Y’all despite being thousands behind on child support (he only has to pay $500 a month) and never reimbursing me anything that he owes for the children this man went and bought a PIG!! And no, he doesn’t live on a farm, he lives in a residential neighborhood with an HOA that he owes thousands of dollars to who have already put a lien on the house. He told the kids today that he’s getting a second pig and he’s going to get piglets to harvest the meat. WTF. This man drove around last month on a donut tire because he couldn’t afford a new tire until his pay check came in. Also the kids and I live about 2 1/2 hours away and he drives down and stays with his parents, who live nearby me, on the weekends he gets the kids. I have no idea what he is going to do with the pig when he is gone, leave it in the tiny backyard? That poor pig, idk who decided to give him a pig but they made a bad choice.

I just got my results from AncestryDNA back today and found out I’m nine percent Mexican on my dad’s side, so I assumed my dad would have twice as much as me? Then I noticed it says that parent 1’s DNA percentage plus parent 2’s makes up the percentage of the person taking the test. So now I am super confused, how does it not get smaller each generation? Does that mean if I have a kid with someone with zero percent indigenous Mexican DNA, that my kid will also have 9 percent? That makes no sense to me at all. I thought it was like if a black person has a kid with a white person then the kid would be half black? What’s the difference in this scenario?

Has anyone dealt with feeling a lack of “connection” when re-meeting?
i really need some support tonight. my night has been filled with so many tears. i have been with my girlfriend for 2.5 years. we have met in person 4 times. i’m currently visiting her in germany for 2 months, i’m about a week in. the past few days i have noticed that she’s been a bit distant with me. the physical stuff like hugs and kisses aren’t as much as previous times. especially if i don’t initiate or ask about them. we’re so good with communication and talking things out. i asked her what’s wrong and she just said she feels a bit off with me but doesn’t know exactly why. but that it could be because we haven’t seen each other in a year and maybe it’s bc of that and getting used to each other again. it’s also my first time meeting her family this time around so it could also be the stress of that? has anyone else ever gone thru this? where it’s been a while since you last met and it takes a bit of getting used to? she says she’s trying really hard to just getting past this but feels like since it’s been a while since we last met, she can’t “connect” to me. and that maybe it’s just a rough patch. i’m just at a loss bc this is not like us at all. this is the healthiest relationship i’ve been in. we always support each other. we communicate and talk things out. we’ve always made it thru rough patches, e.g. her graduating medical school, starting a residency, hectic job schedules, etc. we love each other so much. both of us have always said we are it for each other. etc. she just kept crying tonight saying she doesn’t know what exactly the problem is regarding her being distant or how to fix it but that she’s trying so hard to feel okay again. she’s felt like this for the past 2 days. i just can’t help my overthinking and i’m so scared she’ll think we are growing apart and end this relationship with me. she said she still loves me and has feelings for me and i’m trying to trust that. what do i need to do? just give her space? it’s hard to fix something when both of us don’t know what exactly the root cause is. i’m so scared of losing her. is it just because we haven’t seen each other in a while and it feels weird to connect the irl person to the one we always talk to over the phone? my overthinking is getting the best of me.

Hi,
Hypothyroid since childhood. Also have Crohn's on immune supression for two years.
Recent 2x Thyroid function tests have come back with a higher than normal Tsh and a very high freeT4. TSH 5.6 mmol/l (upper end ref range 4.5) Ft4 30.5 mmol/l (upper end ref range 19)
On 150mcg thyroxine for at least ten years.
I take it religiously at 6am, fasted with water and no caffiene or food until 40-60 mins after. I feel great in myself and have lost weight and fat intentionally through a regimen of exercise over 5 months. I don't have any symptoms of either hypo or hyper thyroidism. I was advised to take 175mcg but then started feeling hot and had palpitations so advised to cut back to 150.
I have booked to see my family doctor and will discuss with the physicians on my Crohn's team regarding the results but any ideas regarding this ?

 | Oh boy, this was the first guy I really connected with on dating apps after getting out of a serious relationship. It was so gradual, he really didn’t push me, just periodically reached out over a month. He slowly opened me up. I wasn’t ready at first. He came on really strong at first saying even tho we lived 2 hrs way he couldn’t help but reach out and I was exactly his type. But then backed off and was really just letting me take my time to open up. He revealed himself to be a genuine and kind person with almost everything I am looking for and we aligned on most values, and had really good chemistry. He asked me so many deep questions about myself and my past and showed a lot of care. When we finally spoke on FT it accidentally lasted 3 hrs bc we couldn’t stop talking. He was so funny too. But!! We never met in person! Communication decreased for a couple days and when I asked when he would be up my way, he dropped this bomb about work being too busy for 3 months and we shouldn’t continue at all. I was shocked bc I thought we were taking it slow. He didn’t even want to put it on pause, no discussion, just ended it. He did compliment me in this long voice recording of all the good qualities I had but that he wouldn’t be able to give me 100% and it wasn’t fair to me. Cited the distance as well, even tho originally he acted like he didn’t even care. I at least wanted to know the real reason or what he realized was incompatible. He kept saying it was just work, and distance. I keep thinking of him because this really threw me for a loop and I don’t feel I have closure!! I wouldn’t have told him everything about me if I knew he was just going to cut it off. I’m so exhausted from it- I have no mental energy to invest emotionally with other guys I’m talking to. I really want to reach back out to him and see what’s good, I don’t know just ask if anything changed or if he wants to give me the closure of the actual incompatibility he noticed. I don’t know. I don’t have closure. I don’t want to be crazy tho. He probably found someone local who he liked better. Which is fine! But please- Talk me off the ledge I guess. He said he didn’t want to cut contact or block so we are still on each others socials but he hasnt said a word to me since this day.
