Good lord, y'all, I'm (32F) currently convinced my roommate is a narcissist and just a generally horrible person to live with.
Basically, when my lease was up this last year, a girl (28F) I'd worked with a few years ago then started working with again at a different job and I decided to live together. I thought it'd be a good set up because we already knew each other and I wouldn't have to worry about not knowing anyone in the house. We found a third roommate (23F) on Facebook. Boy was I wrong.
It started at the beginning really. Her dog is "ESA certified" and is "reactive." Basically this dog is a nuisance, will bark at anyone new coming into the house because she's kenneled in a common area (because there's "no room" to keep the dog in the girls room and she "doesn't trust" the dog to be alone while not being in a kennel). The dog can't be around other dogs and the one time this girl left the dog with me over night tried attacking the neighbor dog through the fence and ended up cutting her paw. Roommate got home and had to take her to the vet and spend $900 on bills to get the cut looked at. The dog has to be put on special meds if its even mildly thundering out to keep it calm. Please don't get me wrong in all of this, I love animals and I was really looking forward to having a dog in the house. However, it's to the point where I don't feel safe with the dog or inviting people to the house because not even the dogs owner trusts it. I want to have my family down to my house for Christmas, my parents live 2.5 hours away and I'm not going to ask them to board their little westie on a holiday when my roommate refuses to take her dog with her to her "plans" because those plans involve other animals.
She's a low-key hoarder. she had a trailer full of crap that was moldy that she wanted to bring down to the house (we live in a fairly populated area) and leave for an indefinite part of time in my parking spot for her to go through. She says she grew up poor and thats why she can't throw things out.
She won't clean. The few things she did get from the moldy trailer sat on our porch for over a month without her doing anything about it. She says she's chronically ill and therefore can't do the one cleaning task we ask her to do, aka sweep the floors once a week.
She regularly vapes in her room which is against our landlords policy, and has been leaving her door open (she claims she closes it yet for how open it's been, there's no way it wasn't left open), causing the whole top floor to smell like pot.
Whenever I try to talk with her about any of this, she gives me a multitude of excuses and reasons why she can't do things. She "does close her door," she's "trained" her dog, she has "too many chronic illnesses to clean the house" (yet somehow manages to work 40 hours a week in a kitchen....) the list is endless.
I'm so frustrated and angry. Her most recent "melt down" has been about the house not feeling like its hers because of something our third roommate said about the upstairs smelling like pot, asking her to smoke outside. ever since then she's been ignoring me, refusing to interact in a respectful manner, and generally being a bitch. I texted her about Christmas to see what her plans were and no where in the conversation is she able or willing to find solutions and compromises about where to keep her liability of an animal while she's gone so I can have family over. Whenever we've asked her to do things, she "can't figure it out" and expects us to do it for her. It's like I'm her parent and she needs me to stroke her ego so she feels ok about everything.
I'm 30 seconds from reporting her to our landlord for smoking in the house and saying that her dog is a liability in the hopes of getting evicted. The primary reason I don't is I don't want to go through the hassle of finding a third roommate over the winter (in New England).

I need help! I wasn’t too worried about the end of pocket camp as I had already linked my game to my Nintendo account, but I don’t play much anymore. So I didn’t realize that it was my previous phone that was linked and not my current. My game transferred phones but apparently not the linking. I play Dynasty Warriors games (except 7) religiously since 2003: i have the controls burned into my brain, and yet for some reason i can't for the life of me dodge with R2 (even though it was bound on the same button in DW9 and i remember using it to battle the legendary beasts). For the first time in my DW player career, i won't be using O for the Musou atk, because i absolutely need it for dodging. Also the arts on R1 are a bit uncomfortable, you're already pressing buttons near there with another finger, so there's pressure applied: i ended up switching them on L2. With this setup i can play with infinitely better responsiveness. Only issue is that for some reason the horse won't jump anymore.

I am a female and this happened when I was 19 years old. I never had a problem with this again but I never really got an answer and I truly don’t think it was a Bartholin cyst. I had this cyst that literally was coming from inside of my vagina. From looking at pictures, it looked more alike to a paraurethral cyst than a Bartholin cyst because it wasn’t on my labia, I could literally push it inside of my vagina and it would slowly come back out (I could have sex but sometimes it would feel like the cyst was being pushed in so it was mildly uncomfortable, and by the time I went to the OBGYN in person it had already ruptured). My OBGYN tested me for STDs and I was negative for everything. Also whenever I was on my way to urgent care it ruptured (I thought I had peed myself and felt relieved, but it was just blood and puss, it didn’t smell horrible but it definitely smell bad) so I never got to find out what it was. I did have a telehealth appointment through Whatsapp and sent her pictures (I just couldn’t access healthcare at the moment and is my OBGYN in another country!) and she said that it was a Bartholin cyst and to take antibiotics (which is what I did and what my actual OBGYN told me to keep doing) but is that possible if it’s literally coming out of the inside and not on the labia / sides? What could have that been? I also kept getting UTIs at the time and never really got them treated because I would feel like they went away on their own and then they would come back like weeks / a month later so I don’t know :(

2024.11.26 06:34 yrovi_eyks AITA for trying to get my roommate to do and stop certain things? What should I do?
For context, we've all been living together for almost 2 years. Me (f29) partner (m28) and roommate (m31).
The first year was going good between the three of us until our 4th roommate moved out. That's when it seemed things started to go down hill with our current roommate.
He literally stopped doing anything to help around the house. Basic chores or cleaning up after himself, not helping with yard work, letting garbage and recycling pile up or crumble and leave it after being the last one to put anything in it.
I feel like for the last year I've been breathing down his neck to do stuff or help out. And when he does, he half asses the job.
When he was working I could totally understand it, wanting to come home and just relax. With me being the least financial contribution to the house I took on most of the house stuff.
But there have now been two points this year that he has stopped working, and in those times he's become a slob. Doing nothing but gaming, leaving a mess everywhere and then getting upset when the animals ruin his stuff.
We've asked multiple times for him to do more, and each time it's the same response. Half assert and then nothing.
I guess the straw that broke the camels back for me is that I've been waiting to do laundry almost all day and have now lost my chance at it because he insists on running the dryer on air dry for one load of laundry all day.
We've come into the colder months and the power bill is gonna sky rocket as is what with our poorly insulated house constantly running the furnace. And he's currently not working.
AITA? What should I do?
