2024.11.26 10:28 mrkonnichiwa G4 HDMI4 not Running 4k@120 Hz with PC
I'm having an hdmi issue on a new G4, and I hope someone can enlighten me on possible troubleshooting or disposition.
HDMI4 doesn't want to cooperate with my lenovo laptop (rtx 4080). When I try setting the output to 4k@120, the screen usually goes black/flickers and the tv settings keep changing in both game optimizer and other picture/sound menus. I don't have this issue with hdmi 1 or 3 (hdmi 2 has a soundbar). I have a 10 ft, 5ft, and 3 ft cable. HDMI4 will sorta look like it's behaving with the 3ft cable, but will not run at 144 Hz. HDMI 1 & 3 work with any of these cables. PS5pro runs 4k@120 with no issues on HDMI4.
Not sure if disagreeable ports are typical or this is return worthy.

2) Using Fortigate, I was thinking of using a web filter to have an URL without authentication (public) and the URL for administration with MFA. I was thinking of a Policy to allow SERVER1 -with web filter allow to server1/public/. But this doesn't work because it also allows traffic to server1/admin. How can I fix that?
3) For administrator access to the web service, I add another policy with user authentication (MFA) to server1. But I am having problems with the certificate name and IP when it redirects to the Fortigate authentication page causing errors in the browser. How can I solve it?
Is this the correct way to do it?

Hi all, I have a legion pro i7 gen 9 (14th gen Intel + 4090) and I notice that my battery is really short while basically just watching youtube videos. I am barely getting 2 hours and this on the quiet thermal mode and the Hybrid-auto mode for the gpu. Also, I followed the standard guide to overclock (actually undervolt) the CPU using Legion vantage and also made sure to disable hardware acceleration on the browser. Is this the expected time for something so basic?

At some point in the night this guy started dancing with me and I thought it would be a good idea to dance with him too. I started grinding on him and feeling super sexy. My hands were up in the air and I could feel his hands all over my body.
At some point I turned around and we started making out. Hard. It was very hot.
Then his friends came over and asked him if he wanted to go to another club or stay. He said stay. This made me feel so good because he was enjoying himself as much as I was.
The club was packed so much with other people this whole time and there was so much foam that they were spraying all over us. It was in our hair and all over our faces. It was hard to see or hear anything.
Then he asked me my name. I suddenly lost all my confidence and turned chicken. I said something in his ear, as he was holding me close. Then left.
I wish I had stayed, told him my name, learnt his and seen where the night had gone. He gave me the impression that he was really nice, would have been great to talk to and yes at the end of it, really good in bed but I just left.
Foam guy, if you ever see this, I'm so sorry. I think of this night every now and then and it would have been cool to know who you were.

Lots of telescopes have 102mm aperture or 203mm etc. because it's roughly 4" or 8" etc... At the same time I never saw a focal length that is a multiple of an inch. It's always 500mm/600mm/700mm/800mm etc.. Why? Because of this the f-ratio pretty much always have lots of decimals.

So long story short I’m going to take over and inherit the family farm that has been in my family for 6 generations now
Looking to the UK where they have recently put in place some very draconian laws to force small farmers to pay inheritance tax on transfer from patent to child I’m absolutely sure our own shower here will do the same when the next recession hits and I want to be ahead of them.
So for me the situation is grand. We just about come under the current tax free allowance but given how the world is moving I’m 100% sure it won’t be as easy for me
The daft thing is only 5% of British farms are owned by small famers, the rest are corporate owned or part of royal trust etc so I want to setup something similar myself as it’s very clear they want to end small famers and have them sell off the land to blackrock (who won’t have to pay any inheritance tax)
I’m thinking to setup my own small trust that essentially dictates that “the farm is its own entity and profits stay in the trust to pay dividends to the custodian of the trust and that custodian of the trust shall be whoever is the closest male descendent by dna of the current trustee by the same family name”
Failing that I guess the best idea is to setup a LLC and put all assets into that and handle succession by selling the assets of the company
But assuming this topic has come up before what’s the best way today to keep the government hands of family farms long term (My goal is to make sure that nobody ever can take over who is not a direct descendent of myself and my father as we don’t trust the future)
