Hi everyone! I’m looking for participants to take part in a short survey for my MA dissertation research (link below). I posted about this project in the summer but I didn’t get enough participants so I’m recruiting again:)
I’m aiming to validate a new scale measuring attitudes towards women in a university population. I’m also investigating links between attitudes towards women and engagement with online communities. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. No personal information is required. Responses are completely anonymous. You will have the option to enter a raffle to win one of 15 £20 Amazon vouchers as a thank you for taking part (this will be done via a separate survey so no contact information is connected to your responses). This survey also contains credits to get free survey responses at Survey Circle.
Anyone who is aged 18 or older and currently a student at a UK University is welcome to take part. This includes anyone completing an undergrad or postgrad (taught or research). Further information regarding consent and withdrawal is included in the first page of the survey. I’d really appreciate any time you may have to take part. Thank you!

2024.11.26 10:29 crunchiponies Starting Remsima today
Hi guys. I’m shaking in my boots. I went a few months without Humira and now I have too many antibodies for it to be effective and my doctor switched me to Remsima injections. I know that usually starts off with infusions but he is opting for injections because I’m abroad and I travel a lot so he did it for my convenience. He hasn’t had me tested for TB, I’m scared I’ll have an allergic reaction because I already had a bad one once when I was given Ciprofloxacin, I’m scared that this medication is going to knock me on my ass and that I’ll be sick. I don’t live with my parents anymore and I live with two friends but I don’t know if they’ll take good care of me like my family does. My doctor also told me that some patients report pain upon injection and I’m terrified of it. The one thing that’s keeping me going is that the medication will hopefully improve my symptoms, I’ll finally get rid of my anemia, and maybe I’ll go into remission. Has anyone else ever done Remsima injections? What is it like? I can only find vlogs on Remicade infusions, I just want to talk to someone who’s already done this.

So I have been obsessed with improving my health from this August, I mean I have been diagnosed from 16 so it feels like I have always been trying to work on it but I’m like on my last nerve with it because it is interfering with my work, my motivation, my ambitions, so it has been just trying to keep telling myself there’s no other option this or nothing. And so I started taking meds on time, started drinking water ( I am not consistent with it sometimes I’m able to 2.5l sometimes just one cup but mostly 1.5l on good days ), I have been drinking mix of teas and infusions to boost that drinking, I drink vegetable juices everyday with moringa powder, and been doing okay with sleep too. So I’m still building myself up, trying so very hard to eat good, choose better. But my environment does not help so it can be very disappointing and lonely, and I noticed a new trend of emotional eating this past month which I need to address with myself.
Anyways, so I took tastes between August, October, and Today. And my lipid profile and insulin levels have improved so much since August I couldn’t believe it! My triglycerides fell from 213 to 115, my insulin went from 50 to 23, among other things. And I realised it was Metformin 1mg twice a day. I haven’t lose much weight I’m struggling with it, I am also behind in periods two months now, but some areas seems to have improved!
This is motivating. I wish I could also see some weight loss, my gynec said we could consult endocrinologist in two months for ozempic if we don’t see any improvements in weight but honestly it kind of scares me I want to do my best to try and lose it my way first only because I haven’t given my 100%, I don’t walk or exercise and I know I should but I just don’t have to motivation but I believe now I need to in any way.
