2024.11.26 12:29 ncasson241 TUPE and redundancy payment question

I was recently informed that I am going to be TUPE'd across to a new employer in the new year, and that there is no direct match for my current position.
However the new employer has indicated that there are 2 new roles being created; the issue is that one is a wage I couldn't live on, and the other would involve a lot of nationwide travel which I couldn't do as I have a young family (my current job is currently homebased).
My ideal scenario is that they will make me redundant and I can find a new job elsewhere, but I'm worried that if I didn't apply for one of the newly created roles then the new employer could use that to try and get out of paying me my redundancy package.
Can anyone give any guidance?

So I ordered a custom wheelchair about a year and a half ago. It’s excellent it’s a colours wheelchair and i love it. The only issue now is that i’ve lost a bit of weight. Therefore the width of my wheelchair seat is about two inches too big (one inch gap on each side) but everything else fits perfectly and i cannot afford a new chair and i will not sell this as i purchased it in full for 3k. I’m curious to see if i can get it either adjusted, add something to it, where i could get it adjusted etc. Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I just got a brand new Sandero Stepway this weekend - absolutely LOVE it - but have a question about its reconfigurable roof bars.
Basically, I want to carry a flat-packed cot on the roof which I assume will be 80x120x15cm and maybe 6-10kg once flattened, wrapped in a blanket then wrapped in pallet wrap, and I've got some ratchet straps to tie it down with. Can I just reconfigure the bars, sling the cot up there and strap it down, no further equipment necessary? I can't see why not but I understand that I know very little about carrying loads on the roof of a car so I'm asking in an effort to not Dunning-Kruger myself into losing my kid's bed on the M1 while driving five hours to our new home...
