Hi all, I'm looking for small lightweight motors (max 30g) with oversized bearing shafts for improved impact resistance compared to the 2mm shafts that are so typical at this scale. Something between like 1404 and 2304 in size ideally really.
My use-case is non typical (weapons for small combat robots - mini BattleBots/robot wars) and bent shafts is the biggest failure point.
I've seen the stan fpv 2604s have large hollow Ti shafts which would be ideal - but they're pushing it on size and weight for my application really so was wondering if there was anything similar on smaller form factor motors out there? - but so far my search hasn't yieled great results.

Hi all, I’m looking to build some manual switching pedals to easily switch between amplifiers and cabs on my amp wall while still using my pedal setup. I split my signal and run two amps and two cabs, but I never run two amps into the same cab simultaneously. I also make sure that only one amp and cab are powered on in each signal path at any given time.
My goal is to avoid constantly unplugging and replugging everything. I don’t need the switching to be foot-switchable, just manual and reliable.
My questions are:
• Are there any specific considerations when dealing with powered signals? We have a new scammer in the Indian tech influencer scene who is charging gullible and anxious students money for subpar, mediocre, and shittily taught content. He is a software engineer who works at Google and has Instagram and LinkedIn clout by creating typical “Day in the life of a SWE” and motivational content for new grads and students.
He has been marketing his testimonials, past placements, and the value of 17 courses at 999 aggressively on Instagram and YouTube. I fell for it and made the mistake of buying his 30 Days Coding course, and here’s what I found:
- 90% of the videos are not even taught by him: He has outsourced the teaching of core full stack and web development content to someone named Zayn who has never worked professionally in his entire career. Crucially so, his name is not mentioned anywhere.
- Every Video is on YouTube: If you google Drop X Out (Zayn’s company), you’ll find that everything is available on his channel. For Free. And given the absolutely terrible teaching quality, most videos have less than 200 views. If you are interested in getting frustrated, try watching them. You’ll get a headache timeafter listening to him say Thik hai for the millionth .
- Barely 2-3 course: There is only one course where all his videos are, everything else is a section from it. The other Blockchain or AI tools projects are essentially Aryan reading a PDF document and explaining it. Not building anything.
- No community: On the website he mentioned how he has TAs and other students for support and accountability. There is no link to a group or a discord sever anywhere.
- Fake Testimonials: Look at the three testimonials written on the website, it seems people have been placed at great companies. Once you click on their LinkedIn profiles, you’ll find most of them belong to UMass, Amherst. Huh, that’s a coincidence.. Well, where did Aryan Singh go for his undergrad? UMass, Amherst.
I know it is not a huge amount but making this post would ensure no one else here falls for his BS.
Tl;dr- Aryan Singh is preying on your anxiety about the job market and launched an awful course created by an unqualified developer. Udemy, YouTube, and documentation are FAR better.

My father was a letter carrier and passed away in 2004 while still employed by usps. He was also in the airforce for a few years and was a civil service worker prior to being a postal carrier. My mother receives her annunity/window's benefit and our insurance is deducted from her check. I was deemed medically frail in 2010/2011 so I get to stay on the insurance.
Fehb/bcbs insurance has been great for us. We got a letter stating that we would be forced onto this new postal carrier only insurance but it's about $200 more a month for the two of us with higher deductible and less coverage.
Would it be worth my time to contact either bcbs, opm, or some other department to see if tgere are other options available to us, due to our unique situation? Which department would I contact? If anyone has any suggestions as to who we would contact, i would really appreciate it. My mom is 72, has early onset dementia and I have had several head injuries, and my brain misfires or doesn't understand super complicated instructions .... If you could be blunt and simple I would greatly appreciate it!

So Ill start by saying, pixels can be weird. By default, the way of navigating the phone is strictly gestures (the white bar at the bottom). Months ago I changed it to the old fashioned, tried and true three button navigation and found myself enjoying it more. Well I watch a lot of Hulu on my phone lately and have been enjoying having the mini player while I scroll through reddit. Tap the home button, it pops up.
Well today I changed back to the gesture based navigation and I noticed something. When I swipe up to go to the home screen, it doesnt pull up the mini player on Hulu. I tried everything and it just would NOT work. I asked myself, "what changed?" And luckily changing the screen navigation was the only thing for a fact. I changed back to three button and whaddayaknow, it suddenly started working again!
Don't ask me why that worked, but it did. Info on my particular setup, pixel 8a on the latest version of android 14 (ive been putting off updating. Partially to fear of bugs and partially due to laziness...).
TLDR: If you have gesture based screen navigation and the Hulu miniplayer wont pop up, try out three button navigation instead

I was looking at getting a new T14, discussed in my other post. However I stopped by a local small repair shop, they had a T14 gen 3. It has the i5 1245u, uhd igpu, 16gb soldered, and a 256gb ssd. I paid 200usd for it. Main use will be web browsing and typing, occasionally I may play a game on it, might do some 3d modeling (nothing big just now learning). I already am looking at getting some more ram so it's in dual channel. Is there any upgrades I could do with the cover off? I know it has the smaller battery, could I put the larger one in if/when I need to?
