I’m a good bit into the game, in the “Happiness for Everyone” quest and I’m supposed to head into Duga, but as I make my way towards the objective i’m getting insta killed about half way… it sounds like i’m getting shot or something but there’s no warning, just death… anybody else have the same problem or?

I think I'm tired and will need to re-listen to it. But the end of Chapter 2 and Mid Chapter 3 confused me and I can't piece the timeline together on such a short story.
One minute they're dropping in, Piotr is screaming and saying "keep them distracted" (so this is in the past?) Simian, Hamza and Jones are dead. Clearly the group come up against a Carryx. Piotr goes orange, "initialising" and then speaks in text (I assume this is when he 'died'?)
"They're dead!" Noor shouts. They continue the mission but it cuts to Corval et al leave and Kirin ends up in the new group with Santos. Kirin has done nearly 30 drops by this point
Then it cuts back to "they're dead!" From Noor and it's back on the mission and tells that story. It then cuts to 3 days later, Kirin is searching for the team that have left. But Kirin is already missing his foot that happens at the start of Chapter 1, when Piotr already hadn't been talking for "months" - but we just heard the story of when he stopped talking in Chapter 2. And Kirin discovers about Piotr being dead here too.
In chapter 1 Corval is still in charge and Piotr hadn't spoken in months. But by chapter 3, Piotr just stops talking and Corval has already left 3 days later. What have I misunderstood here?
Either I've completely missed the point of this story, or I'm dumb and shouldn't have listened on an early morning flight but I need somebody to piece it together for me.
I enjoyed it, I'm interested to learn more, I assume this is centuries before TMoG. It was certainly a Carryx that they came up against. Are the snake-like things supposed to be Rak-Hund? It was good. But I didn't follow the timeline at all

So I have a group of friends that I was friends with in my late teenage years to early 20s. We did everything together and went on four overseas trips together. They were a few years older than me, so when I graduated uni and started my first full time job, pulled away because I was going through some things emotionally and didn't realise I had anxiety and depression. They remained a group without me. Anyway, 5 or so years pass and I decided to reach out to them because I missed the friendship. They were receptive to meeting up and we met up a couple of times - I initiated during these times though. We were supposed to catch up a while ago but they needed to reschedule. This catch up was never rescheduled. Should I assume they don't want a friendship anymore? I don't want to be the one always reaching out. I mean they did comment happy birthday and congratulated me on my engagement but other than that nothing. What should I do? I feel like I want the friendship more than they do. I know they would have caught up since I last saw them, but they never thought to invite me. We are now 27F, 27F, 29F, 30F

Edit- Reached out and messaged asking if they were free to catch up soon. Haven't heard back yet. It's been 3 days and they haven't opened the Facebook message.
Edit 2 - one girl responded and basically said that she’s busy with wedding planning and Christmas so won’t be free until next year Feb.
