2024.11.26 12:46 _Frank_Jaeger_ 1997 Ford Mustang GT Automatic Transmission key fob issue even with new battery
I even have a sencond fob and both will not either lock or unlock the vehicl. Theres no corrosion or any visible breaks in parts of or on the small circuit board/battery slot inside.
I was leaving work after 7pm Sunday night trying anything until I was too cold and it was too dark to not try to open the door with the key UNLOCK the car from the inside to disengage the alarm HOPING I could turn the key and start it. Needless to say obvioulsy it didnt do the trick to disengage the alarm so I could start it. Never owning one before I had no idea.
After a few cycles of the alarm going off I got pissed and like ive done when the battery is dying or isnt fully getting contact inside the key fob, I while holding it in my right hand slapped slapped it a little harder than lightly into the palm of mt left hand. Hoping to knock contact into place etc.
THIS LAST TIME IT UNLOCKED THE CAR!? Obviously started the car immediatley and drove home.
How can I disconnect the fob lock alarm system from the battery safely so I can just use my key from now on for everything. To open the car, start it and ill lock and unlock from the inside of door from now on. Will the car still start if I disconnect the alarm? Can it be easily disconnected?
Any insight as to what the key fob issue was and if/how I can disconnect the battery and the car still start etc Id really appreciate.

Hey All,
Let me know if I need to post this somewhere else. I am trying to find confirmation but I do not have access to the NFPA 70e codes.
We have a machine (workplace) that has a local disconnect switch at the machine controls/power box. We then have a service disconnect switch located on the bar, but it elevated off the ground roughly 8-10 feet. We then have a main disconnect on the wall that.
The main disconnect shuts off power to the machine/service disconnect, but also to other equipment in the area.
The service disconnect is supposed to cut service to the bar, which powers machine in question, as well as two others when plugged into it.
The local disconnect switch on the controls/power box for the machine cuts service directly to the machine itself.
My question is, since we have a main, and a local disconnect switch, can that service disconnect be located at the height it is? The only time we would touch that disconnect would be for planned maintenance. Otherwise, we would shut power at the main on the wall, or we would shut power right at the local. The two other machines can be unplugged from the bar at any point.
I believe that we still need to maintain the 6'7" max height requirement for switches, but they really want to avoid the work needed to correct this. Hoping one of you electrical geniuses can confirm.

I filed for a re-argument because I missed a child support meeting. (Long story). But it was an unfair turn of events. So I filed and had to send a certified mail to all parties involved.
Mailman knocked on the door my middle child (14F) answered mother wasn’t home. She knew it had something to do with the child support.
She starts texting me how unfair I was being and I was trying to hurt mom near Christmas. I could save money instead of all this court stuff and just let it go and let mom get money besides it is for us right?
To understand why she got upset is around their older sisters birthday I sued their mother because she broke custody agreement. The only reason I sued over something petty is because she sued me for returning the kids to her a day late. (At the time I lived states apart so I had to fly them down and the day I chose was cheaper) anyway, when I sued the kids and her had a trip planned and she said because of my actions she had to delay the trip.
I’m not suing to hurt their mother just I don’t think $3g a month for child support Is fair now that I live near and am waiting for visitation mods. Which in turn will change child support.
I explained to her I’m not trying to hurt your mother I’m trying to make things fair. I love you and your sisters and would never do anything to hurt them, their mother or put them in a position not to be successful.
It’s exhausting to be the nice guy while being labeled the bad guy.
