and focusing on what i understand about the life i want. All of that hasn’t really help me understand what i want to do in life.
Am I really never going to find what I want to do?

My buddy got banned about a year ago. Like a lifetime ban, no appeal. Not exactly sure what happened but my guess is account sharing.
Recently we were talking and I told him he’d still have a lot of stuff tied to his bnet, so he might be able to start again without a whole lot of setback.
He tried it. Bought all the stuff for a new account. Leveled a character to 80. Was getting ready for raiding. Today he got banned again.
I’m presuming he didn’t do anything specific to get banned this time around from the conversation we had, so I’m curious if perhaps his perma-ban from his other account applies to every wow account on his bnet?

Just found a post about holostars content.
Half the comments are about how some just don’t like holostars for some reason and people get really antagonistic about it. Like there’s so many downvoted comments that’s way more than you would see in a normal post.
Why? It’s just the boys side of the company so why are people so upset about holostars content in this sub or in general? Is there some context I’m missing here or is it something really simple?
