I'm starting my art journey today, going from a complete noob who can barely hold a pencil to someone who can hopefully one day draw fully realized character art.
Anyways, I was doing some line work in my notebook when I realized I was relying way too much on the blue lines on the paper. I realized then and there I should probably invest in a sketchbook and basic art supplies. I'm going to be working night shift at a hotel for the next half a year, so I'm going to have plenty of time to practice and make progress, so I want to start on the right foot.
What's a good starter kit for beginner sketching and art? What supplies should I be getting? What's some good qualities for a sketchbook? Are basic number 2 pencils and a pencil sharpener fine?

So I'm very new to pc building and was looking for some motherboards when I saw this one on AliExpress (which I know almost nothing about) on an alleged "47% off" sale (~$100 to ~$50), and I figured it was probably a scam. But it has a 4.8 star rating with 200+ reviews and more than 1000 sales so now I'm not quite sure. Does anyone know, is it real, or is it a scam as I suspected in the first place?

Hi. Served tenants with form for none payment of rent. Went to do an inspection with lawyer there to take stock of damage and get a key which we are legally allowed to do. The tenant has now moved in four more people. Dealing drugs and destroying the place more as time goes on. Multiple broken windows, barricaded a new front door. Destroyed the hard wood floors. Place was newly updated prior to original tenant moving in. Now we are left to wait months before we even get a hearing. Meanwhile they pay no rent, no utilities and turned it into a drug house. wtf are we supposed to do just sit and watch it burn?! Eviction for cause should be top priority.

I’m an indie developer who loves building apps. When I wanted to make my apps available to more users around the world, I started translating them into multiple languages. I quickly realized how frustrating the process was. Maintaining the file structure, handling plurals, and making sure nothing broke along the way was tedious and error-prone.
To save myself time and avoid mistakes, I built a tool. It’s pretty simple: upload a localization file, have it translated while keeping everything structured correctly, and download it ready to use in my app. It worked well for me and made the whole process so much easier.

2024.11.26 04:20 Imaginary_Agent2564 Mom has an appointment to check for cancer on Thanksgiving and my anxiety is rising by the day.
Mom is relatively young (mid forties) and was recently told to go to her primary doctor asap to have her thyroid checked because it is swollen. She’s not in the best health, smokes too, and this has me outstandingly worried. She hasn’t felt “well” for months now. Always tired and her voice has gotten raspier within these past few months, although I chalked this up to the cigarettes. All I can think is that she’s gonna be diagnosed with cancer, rather than something like hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism. We have history of cancer in the family (almost everyone dies of it), but no thyroid disease, so clearly my anxiety is feeding off of a real threat, not just imagination. I’m just so scared.
My anxiety is off the rails. Constant nausea, pain in chest, panic attacks left and right, sobbing, and shakiness. We are in the middle of moving, therapist not able to get me in until 2 weeks from now, it’s about to be finals week (college has me at my limit already), Mom’s birthday is immediately after Thanksgiving, and now this. When it rains, it pours, right?
I’m really struggling, parents. Any advice or tips to get through this hell of a season? Feels like the bad version of waiting for Santa to come as a kid.

I'm the 65 year old woman with a very bad knee. Had a robot-assisted full hysterectomy and everything went great. Unfortunately, the position that they had me in for three hours (like a pap smear) left my already injured knee in excruciating pain. I'd be doing great if it weren't for my knee pain! There are still some gas issues, but that is all. For those still waiting for your surgery, stop worrying! You'll do great.
