Just a quick question, I recently redownloaded this game hoping to be able to get the platinum trophy on PlayStation. Does anyone know if there’s any unobtainable trophies or anything that’ll prevent me from being able to get it?

2024.11.26 11:25 glossyplane245 Fix for anyone else who gets the “dest string less than needed” error trying to play stalker: clear sky (and possibly other stalkers like CoP and anomaly, it’s the bug where it crashes on launch and doesn’t open at all) and is currently googling it
This may also work for other stalker games if they also have 2 user ltx files with one in an app data folder but I haven’t tested it and don’t know. If you try it for anomaly, call of Pripyat, or shadow of chernobyl and it works please share. I’ve only had this issue with clear sky and I’ve only fixed the issue in clear sky though.
I also did it in vanilla, idk if the error can be caused by mods / fixed by uninstalling said mods.
Back on track, this is what I did and it worked, game finally launched. I pray it works for you too if you found this post.
First I did a full reinstall, I went into windows explorer (right click game in steam, browse game files) and deleted everything in the game folder then uninstalled and reinstalled on steam.
Second, there’s a file at the bottom of the stalker clear sky game folder called user ltx. Copy that (COPY, don’t move) user ltx file into the app data folder at the top of the clear sky game folder, then overwrite it if the prompt to comes up.
Finally, I turned off steam cloud for the game as I heard that can restore the corrupted files and brick your game again. I don’t know if it actually does anything but it was the last thing I did before the game finally launched successfully.
After actual years of it not working and trying every fix I could find online, this is the one that finally worked. So if you’re someone years down the line who had the same problem and couldn’t find any help or anything online either, I hope this works for you. Also, I don’t know if yours will work too, but I fully deleted and reinstalled the game like 50 times and I still had all my saves + they loaded when it finally launched again, so I hope your saves work as well if your game got bricked mid playthrough like mine did. I ended up restarting anyways but if you don’t want to have to resort to that then best of luck.
If the above didn’t work for some reason then I’m sorry, I also read that opting into a clear sky beta works (right click on steam, then properties and betas) but it didn’t work for me when I tried.
For the uninitiated who are reading this, this error basically means the game will crash completely before starting up. Like that little box will pop up with the guy with the taped AK and the name of the game for like 3 seconds, then it will close and the game will crash, not even making it off the steam page. It makes the game completely unplayable, uninstalling verifying files etc. doesn’t work. Very not fun.

So I have a used Latitude 3570 with extended battery (67 Wh). I am a second owner. I have it for quite a while but it is really lightly used. I am planning to sell it but it has a weird battery problem.
I've checked with BatteryInfoView and it info as follows:
- Design Capacity: 66 600 mWh
- Full Charged Capacity: 56 077 mWh
- Current Capacity Value: 66 600 mWh
- Current Capacity in %: 118,8%
- Battery Health: 84,2%

Hi
I just discovered the Hik Connect app and I am playing around with it. Might be handy when I get my new hybrid camera with 2 way audio. Blue-Iris is my main central NVR for all my CCTV in my home
But I also have some Dahua IP Camera's
Would this work with the app? Ive tried connecting them with the port my Dahua uses but no luck
Just wanted to check before I assume it wont work with other brands

A genuine question for administrators. How about creating a glossary with the acronyms used? I'm newbie on this sub and a few days ago I didn't know the meaning of the acronym AP (annual passholder - now I know).
Today I came across the flair NSFM (in a post about a photo of the MK parking lot) which I don't know the meaning of. I'm one of those people who likes to read the manual before asking questions so as not to disturb the force hahahaha
I looked on the sub's wiki and couldn't find it, so if it exists and you can provide the link, I would be immensely grateful. Me and maybe other people who have English as a second language.

34F white, anxious I work in a derm clinic.. in the morning the doctor used a comedone extractor & I left it in the tin the whole shift with enzymatic fluid. When I was cleaning the tools, the end of the comedone extractor which has a sharp point pierced through my glove & touched my skin. I felt the touch. Now I’m not sure if it broke skin or not but my skin still feels weird idk if it’s my anxiety that’s making me feel like something happened & I feel sensations there or skin broke. Here’s a picture of my hand I see little marks I’m not sure what that is but here’s the image https://imgur.com/a/AP2DzCk are these puncture wounds. Is there a risk of HIV or Hep C transmission? In general any tool that sticks you can transmit these viruses right? I have history of hep b that cured itself but idk how I got it so I’m a bit paranoid when it comes to these things thanks
