2024.11.26 14:40 Perdyn Should I paint a mural on my wall?

Hey all!
The gallery wall that's hanging at the moment feels a bit inadequate for the space. An idea was to rearrange/add to it, but I'd still be left with the space on the next wall and behind the door.
So I thought I might paint a big mural on the wall, inspired by the reference pictures (by Minna Leunig). Color wise I'd go for a pastel shade that does well with the Persian rug. Maybe hang a mirror over the sideboard, that would nicely reflect the balcony view on the opposite site.
Would a mural drown out the room? Is it too much?
What do you think?

26F and will be moving to Chicago this upcoming Spring for a work opportunity. I've never been to Chicago before so I'm clueless as to which neighborhoods would be a good fit. I would like the neighborhood to be relatively safe, but it doesn't have to be gated-community safe. I'm from Memphis so a little crime doesn't bother me, but there are places in Memphis I steer clear of. So, I'm sure every city has those places, too. Mainly, the most affordable neighborhood that is still somewhat safe. Diverse food options would be a delight too. My budget is $1,200/month but would love to bring that price down.
Where should I look?

So recently thanks to Jay Quit PMO, I've began studying the topic of memory reconsolidation, I've read Alun Parry's How To Erase Trauma Response, and what I got from it is that you need to do discovery to find out what your core belief is that is making you do what you don't want to do, then you need to trigger it, the emotional brain will make a prediction and in that moment you need to mismatch it with opposing feelings, then repeat about 3 times so the core belief is erased. Seems simple enough right? The problem is that is really difficult to do that on your own, that's why you would need someone else to do it for you, the discovery part is most of the job, you need to find out your core belief, and that it's pretty hard to do it yourself. If anyone's interested you can comment down below because I'm looking for someone so we can mutually help each other.

Hello! I'm posting this on behalf of my mom. She has a MotoG Power and for the last couple weeks has been unable to open any links on her phone-via email, text, messenger etc. I did a quick google and made sure that links were allowed per those specific apps but even after toggling them on and off, clearing the defaults, restarting phone and making sure it was fully updated, still no luck. Any ideas on what could be happening/how I can fix it for her? Thanks!

Hi :D I got married about 2 months ago to a beautiful woman who owns 2 cats- both 1 year old now.
I never liked cats or owned any beforehand, but have since learned a lot about what it's like to live with them and develop a relationship with them.
Just over a week ago I made a spontaneous decision to purchase 2 long-haired sibling kittens (I hated the idea of leaving one behind) and have brought them home with a dedicated space in our bathroom to slowly get acquainted to the house before letting them explore without fear.
Unfortunately, our first week was pretty rough, and I definitely tried too hard to push for the kittens to free roam while hoping our existing cats would get used to seeing them all the time and be chill- they were not. Instead, the kittens would roam around, but would never just play around or relax in the open- they will always look for a place to hide or relax in. The cats already here definitely don't like them, hissing, growling, and running away whenever they see the kittens even from a distance. I think what ended up happening was the kittens were stressed, the cats were stressed, and as a result, things were just way too messy.
So as of a few days ago I decided to do a "hard restart", I plan on keeping the kittens in the bathroom for a long time to make sure they can confidently play and explore without any fear; at the same time, the cats don't feel like their territory is being taken over and hopefully they can re-aquaint themselves to the kittens smell and not associate it with stress. My fear is I really screwed up first impressions- there are even moments one of my cats will hiss and walk away from me if she smells kitten on my sweater. I think a hard reset and going very very slow is the best call.
That being said - if it wasnt obvious - I have never done something like this before. I've never raised kittens or any animal, especially not with cats who already exist in the house, so all I have are YouTube and you guys (and my wife) to make the best calls and try to learn as I go.
Do you think things will work out? Is patience really the key? What advice can you give to heal the relationship between the cats and kittens?
