As an immigrant in Ireland, I’ve noticed a real shift in how immigrant communities are voting, and I’ve had plenty of conversations with others who feel the same way. It’s true that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are getting a decent amount of support from immigrants, and this was pretty obvious in the local elections. A good number of immigrant background candidates were elected, but it’s not just about that—it’s about the perception that these parties have been more consistent and less hostile when it comes to immigration.
From my own experience, I remember Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil candidates showing up at community events, like at African churches, when I was younger. It wasn’t always about delivering on promises, but they made an effort to engage. That kind of outreach stuck with a lot of people. They didn’t go down the road of scapegoating immigrants like we’ve seen elsewhere. Compared to Sinn Féin or Labour, who seem to shift their stance depending on the room they’re in, or independents who can be outright hostile, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil come across as safer options, even if that’s not saying much.
That said, it’s not all rosy. Plenty of people feel disillusioned with FFG because they’ve failed on big issues like housing and healthcare, which hit immigrant communities just as hard as anyone else. There’s also a sense that their promises don’t always match their actions. For example, while they champion immigration in rhetoric, their approach to issues like direct provision or integration can leave a lot to be desired. Some of us feel like we’re just numbers to them—good for the economy but not much else.
I’ve also seen growing support for People Before Profit among immigrants. They’re radical at times, but they stick to their principles and openly support inclusion and immigrant rights without hedging or backtracking. In contrast, most of the other mainstream parties seem afraid to take a clear stand. They’re always trying not to upset anyone, which leaves immigrants feeling like an afterthought.
The truth is, immigrants are politically diverse. Many of us are frustrated and politically homeless, but Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil get support because they’ve built up goodwill in some communities and haven’t embraced anti-immigrant rhetoric. At the same time, people are starting to look at alternatives like People Before Profit because at least they’re willing to speak up for us.

I want to upgrade from my 2020 Samsung Q95T 65“ and am considering above mentioned options.
I recently had the Samsung S95B 65“ and was very satisfied with the image quality compared to the qled Samsung that I still have. I didn’t like how the menu and all the controls got laggy plus I’ve heard good things about LG from family memebers…Dolby vision and Atmos and so on.
I also have a Samsung N650 Soundbar + Woofer which is a couple years old and works but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t support Dolby Atmos.
The 83B4 I’ve heard has some of the C4 perks that the smaller B4‘s don’t get, I’d be able to get that model for 2249
Lg also offers the 77C4 with the Lg DS80TR for 2399
As the bigger B4 gets some perks of the C4 im leaning towards the B4, 83 should be better than 77 but both would be a substantial upgrade to the 65 I have now, and I’m not sure whether it’s worth paying more just to have a smaller screen (which probably is more noticeable than the slight image quality difference when only having one of the two). The better sound system with Dolby Atmos only really shines when watching Dolby Atmos compatible content which there’s is not too much of.

Hello!
So i git interested in rf around a year ago when i was designing an antenna for the first time, which was super cool and that's how i got interested in the field. However, idk what should i focus on. Some kind people have sent me books in various topics starting from antenna analysis to communication system design. However, as i began reading them, i was not sure that i was learning anything as every formula felt a little detached from anything realand i didn't immediately see the practical usage for them, so i was kinda abandoning one book after another.
Should i then focus on some sort of projects not lose motivation? If yes, what kind of? I had try to build a simple superheterodyne receiver and it was semi-successful
