Hi all!
I moved recently, and had to sell my 2015 Mazda 3 Touring Sedan (high spec 2L NA petrol engine). Loved the car, but the speakers were underwhelming and I found myself in situations wishing for a hatch for more space to carry stuff.
I realised that the 3 was everything I wanted/needed in a car + despite being abused by the previous owner, my old 3 had nearly 170,000 kms on it and didn't miss a beat. Servicing was cheap too.
I won't be driving a lot in my new job, but figured I'd still want to drive something fun - decided to go for a model with the 2.5l engine.
Interestingly, there are 4 models within my price range and are within each other's price range. All 3 have well documented service histories with Mazda:

  1. 2020 Gen 4 G25 Evolve (Aus badge for the base spec 2.5L engine variant. no 360 degree camera/heated + leather seats.). 105,000kms on the odometer.
Pros: lowest k's, would probably hold resale value the most, rear air vents for rare instances where I'm ferrying my elderly parents, best looking, still has warranty so I might get away with not hiring a mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection.
Cons: not a fan of the blind spot and smaller cargo capacity, no heated/leather seats.
  1. 2017 Gen 3 SP25 GT (second highest variant of the 2.5L, has leather + heated seats, HUD, Blind spot monitor) 115,000 kms on the odometer.
Pros: technically the lowest spec among all of them but it'll be a big upgrade for me regardless, low-ish K's, has heated + leather seats which I'll probably appreciate C
ons: 10% more for something newer and fancier though...
  1. 2018 Gen 3 SP25 Astina (highest spec, has sunroof and radar cruise control). 145,000 kms on odometer.
Pros: Sunroof (might end up being a gimmick, I've never owned a car with a sunroof before but always thought it was cool), Radar cruise control. Newer than (4)
Cons: I still feel hesitant buying anything near the 150k km mark...
  1. 2016 Gen 3 SP25 Astina (post facelift BN series). 122,000kms on the odo.
Pros: This particlar ad has been up for nearly 3 months, so I'm probably able to get the lowest price out of the 4.
Cons: It's black in colour, Australian summers can get pretty intense and I'm not sure if my future accomodation will always have a covered parking bay available.
2,3,4 all have nearly the same advertised price (option 3 is 3% more expensive than the cheapest of the lot, option 4)
Option 1 is ~10% more expensive than the rest, but still has a few months of factory warranty, is the lowest KMs, has CarPlay already installed whereas it would cost like 2% of the sale price of 2,3 and 4 to get Carplay installed.
Obviously this is all really subjective. But keen to get some thoughts of previous owners as to the value propositions involved, especially since they're all so closely priced!

I am keen to play on a fresh Hardcore server, I was previously on Skull rock and my latency would sit around 180ms. On doomhowl however it sits around 250ms. Its sort of freaking me out a bit I am worried I am going to lag and die any moment.
Any other Aussies on Doomhowl?

Given that long Covid makes us depressed in terms of the immune system, can viruses like the flu, any virus or even bacteria develop a long form because of long Covid? I ask myself this question because members of this community developed cfs well before Covid. If so, it is much worse than HIV.

2024.11.26 08:56 opmwolf I give up trying to socialize, I'm such a freak and social outcast.

Beforehand, I'm sorry for this rant/vent. I wanted to use VRC as a means to improve my social skills because I have essentially self isolated myself for almost 7 years. I had a single "friend" I've known for some time that also has a VRC setup (I got a Quest because of them), they know about my problems yet all it took was one play session to change their perception of me. I was mute most of the time while having a panic attack(?), if I did talk it was beyond insanely awkward. Now anytime I invite them they always give an excuse of how they can't play. They always say, "we'll play together sometime" but it never happens.
I'm letting out a lot of details but they were the only person I trusted and that feeling is gone. I know there are thousands of accepting people on VRC or any platform but if someone I supposedly trusted reacted that way then how would a stranger? The paranoia and delusions prevent me from joining public instances.
I'm in so much despair, I legitimately have no one who hasn't ridiculed me in some form or another. I envy people so damn much who can socialize without effort and those who were able to overcome a similar mental block. I am weak since I am not able to overcome this. I am at a loss and want to give up.
I'll very likely erase this post when I wake up, it's almost 1am at the time of typing this vent out. I apologize for the wall of text. Thank you to those who read this. Sorry if you don't get a reply from me, although texting is a cakewalk compared to voice chat. If that makes any sort of sense..

As the title says how often did your partner help you with your toddler at the end of your pregnancy?
I’m 37 weeks pregnant and baby is fully engaged. I feel she will come early.
Today I got the toddler up, fed her breakfast, washed and changed, clothes on, hair brushed, bag packed and dropped her to daycare.
Fed the animals, cleaned the kitchen (three times as partner cooked for himself and made coffee for himself and won’t even put his dishes in the dishwasher even when asked and leaves food and fat everywhere), I went to a midwife appointment, picked up the dog poo, cleaned the Astro turf, washed, dried and folded several loads of washing including his, took out and cleaned the baby seat for baby no 2, booked in for the fitting tomorrow.
I will be expected to cook dinner, clean up after shower and put toddler to bed. He just puts on her pyjamas and wants a pat on the back.
All I ask from him is if he could pick up toddler from daycare and I am apparently being unreasonable and selfish for asking as he has worked all day (works from home) and wants to sit on his phone.
This is a reoccurring theme. He blames his ADD but he’s one of the laziest people I have been with.
He’s more involved with care on the weekends but not with housework.
Does it get better with baby no2 or worse. If worse- to the ladies who left to be a single mum was it easier shedding the adult child to cater for or harder?

I may be interpreting the scene wrong but Viktor seemed to claim every timeline failed except the one where Jayce got the acceleration rune. But we clearly saw in Ekko’s AU that Piltover and Zaun were striving. Hextech didn’t exist and Jayce was either dead or locked away. This universe was striving even more than the main universe.
Did Viktor mean he failed in the other timelines because he wasn’t able to save both Hextech and Jayce?
