Okay so this is my first like official piece that I'm serious about and would like some input especially about grammar as I've always loved stories but have never had a knack for grammar, so I'm writing three short "horror" stories while I intend them to be horror esque mainly I want them more to be stories that reflect different ideas or morals I've had while writing them so I intend them to be creepy but to be more about a message rather than prioritizing the horror aspect but I would also appreciate tips on that as well, right now I only have one story done "A Rat's Confessionary" a tale about a rat living in a family's walls but I wanted to highlight humanity's primal tendencies or the narcissitic ideal of us being a higher species in this one. Let me know your thoughts!

2024.11.26 06:31 De_Noir Stuff that "grinds my gears" in this game
This is one of my fav Paradox games, I have easily 2k hours in this. This being said stuff that super annoys me:
- I can transfer counties without any issues but I cant do so with Dukedoms (even if the de jure kingdom of the dukedom doesn't exist). This can be fixed via the title manager mod, but I would still love to know what's the point.
- Most of the wars can be won too easily by simply assaulting. Even wars you have no business of winning you can simply prepare a bunch of mercs and you will be at 99% warscore within a month or two before any resistance can be mobilized. This can obviously be also used against you, you have a large Muslim realm and suffer a decadence or shia revolt? Well those guys will occupy everything before you can deploy your armies between Spain and India. Best thing is, that their armies don't suffer any attrition so they can over-stack all they want.
- The AI will create all the titles they can, even if its to their own detriment. AI gets elected as HRE, first decision? Create Empire of Germania which will guarantee a split of an otherwise unified realm + bordergore. This would also be super easy to prevent, just prevent the AI from creating multiple top level titles.
- I just hate how the HRE is implemented in this game, princely elective is the most stupid form of government ever. Way too complicated for its own good. Want to vote for your grandson, while your son is dead? Well you cant since you you-self are alive! Imperial elective in comparison is bearable / understandable.
- A lot of immersive mechanics can become just spammy annoyances, like the diseases and child rearing events.
- Converting to other religions is way too easy.
- I wished your traits had more effects on your gameplay (e.g. if you are kind then no executions, if you are charitable and someone asks for something you need to grant it, if you are zealous no religious conversions etc...)
- Defensive pacts - bro why did the pope join my crusade against the Muslims in north Africa ON THE SIDE OF THE MUSLIMS, while I never touched a Christian. Can be fixed via the no-interreligious defensive pacts.
- Blobbing is normally extremely easy but for whatever reason Orthodoxy (ERE) and Catholicism (HRE) cant touch each-other.

Yesterday I developed this theory that I wanted to share. I think the whole village was tricked into this.
What is the oldest scene we have about this story?
Original-Tabitha as child (Miranda-Tabitha were locked in Fromville in her 30s, so that one is OG-Tabitha, years before the ritual).

And what she told us about that memory/nightmare: that she was hiding and the people was screaming.
People, not only here, was screaming
So those colons, in that little town, lived on fear of something. They built totems, they built big red rocks, probably they built talismans (no proof but a guess). And rocks and totems were there before ritual. So, something bad was already happening at that place before the ritual.
And we have seen them painting most of the story on the caves.

So now my guess: They could have started because they were scared of the big red thing menacing them, then they tricked them into believeng that the ritual was for the good of the town while it was a deceive.
That is why Original-Tabitha and Original-Jade gave their baby-girl. If you think about it is not really different to what Sara was trying to do with Ethan, they thought it was for the greatest good. But then they realized it was the evil entity who needed the ritual just for doing evil things and get more power. Probably it was the same entity all time, shapeshifting, incarnating ghost of the loved ones. OG-Tabitha and OG-Jade tried to help the children with the help of other towners: OG-Boyd... But at that point most of the town didn't wanted to stop (the monsters, not only the parents but rest of town involved). Either it was the ritual went bad because of people trying to stop or those last were tricked again into living forever.

I think Spiru-Tein recently changed their formula, and still says only ‘vegetarian’ and ‘kosher’ on the package. Reading the entire ingredient list, there are no animal products or animal derived products. They now source their D3 from Cholecalciferol, and they removed bee pollen. I am confused why this product is still not vegan??? Anyone know more about this formulation? The website doesn’t offer any further explanation either. The only vegan certified product they seem to sell is Paleo protein which I have no interest in. Thanks for any feedback.

25m here and I recently cut ties with a friend 24f as the title states. We had been friends for over a month but it ultimately sucks losing someone you considered a close friend. This began one day when she couldn’t sleep and I joked how she sleep call with her boyfriend, she said no because he was busy and I responded with “excuses” as a joke. From that moment on, she saw our Friendship differently and said I was being judgmental. Last week I apologized and acknowledged my mistakes. Today I asked if I had done something and she responded saying she wants a more distant friendship and less judgment as she couldn’t get over the feeling she had. This felt like the ultimate slap in the face so I decided to just end things and move on. Part of me feels really guilty but at same time I couldn’t be bothered to deal with it at the same time. It’s not the first I fuck up a friendship so it kind of stings knowing I’m still a fuck up of friend. I’ve been trying so hard these last few years to improve myself and be a better friend but ultimately things always boil down to this. Not really seeking any advices but rather just wanted to vent as I am here in bed struggling to sleep with this anxiety in my head.
