so i'm a bass player and i was thinking about getting a new bass, since the one that i got is a 5 string fretless with flats and a sponge at the bridge, and since i've been getting into heavier genres i've been thinking about getting a bass that does a better job at that. Thing is, i see many people recommending active basses, but i don't really know what the proper stance is for batteries, i know it's maybe kind of a silly thing, but idk enough about it to make a decision, so i thought i'd might as well ask (i ask it here and not in Bass because i thought i could get a better response here).

Im a white person who grew up in Markham and in hindsight i wish i learned more Chinese from my friends growing up instead of just swear words. Any tips or resources for a grown adult non asian person to learn some basics? In person or Online? I know they are considered hard languages but im so surrounded by it and would like to at least try.

Hallo ihr lieben Mitmenschen,
Mein Partner und ich wollen endlich zusammen ziehen und haben auch eine entsprechende Wohnung gefunden und sogar den Zuschlag bekommen (Hurra!). Die Wohnung selbst befindet sich noch im Bau, soll aber zum 01.01.2025 bezugsfertig sein. Bisher liegt der Bau des Block auch sehr gut im Zeitplan, laut eigener Homepage und kurzer Begehung. Laut Mietvertrag der uns seit heute vorliegt, erfolgt die Übergabe voraussichtlich am 15.02.2024. Unsere alten/aktuellen Mietverträge haben die normale Kündigungsfrist von 3 Monaten. Dementsprechend müssten wir jetzt kündigen, damit wir zum 01.03.2025 nur noch die neue Wohnung bezahlen.
Unsere Sorge ist jetzt, dass wir "auf der Straße sitzen", wenn die Wohnung aber nicht rechtzeitig fertig werden würde. Oder das wir, bei einem späteren Kündigungsdatum, deutliche Mehrkosten hätten. Einen Nachmieter suchen, um schnellespäter aus dem Mietvertrag rauszukommen, ist bei keinem von uns beiden eine Option, da der jeweilige Vermieter da nicht mitmacht (beide Wohnungen werden wahrscheinlich erstmal umfassend modernisiert).
Hat da jemand Erfahrung und kann da einen Ratschlag erteilen?

25F I am pretty new to the arrange marriage thing, the guy I have been talking recently to seems nice, we have been chatting (haven’t spoken on phone yet). His family seems super educated and well to do compared to mine. I went through some major issues with my mental health due to personal stuff a couple of years ago which gravely affected my education, I am still in my undergrad because I had to take a break and because of that break I had to switch my major and move to general sciences. Because most of my courses are in my major and I just told him I am pursuing my major and didn’t get into much detail about why I am so late in graduating etc. My parents met up with his parents in some social setting - nice ppl but they do prioritize a good degree and education. When is the right time to tell him and clarify the whole situation. I get anxious that if things pan out well and then I go into detail they might not be happy with it. Moreover I am not the person who hides things it just I feel in arrange marriage in first few conversations if I open up completely - things do get around and I am pretty private about my things and like to keep it that way.

Howdy all! I'm wondering if I should pick up the Battleforce for T'au. my family got me Commander Farsight a couple of months ago and I want to start the army.
Would the Battleforce + Combat patrol be a good base for a Farsight list? Outside of shooting good I don't know a ton about their in game stats and play styles.

I love money as much as the next guy, but I need to love more about the job besides just the dollar bills. I need a new career and auto sales is one of 2 or 3 choices I'm looking at (being a realtor is another). I'm favoring car sales over realtor for one key reason: I am going to relocate in 10 years, and I can't take all those clients I will accumulate in the next 10 years with me as a real estate agent. That seems like a big problem, but I could always work for a car dealer when I move. So I ask you all, is there anything in this business to like or love besides the cash? Let me hear the good, the bad and the ugly. Happy Thanksgiving. Regardless of what the general public thinks, I know you guys bust your asses and I for one respect you all.

I swear the gastritis or acid is causing havoc.
I developed tinnitus at the same time of onset.
Now a couple months in and my eyes are dry and i get mild pain behind them. It makes me blink extremely hard. They also get these little red burst patches that come and go.
GP said my nasal passage is inflamed, my throat is red and inflamed.
Not to mention all the stomach pain and nausea.
This is not the disease to be dealing with when you have anxiety..
