2024.11.26 11:20 village-asshole Behaviour of Indian tourists in Thailand?
I’m not up on the nuances of Indian culture and have never been there either. I’ve noticed (in my own experience here in Thailand) that it seems like they treat everyone around them as if invisible.
Example 1
I’m waiting behind a guy at a currency exchange booth when these two Indian guys appear and, when the guy in front of me finished, they walked up to the attendant as if I’m not even there. I called them out and shut them down, but it was rude to even take that initiative knowing I was already there.
Example 2
On a different occasion, I see a group walking down a narrow footpath and, instead of moving single file to let others pass, they kept pushing forward as a scrum forcing others onto the street. I just stood there shaking my head because it seemed obvious to let others pass.
I understand cultures are different in different places and I’m happy to be enlightened. I don’t wish to make this post a pile-on. I’m just looking for understanding.

2024.11.26 11:20 G1ngerBeerD Scotland - Neighbour building extension
Hi folks
Looking for some advice. My next door neighbour (detached property) has advised us that they are planning on building an extension on the side of their house, no issues there.
However, their architect has advised them that the scaffolding will require to be placed on our side of the fence, and on top of our grass. This will obviously damage the grass. The neighbours have advised they will cover any costs for re-turfing the grass.
The issue is that the architect has advised the neighbour that they don't need our permission to have the scaffolding within our garden. Is that correct? They've told the neighbour that they can place the scaffolding there without our consent, which I found a bit unusual, given that it's going to be on our property.
Also wondering about any follow up legal ramifications in the event of damages etc.
I have young kids and a dog who use the garden, surely there has to be some sort of approval from us to allow a massive scaffolding kit to be placed within OUR boundary?
Any advice is appreciated.

Hello everyone I developed a problem during last year where my main leg's ankle significally hurts after throwing many low kicks, especially during sparring when sometimes I'm not able to use my chin and I hit my partner's leg with my ankle instead. I already bought an anklet and was considering upgrading my shin guards to a more protective ones, I currently wear a pair of Venum challenger and I was wondering if can someone here advice me something more protective and maybe how to evaluate when looking for new shin guards.
