 | So a brief rundown of the meme’s first surge in popularity: @phillipbankss first drew My New Character (MNC) and posted him on twitter. People started saying he looked like a character from the show “Arthur”. Then someone posted on TikTok screenshots from the show with MNC edited in, the joke being that he blended in quite well. Then people started editing him into more franchises, cosplaying as him, drawing him and versions of him, etc. In this time we also got the viral motivational speech animation. Eventually, around September, the meme died after a decent and healthy lifespan. But then TERROR struck. The meme reached twitter (ik the image is from twitter but the meme was really born and raised on TikTok). People on twitter, who are naturally less funny, brought back the meme in an ill form. These people have taken the essence of the meme and killed it. This is worse than a meme being dragged: our meme is being COLONIZED. These people don’t understand it: -they think the meme has only existed for weeks (the original post was from October 2023) -they have misinterpreted the meme. Instead of the jokes being “look at my new character” they are “I’m like this guy cuz I’m so chill lol” -they don’t know about the show-insert jokes -they don’t know about My Old Character or any of the variants They’ve given the meme new popularity, the kind that memes get when companies start posting about them, the kind that KILLS AND BURIES MEMES. I’m not trying to gatekeep the meme, but they don’t understand! These fake, newgen, fans refer to him as “chill guy” or “he’s just a chill guy fr” instead of MNC. The original essence and meaning of the meme is being erased. According to this, an IELTS band higher than 8 should qualify you for 20 points, and should have at least 6 in each band. However, if you have 7.5 in two individual sections and above 8 in overall band score, do the 7.5 in the individual sections matter as far as points calculation are concerned, or is the overall score of 8 good enough to get 20 points?

2024.11.26 02:20 anonymouse781 Physics states flush mounting speakers is better. Why aren't they often designed for this?
From my understanding having an in-wall, flush mounted speaker should produce the best sound because there aren't and Omni directional waves bouncing off the back wall and joining the signal out of phase.
If this is the case, why aren't speaker manufactures making speakers for this purpose very often? Furthermore, why are most people's setups with speakers freestanding away from the walls? Even some of the most famous Mastering studios don't flush mount their speakers and use sets line Dunlavy, B&W nautilus or similar.
Now, I understand some speakers aren't designed for this, such as back ported or speakers with subs build into the sides. Also some shapes such as B&W are so round they may not work flush mounted.
If speaker cabinet shapes allow for it, hould we be flush mounting our speakers? Any thoughts on this?

Hey all, my pre-trial date is set for next month but I wanted to do what I could to show the court I'm taking this stuff seriously. Can't stop beating myself up for doing this again and been pretty much in a state of depression since July so I figure to grab this by the horns. I've done about 12 AA meetings so far and the MADD course. I wanted to also get the IID installed and enroll in DUI classes, but I'm not sure which one to enroll into.
Background info: This is my 2nd DUI (.11 BAC), first was in 2019 (.09 BAC). I'm in CA. Long reasoning short, my lawyer is certain he can get my punishments to be the same as a first offender. However, I lost the DMV hearing. Flash forward to after pre-trial next month--Does the court giving me 1st offender sentencing do anything to the DMV punishments? For example, if the court gives me 3 months DUI courses, am I able to sign up for the 3-month course or, when the DMV sees that I have another conviction from 2019, compares it to what the court says, will they figure it doesn't matter and I have to do the whole 18-month anyway? I believe I read that if the court dismisses someone's case, they tell the DMV and license suspension is withdrawn. But what about this type of 'special' circumstance? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I did ask my lawyer what this means, and I stupidly didn't ask him to clarify after he explained that court and DMV are different (yes I knew that). For some stupid reason, I didn't want him to think I'm stupid so I didn't ask again (I also had so much swirling in my head at the time I didn't know how to distill any of it). Yes, lots of feeling stupid on my end going on. Thanks for reading.
