I am transgender (MTF) and I was adopted at birth in a closed adoption by conservative Christian parents. I don’t have a relationship with my adoptive parents now due to their hateful views. I never thought of finding my birth parents even before my transition as I used to think if they didn’t want me then, what’s the point of finding them now. I didn’t want to interfere in their lives and cause them anguish.
Now in my thirties and after transitioning, I am feeling incomplete more than ever. I feel curious to know them. I am afraid though that they might reject me and more importantly my identify. They are also very likely to be conservative Christians as my adoption was through church. I face enough transphobia as it is so I don’t think I can take further transphobia from my birth parents. My curiosity and the thought of being part of their family is kind of overwhelming though.

Well, him choosing to be selfless and save Crisanta really got me good. If you’ve seen ending A, you realize what he’s giving up to save her… and it’s a decision he’s making outside of anyone’s influence. When he takes off the helmet and finally feels free of his responsibilities and penance… free of the endless cycles of death and rebirth but more importantly, free of the curse of immortality. No matter how nice it looks in ending A, even the celestial figures at the end are cursed with an immortal life of servitude and worship to a higher power.

But something doesn’t sit right with me.
Zapathasura wasn’t just some old vampire. He was an Antediluvian—one of the beings closest to the source of vampiric power. This is someone with reality-bending Chimerstry at a godlike level, capable of creating illusions that could fool Methuselahs and reshape perceptions on a massive scale. Pair that with sky-high Fortitude, and he’s practically indestructible.
Would nukes and a few powerful Kindred really be enough to kill him? Or is it more likely that Zapathasura faked his death using his unparalleled Chimerstry? Think about it: an Antediluvian would know their awakening would cause a massive response. Why wouldn’t he plan for that?

Hi all,
So im located in FL. I want to do a 21'x'43x54" in my side yard. My questions are,
- Has anyone installed their pool and regretted it? Would you have rather paid someone to do it for you? I see that most people install their above ground pools by themselves.
- I'm thinking of hiring an excavator company to dig the ground out, likely an additional 3 feet out on each side so we can build a deck. Has anyone here done their own excavating with no experience? I know Home Depot rents out an excavator for around $1k a week. With a pool this size it sounds difficult to get perfectly level. I know you have to build a retention wall which I'm more than capable of doing.
I'm up for the challenge of the deck and retention fence and assembling the pool but the excavating is what I'm worried about.

整体来说，是因为大环境对台湾人的塑造程度比较低，因此对一个人气质的改变与催化相对缓和。
给人感觉“年轻”大概具有什么特质？理想化的思想、比较做自己、更自由無畏、更相信社会正义、拥有没被社会摧残过的样子、个性比较柔软可塑、低爹味、以及容貌上的年轻。我先以“少年感”称之。而一个人气质的大致上来源于两个面向：家庭、社会。因此，这是环境的差别导致这种气质的差别。以下的回答，是我一个在大陆生活的台湾人对于整个社会氛围的感受，因为在做两岸的对比，可能比较主观、直白，但都只是相对的问题而已，可以一起讨论～
相对大陆，台湾的环境给人灌输的社会压力较低，相对比较不会有“什么年纪该做什么事”的思维框架在，因此很多30、40岁的人，仍然能保有一种比较少年感的方式在生活。在这环境下，有不少台湾人在30多岁仍然去读研、去离岛打工换宿、出国旅居、做不赚钱的理想事像是做音乐、参加非营利组织 等等在大陆朋友看起来比较“虚”的事情。
而大陆呢？大陆不是没有这种人，相反我也见过不少，但是以目前正处于发展时期并且实用主义当道、社会氛围尚且趋利保守的大陆社会来说，目前遭遇到的排斥力还是太大了，很多搞理想的人难以找到自己的生态位，主流社会对低产出的次文化相对不待见，因此这类人在大陆社会的姿态总是会有一种施展不开拳脚、不被理解乃至于被现实不断消耗的狼狈感（但也正因如此，我感觉大陆这类群体彼此之间在相遇的时候会有更多的惺惺相惜、抱团感会更明显）。理论上来说这种人理应是题目中最能有少年感的群体，但大环境却决定了这类人会充满着对现状的无力，因此也相对比较少“少年感”。
大陆的社会普遍对于一个人的气质状态有着很大的催化作用，因此年轻人出社会的内心冲击感很多时候要远远大于台湾年轻人。大部分人一出社会（甚至在本科期间）就必须要面对很多身不由己的现实考量，结婚、工作、买车、买房、生子、户籍、体制、在这样的社会下，你能感觉到出社会的人会随着一年年在快速变得世故老练，我大陆的大学朋友在出社会一两年后，气质都和原本的学生时期相比发生了很大的变化，在这样的环境下，见面的时候很多数时候是在聊如何“琢磨”这个社会。
不过，这种“反少年感”的社会氛围，其实在出社会前早就存在了，在大陆的大学、高校里，很多时候玩音乐、玩社团就是不正经，早恋就是叛逆，整体的大环境常常在塑造你、教你做人做事，作为一个大陆人，很多时候人生的职涯就像单行道一样没得选择，一个阶段结束就马上要进入下一个阶段。而越长大反而也没有因此获得自由，因为每个阶段总有人能教你“什么才是对的事”，主旋律的对错观强烈，“大人就该有大人的样子”、“长这么大还在XXX”“这能赚多少钱？”的声音不绝于耳，对错观强烈，很多讲做人大道理的影剧、书籍，保持年轻的、理想的样子是不受到祝福的、做一些莫名其妙的不赚钱的事情是会被批判质疑的，整个社会更加推崇一个懂得各种生存法则、人情世故、社会潜规则的“人精”。我很常看到大陆社会在讨论一件事情的时候，诸如“你还是太年轻/天真了”、“如何快速变得成熟世故？”、“一个成熟的人有哪些特质”等话语频闪而过，这种论述在台湾是比较不讨喜、不待见的，却在大陆的舆论场占有不小的位置。
某种程度上，少年感在大陆社会就是比较政治不正确的东西，整个社会特别看不惯态度上天真、理想的人，孩子说想进游戏公司上班，长辈马上泼冷水告诉他大环境的现实，职场上看到有纯真的新鲜人就想迫不及待要指教他“社会的残酷”，你很难在30、40岁了还可以像孩子一般耍宝、开玩笑而不会有被外界眼光审视的压力，甚至很多人还没30岁就会在姿态上开始端着揣着，特别担心被别人感觉没有阅历。
台湾这边的情况就没那么卷了，受益于发展得早、生活压力比较低，整体成长环境相对还是健康些，比较能包容一个年轻人出社会的原生态（比较），原本的理想受到社会摧残的程度比较小。想发展音乐、个人爱好都比较有空间，比较有机会发展自我价值，年轻人的幸福指数比较高，因此也比较能长时间维持住少年感。
其实西方那些发达社会也是如此的，很多家境好的西方人，出社会好几年一样能用炯炯有神的告诉你他想要创业、想要学语言学音乐、想要回学校进修、正打算去某个国家待着。此外，你如果有去东南亚晃一圈也可以看到大把大把30、40岁的白人，旅行起来的姿态就跟20出头岁的小伙子没两样，跋山涉水、买台摩托车到处浪，数年如一日，先不论这到底有没有意义，就问你这样的生活能多显老？
此外还有一点，在交谈上，台湾人更多的会在言论中表达自己的情绪，诸如“欸你怎么这样”“是喔！”、“我觉得超不爽的”、“看到他的时候，我真的好想哭喔”...等等，这类把自己感受表达出来的话语在台湾年轻人交谈的时候很常出现，你比较容易在交谈中感受到台湾人的本质情绪，也因此会更感觉像是自己真实的本色表达，这种情绪的外显也是年轻感的要素之一。相对而言，大陆朋友在聊天的时候，即便讲到自己的状态，很多时候也是用比较高的视角去解构这件事，比较少让人感觉到脆弱的一面，因此就更多的会给人一种tough的坚强，这种特质也比较“反少年感”。两岸的同龄朋友在交流的时候，时常都是大陆那一方更显得成熟、圆滑世故，台湾这一方的会相对看起来更纯真/天真。
还有一点值得一提，大陆的代际之间矛盾比较大，促使年轻人更推向社会；台湾人上一代的经济、教育水平已经和这代其实远没有像大陆的落差如此之大，因此长辈和晚辈之间的姿态比较柔软，“做你喜欢的事情我就会支持你”、“你开心我就开心” 代际之间相对少出现“我是你父/母亲，所以你就要听我的xxx”、这种论调，整体大陆的父母辈和子女有着相对更大的价值观鸿沟，父母对于子女成长的得失心更明显。因此许多大陆年轻人与其受到父母的教诲，更宁愿出社会接受大环境的洗礼。家庭环境＋社会环境双重塑造之下，变得更加世故成熟。
但是台湾社会就没有自己的问题吗？很多时候，在讨论一些议题时，这种天真、过度的理想化有时会导致议题脱离了现实。而这些脱离现实的政治判断很有可能导致极端政治的出现，也因此，不少白左议题在台湾整体而言比大陆更加有市场。

I'm lost. I wonder if this has happened to others here, or if it's even normal.
My coming out to myself happened in early 2023, and it was not pretty. I've dealt with depression most of my life, but the speed and severity of my mental health's decline once I realize i was trans was far above the rest. It was probably the single most devastating event in my life, and my outright-failed college semester is only the tip of that iceberg.
I have some recollection of the weeks leading up to my gender crisis...frankly a lot of those memories feel like they happened to someone else, like they're more separated form me by more than just time. I've changed a lot since then, granted....they just have a dream-like quality to them.
I have the memory of the weeks leading up to my gender crisis. I can see how my shell was failing all around me, looking back. I recall having a breakdown at my desk as I first consciously started grappling with the idea of being trans....and then nothing. Truly, I can count the number of clear, visual memories I have of the next few months on both hands. I remember the broad facts about my life, as if they had been recoutned to me, but there's almost never any sound, any visual memory. The first half of 2023 is blank in my mind. I dont know what to make of it
