Spontaneously taking my mom and partner to an AI for a week in mid December (they know I've got something planned, so have clear schedules, but otherwise this is a surprise).
My mom turned 70 in Oct - the reason for this trip. My partner and I are mid 30s but very active, outgoing types. Mom is bubbly/energetic/mobile so will come along for an excursion or 2 but is more excited about lazy drinks around a pool (maybe a spa day?). We'd love to snorkel, see some music. I was thinking Tulum for proximity to cenotes/other excursions, but am very open minded re: location.
I'm treating them both (and tbh am in grad school so this is a splurge no matter what) so am budget conscious. I keep seeing SellOffVacation deals for under 1500 all-in.... but I don't want to end up in a place that looks like a mediocre conference hall for a week. I'd stretch the budget for a great option!
Leaving Dec 12 for 5 or 7 days is my plan. Flying from Toronto, aiming for adults-only.
Prices seem LOW in that exact window, but I'd love this community's consumer expertise. Any budget gems? Tips? Destinations you adore?

My biggest issue with Arcane Final is that it never addresses the things that were built up in Season 1. Hextech and hexcrystals were massively important there. So was Shimmer. It sparked so many theories and questions, but none was addressed. This was supposed to be an opening for a massive universe, taking League of Legends lore to the screen for a larger audience, but it feels like trying to express the characters to such an advanced degree that they've forgotten to show off the world. Now, I'm not saying it should have traded character time for world-building; the answers we got to characters were amazing. But we needed both.
Especially now, Arcane is the canon universe, and so many questions are up in the air.
Is Piltover completely different now? The original canon made Hextech extremely common throughout the city, maintaining a vast divide between Piltover, the Hextech city, and Zaun, the Chemtech city. With Jayce and Viktor, the only two really competent enough to use it, gone, it's unlikely to happen. Will Vi and Caitlyn even get to keep their iconic weaponry? Caitlyn might be fine; the rifle didn't suffer much, but Vi lost an entire gauntlet and its hex crystal. Even then, we had a whole Arc basically saying, 'Hextech is dangerous' and 'It shouldn't be given to the public.' While true, it never addresses whether Hextech itself is the dangerous problem. Or is it only Hextech that becomes tainted with Shimmer? Because both anomalies happened after exposure to Viktor's shimmer blood.
What even is Shimmer??? Lore fans have been speculating for years that it has a void origin, and technically, nothing has changed; it's still very likely.
What are the Hex-crystals? Since Riot made Arcane canon and Skarner was reworked, the origin of the hex-crystals is entirely in the air now. Are they souls? Magic nonsense rocks? Have they just tossed the whole moral dilemma of Piltover being built on unknown exploitation and slavery to simplify it 'Too much power bad. Don't do it'.
Personally, I found Piltover and Zaun some of the most boring city-states. I ended up watching them for character growth. Still, if this is the world-building they do, after changing so much from the original canon (and then this being made part of the only canon), I worry about what will happen to Ionia, Shurima, Demacia, and the other locations we'll hopefully see one day.

I have a detached garage with a 48" wide door opening that was built back in 1979. The current door is a basic plywood door that looks like it was meant for interior use, and it desperately needs to be replaced. The problem is, I can’t find a 48" wide exterior door anywhere.
I'd prefer not to resize the opening since we just had the siding done, and the frame is wrapped in metal—tearing that off and re-wrapping it would be a hassle.
Does anyone know where I can buy a 48" wide exterior door? If not, would it be possible to build one? Any advice would be appreciated!

I was pretty good at VCE english this year, and want to start tutoring this year, but lowkey what do tutors do? Ive never had a tutor and just want to know what kind of things I should do and have prepared in advance
So if anyone is a tuto has a tutor for english or literature, what do you guys do? I have a few ideas but would like more, especially if I’m helping kids who aren’t in year 12.

I've recently joined a contamination ocd community and idk if it helps to listen to other patients and their situation.
