2024.11.26 02:50 homerenonyc Used 25 ft snake on a bathroom sink drain and it's still not draining. Not a venting problem. Anyone have ideas?
i had my home renovated recently. Did not change most of the piping sans adding a bathroom in the basement and importantly adjusting where the master bathroom's sink drain pipe terminated. The plan was to change the 24" vanity in the middle of the bathroom with a 72" vanity that went to the wall so we extended the pipe by around 3 ft initially. However, we ended up switching up the size and location of the vanity and further extended the pipe by around a foot with an additional U-turn (see image below).
We didn't notice any issues initially with short usages (like brushing teeth) but within days the master bathroom's sink wasn't draining properly. We snaked the drain and reached almost max of 25 ft (sans maybe 2-3 ft) around 2-3 times (we even used the drill attachment). However, it wasn't draining. We thought it might be a venting issue but I wasn't fully convinced so instead of buying and AAV, we attached an extended T pipe to see if this would provide a fix but it did not.
I'm at my wit's end and not even sure the average plumber in the area would know wtf to do at this point. The home is around 85 years old with galvanized piping. I used an ikea sink with a strange piping layout but given the 25 ft of snaking, I'm not sure that's the problem right now

2024.11.26 02:50 Alexfatstacks [UPDATE] My school's disability department is atrocious and I don't know what to do about it
I fell today. I fucking fell after my class ended. I got up from my seat and my knee and thigh gave out. It happened in front of a couple of classmates and my professor. My professor immediately called disability and different department heads. I was on the ground fighting tears. This was my fear since hurting my knee. I sent disability another note on Friday after the rude phone call as I described in my previous post. Never got a response so I had no choice but to go in today.
There is only one person who works the disability department for my entire law school. They had no clue what to do and handled it poorly today. They were thinking of getting a 60 something year old security guard to help me off the floor. My professor did not want me to get up in fear I’d hurt myself worse. I told disability to get my boyfriend who was parked outside waiting for me to get done, to come and help pick me up. I sat on the floor while the disability person got my boyfriend and had him help her pull a broken emergency wheelchair out from behind a printer. She had no clue how to set it up and relied on my boyfriend to help figure it out. He realized the chair wasn’t stable and had no breaks on it. Meanwhile she’s chit chatting a fellow faculty member and is complaining that her big toe hurts. I don’t know how my boyfriend remained composed.
They both arrive with the wonky chair and I don’t feel safe to get in it. My boyfriend picked me up and I put my weight on the bad side on him. I kept telling the disability person “this is why I sent you those notes from my surgeon, this is what I was trying to tell you about how I’ve been falling, this is humiliating, etc.” I left and went straight to the ER because the last time I fell and called my surgeon’s office, they told me to go to the ER the next time I fall. Nothing is broken thank god, but I’m pretty banged up and in a lot of pain. I’m humiliated and really upset about how it was handled and how disability said the notes from my surgeon weren’t “good enough.”
I appreciate every comment on my original post. I don’t have an obudsman, there’s no disabled student group, and there’s a single person for disability.
Now that the situation has escalated and gotten worse, what should I do?? I’m thinking about calling the vice chancellor at my school and telling him everything even though he disregards students complaints most of the time.

First photo is July 2023, 2 months into lifting. I don’t have any photos of me at my absolute worst as I hated myself. Most recent is November 2024. I’m happier with myself but still have work to do. I don’t know what to do next, is it time to cut (even though I don’t think I have the self control lol)?
Also do you think cutting will make my waist less blocky? I have quite a bit of belly fat but you can kind of see that my hip bones just seem to let me down.

I was just looking through my old messages and wanted to share something that happened to me a few months ago. I am very into fate and believe that the people we meet are there to teach us something about ourselves, or we are there to teach them something about themselves.
Either ways, me and my boyfriend began officially dating September 1st. The day after September 2nd I got a message from a fling from earlier this year, and later that night I got another message from my ex. While my ex wasn’t necessarily looking to get back with me, he was messaging me after we ended things on an OK term so getting a message from him was very unexpected.
I like my current boyfriend a lot, and while I had a lot of fun before and enjoyed my single life… I feel ready to be with someone long-term. I figured it was just a coincidence, but now I know that it was just the universe asking me if I was ready for a relationship. And I am.
Sometimes people come back into your life, and it’s the universe asking you if you want to return to the past or keep onto the future. If you are sure of where you are or if you want to return to what you had. Even the things that seem like a coincidence aren’t, it’s the universe asking you if you are sure of yourself and your decisions.

Not sure if I’m looking for advice or motivation here lol. My now 3 month old daughter was born with a cleft palate so I have been exclusively pumping for her since day 1, she now has had surgery to have a tube placed in her belly for feeds due to her aspirating. The goal is to get her fully back to bottle feeding! I currently have mastitis and everyone is telling me to switch over to formula for mental health/doctors appointments getting in the way of pumping. I just simply can’t commit to one or the other!!! 😵💫
