Reports of the demise of globalization due to COVID-19 have proved premature, says global connectedness report. World trade of goods has surged to pre-pandemic levels despite supply chain problems. But many countries are facing high inflation rates and developing nations are struggling to recover, with limited access to vaccines. The World Economic Forum publishes a comprehensive series of reports which examine in detail the broad range of global issues it seeks to address with stakeholders as part of its mission of improving the state of the world. Besides reports on its key events and standalone publications such as the Global Competitiveness Report, the Global Risks Report and the Global Gender Gap Report, the Forum ... Environmental risks continue to dominate the risks landscape over all three time frames. Two-thirds of GRPS respondents rank Extreme weather as the top risk most likely to present a material crisis on a global scale in 2024 (Figure B), with the warming phase of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycle projected to intensify and persist until May this year. The Global Risks Report, developed in collaboration with Marsh McLennan and Zurich Insurance Group, explores some of the most severe risks we may face over the next decade, against a backdrop of rapid technological change, economic uncertainty, a warming planet and conflict. The Global Gender Gap Index 2024 benchmarks the current state and evolution of gender parity across four key dimensions (Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment). Getting told one day that they don't want the friendship to ever end. Then the next getting told that the friendship won't last, and that it wasn't that deep to begin with. And then blaming you for saying something because the switch hurt your feelings. All the future faking, meaningless.
And they don't feel like they owe you an explanation at all. The pain you feel isn't real, you are just trying to manipulate them, because you are a psychopath.
This shit sent me down such a bad mental health spiral. NC for a week now after breaking it once, 2 weeks before that.
We knew each other for about a year and it was up and downs the entire time. Got pretty hooked to the highs. The last month we were in contact we we constantly in touch.
The entire thing is such a mindfuck.
I wish I would have known before about BPD, maybe I would have been able to act differently. I give myself so much of the blame although deep down I know it really isn't my fault. Other people don't understand her behavior either. I just feel extremely confused and want all of these thoughts to end

We’re renting and on a 12 month lease that is up at end of November. Have recently purchased a property and settle in December. Gave landlords plenty of notice (8 weeks before we settle) and asked if we could end the lease early. They said they’d try to find new tenants but given the time of year, it’s not going to be easy. They haven’t been proactive listing the property.
We’ve had concerns that the property isn’t up to healthy home standards as the landlords did the assessment themselves. Some fairly major things missing including no ground sheet under the house. If we get an assessment and it fails, can we use this as a tool to negotiate ending the tenancy early?

i am a college student going home (one US state to another) for 3 weeks for christmas break—I have had my 3 yr old cat for about 4 months now and we’re starting to bond really well. i am going home for 3 weeks, in which i HAVE to travel by plane. i am absolutely terrified of taking her on the plane with me, i really don’t want to traumatize her. i have severe anxiety and i think it would traumatize me too, travel is already stressful for me.
she is very comfortable with people but HATES being handled/being in a carrier so far. i have tried to harness and carrier train her (loosely) but she’s stubborn. is my best option to leave her with a sitter? or should I focus on training her?
keep in mind i have no close friends or family staying here that can watch her. i would need to rely on a stranger (which is also scary), it is also much more expensive to hire someone even for once daily visits for 3 weeks. what should i do??? i’m very stressed.

I am currently on another re-read of the acotar series and in the middle of acowar rn..my god I already know why it's one of my least favorite books of the series. I do enjoy some aspects of it (e.g. feyre's revenge on ianthe, lucien and feyre escaping, rescuing elain from the war camp, the HL meeting..) there are even more things I didn't enjoy at all and actually annoy me and most of them have to do with feyre's pov:
- her vilifying tamlin and plotting this crazy revenge plan to take down his court instead of literally just...talking to him or reading his mind? yes he treated her like shit in acomaf and did bad things, we get it. but the fact that she literally misrembers whole situations and blames him for things that he had nothing to do with makes me so mad. and her pov is just treated as truth and not questioned by anyone.
- feyre telling herself over and over again how rhys treats her as equal and gives her so much choice and freedom. she already started doing that in acomaf when she knew the IC for like a month and talked about them like she knew them for years and all the things they would do for her..knowing how they all kept essential information about her bodily autonomy from her in acosf makes this very sad actually and I actually feel bad for her.
- amren not dying. she should have died. I enjoyed her character but she became useless and I would have appreciated a meaningful death. but sjm is a happy end writer soo...
- the war lasting..how long? the battle maybe went on for a few hours or did I miss something? the war was supposed to be THE EVENT in the whole series and was over before it even started.
- feyre and rhys doing "it" in the tent with the sounds of people dying around them. didn't she get mad at tamlin for only wanting to bang her UTM when they had one last night together? hmm seems like intimacy and love are suddenly not to crazy things to share anymore before dying the next day.
- rhys sacrificing himself and then being resurrected. ok ngl "be happy feyre" makes me tear up every time I read it but my god. so much unnecessary drama. he literally has horrible nightmares about feyre dying and she still lives and he thought it's a great idea to just do the same to her? not that out of character but still unnecessary.
