2024.11.26 11:37 NayaLawrin Does Adobe After Effects have better animation process than Toon Boom Harmony?
First of all, let me say that I've been animating in After Effects since the beginning of my career and I'm used to all sorts of scripts and tools, such as Duik. I'm animating a cut-out children's series in a smaller studio, the animation of which isn't quite at the Disney level, but it's still pretty good (due to limited resources, of course).
We recently started thinking about moving the workflow to Toon Boom Harmony. We hope that this will increase the quality of the animation and not extend the workflow too much, since the budget remains the same.
I was initially very impressed with Harmony. It allows for many things that After Effects doesn't, such as drawing, frame by frame, node view, very intuitive deformers, 360 character rotation, etc.
But when it comes to animation, I'm disappointed every time, because it doesn't go as fast as in After Effects. After Effects has a very good timeline, keyframes are easily distinguishable and you can manipulate them both on the timeline and in the camera view, each one separately or several together, you can clearly see all the interpolations between them (ease-ins, ease-outs); a very clear and flexible motion path; not to mention the graph editor where, unlike in Harmony, you can see the entire timeline if you want. What surprised me was that Harmony does not have a well-designed IK mechanism, which works without problems in Afters Effects.
In contrast, in Harmony I keep looking for individual tiny keyframes that are difficult to select and difficult to manipulate, I cannot grab several keyframes and change their parameters all at once, I do not see the motion path for most things and the graph editor is terrible. In short, animation is extremely slow and annoys me most of the time.
I think I may have simply learned to animate differently with After Effects and since Harmony requires a more traditional way of animating, this is now causing me problems. Or are After Effects actually more advanced and better in the animation process than Harmony?
What are your experiences? Is there anyone who has switched from After Effects to Harmony and was very satisfied? Or from Harmony to After Effects and found that animation is actually easier?
I know that in Harmony you can animate incredibly good things, but if the animation process is much longer than in After Effects, we may not be able to afford it.

За 3 месяца сменил 4 места работы и понял, что работа в общепите не для меня. Работал в 15 лет аниматором, полез искать вакансии, но всё находится в Москве ( А я сам из Подольска - под Москвой). Для курьера нужен электровелик, но денег для его аренды нет. Смотрел всяких кассиров, офисных работников, консультантов, но работодатели тупо не отвечают (хоть есть пометка 16+).
У меня есть знакомые, которые работали на стройке, есть тип, который работает ночным сторожем и ещë один, который работал ночные смены то ли в озон, то ли в Вайлдберриз, хоть всем им не было 18. Чтожделать и гдеискатьн такие вакансии?

My father is 72 and I want to get a health insurance for him. I contacted Care insurer foe their Freedom plan worth 10lakh with 30% co payment.
My father is a dementia patient but has no other issue. The insurer is asking to exclude all complications related to dementia from the insurance. I am worried that they might exclude claims in future if there are fracture due to disbalance or organ failures such as lungs hearts stomach etc.
The yearly premium is fairly hefty for me, 90k+ annually. I am looking for suggestion from the community on how to approach this. I have about 8 lakh saved up for my father's treatment but nothing more than that.

First thing first, I'm a prismatic titan main pvp enthusiast with a high persistence levels. I suck but I like pvp. I was running trials this weekend when I noticed that a lot of teammates / ops can trigger their super at the late stage of the game (usually a 4-4 or 4-3) while I can never fill my bar quickly enough. I already have 100 res, 85 rec so my Intel level is not great, I think 40 ish, what's the secret sauce? Is it a perf thing, a warlock/hunter thing ?
