I have a tall 20-gallon Freshwater Aquarium that I have been cycling for three weeks since the end of October. It has a moderate amount of plants, two rocks, a large structure decoration, and five nerite snails. I started with BioSand which has nitrifing bacteria and also a Black Substrate with Ph activation mineral. All parameters are great except for Hardness, which is high(off the chart), and Ammonia ranges from .25 to 1.0 daily. I have been doing daily water changes of 30–50%. I use Prime and API Aqua Essential for water conditioning and to treat the Ammonia, with API Leaf Zone and NEO Solution 2 & K for the plants. I have had my Nerites for a long time- since my last tank and 1 from the tank before (Note of History: I know they are supposed to live up to 2 years but mine are 2–4 years old). They eat the dead matter and algae in the tank and I throw a calcium tab in every month for them. There is algae in there all along the walls and I see it on the filter and on the bio media. I have heavy algae in my tap water.
I just want to know how long will it take me to cycle this tank or am I doing something wrong? None of my other tanks took this long and I didn’t have to do so many water changes. They all stayed under 2.5 and I changed every 3 days to once a week. How can I get this tank to those parameters and stability?

What are plant cultivars, such as white pumpkins, or dog breeds, such as chihuahuas? Are they substances or artifacts or both? Clearly there is a substance of some kind, because both the white pumpkin and the chihuahua are alive. But it seems that the essence of both are not wholly intelligible apart from humanity’s purposes for them. We would not say we have found a chihuahua if we spot an animal in the wild that closely resembles one, such as this fellow.
But at the same time, the way breeds and cultivars are created is not the same as what we would understand as an artifact. We don’t twist the dog into a chihuahua shape, we carefully breed it over many generations.

I've recently moved focus towards Sailor pens because of that crisp feedback they offer.
I bought a Kaweco Sport BB on pen swap not that long ago and I noticed it has that lovely pencil-like feedback I enjoy unlike the other Sport's I have which are more smooth.
This made me wonder if I could mimic that feedback on other FP nibs without having to send them out to a Nibmeister? Any feedback (no pun intended) would be greatly appreciated
