2024.11.26 18:40 Ecstatic_Speech_2323 rehired somehow ?
Hey y’all. I got fired for CAT1 a few months ago. I put in a bunch of random applications and one happened to be my old amazon FC. The hiring manager I spoke to said I would be able to return since it’s been “a few months” but to the best of my knowledge, CAT1 violation is a 5 year ineligibility to be rehired ?? can anyone explain

2024.11.26 18:40 DragonAether Framework 16 unresponsive after Windows 10 update
Hello everyone, I have a Framework 16 with dual boot of Windows 10 and Linux mint on separate drives.
It has been working fine up until a couple days ago when I updated windows 10 and now it seems to be completely bricked. At first the installation went fine, the computer turned on and finished installing the update. However after shutting it down, it doesn't seem to work. The fans spin but keyboard is unresponsive (ex. Changing keyboard backlight doesn't work) and screen doesn't even turn on.
I have tried an external keyboard, external monitor, uninstalled and reinstalled ram, uninstalled battery let it rest and plugged it back in, tried different keyboard configurations, tried with a single m.2 stick, tried without the gpu module, tried with gpu again. Letting it charge doesn't seem to do anything either. At first it did flash red and blue leds but now it's solid red.
The laptop hasn't received any damage either.
Does anyone know what might be the cause or how to fix this?
Thank you.

2024.11.26 18:40 BrokeBackBeekeeping RHEL 7 yum update issue
Hello all,
I was trying to update my RHEL 7 image with the latest updates. It is associated with my RHEL account and in previous months it was receiving updates just fine. I am kind of a newbie to RHEL and Linux, so please forgive me if I mispeak about terms etc...
When I would do a "yum update" It would show about 6 packages that It was seeing. 3 Epel, and 3 RHEL7 ones. But then it says "No packages marked for update"
I have tried various troubleshooting methods such as yum clean, removing all the old repos... etc... I tested a friend that was a linux guru and he had me send him images of my /etc/yum.conf and /etc/yum.repos.d file configs.... to which he responded saying there was not a single working mirror where my repo's are pointing to. They are all empty or have readmes saying they have been archived.
He then suggested that I point my server to Oracle's Linux repository as he said CentOS, Redhat, and Oracle are all compatible package wise.
He gave me a how to article that suggested I run the command:
yum install -y oracle-softwarecollection-release-el7
To which I get the error: No package available, nothing to do
He then suggest that I just "Point it at this website via the /etc/yum.repos.d files:
https://yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/latest/aarch64/index.html
So I have tried replacing some of the repo files baseurl location with this URL... I have also tried creating my own file.repo rile with that as the baseurl but nothing is seeming to work.
So I am at a loss on what to do to update my rhel7 server.
Can anyone walk me through the process or point me to an article or video on how to get my rhel7 repos to either point to the oracle ones or some how update again?
Again, thank you for your time and I apologize for being a newbie :) Please be gentle.

2024.11.26 18:40 Subsourian StarCraft Lore for Newbies: The Protoss
Hey folks!
So wrapping up the threads I’ve been doing with the last of the three races, the protoss. Hopefully at least some of you have gotten some value out of these and might enjoy the set a tiny bit more when it drops. I realize this has become less a small dip and more of the deep end BUT whatever.
If you want a good primary source to start looking into the lore yourself, I recommend the
StarCraft 1 manual which remains nice solid intro to every race’s backstory.
The Protoss The protoss first evolved on the jungle world of Aiur. An organized, tribal species, the protoss had an innate psionic link with one another which they would use to coordinate with others of their species. This caught the eye of renegades of a god-like race named the xel’naga. These xel’naga under one named Amon sought to uplift a species into their concept of “purity of form,” or great psionic potential, and saw within this species that capacity. After millennia of manipulation from the shadows and strengthening their psionic link, the xel’naga saw their creation as sufficiently advanced, and revealed themselves to them. Their creation took on the name “protoss,” or “firstborn,” to denote their status as these xel’naga’s first successful creation.
For a long while protoss society flourished under the eye of the xel’naga, but as time passed individual egos and tribal divisions saw the protoss gradually withdraw from their communal psionic link. The xel’naga under Amon saw this as a sign they pushed the protoss too quickly, and that they had failed in their experiments, and set to depart Aiur. The protoss heard of this and were enraged, the tribes ambushing the xel’naga at their worldships, but to little avail. The rage turned toward hatred of one another, and the tribes plunged into war for thousands of years, a brutal period known as the Aeon of Strife.
Yet a mystic who came to be known as Khas found technology leftover by the xel’naga in their khaydarin crystals, and discovered how to use it to reignite the psionic link the protoss had lost. As he spread this link, protoss found an understanding with one another, unable to hate one another in their empathic bond. Soon the protoss race was one under Khas’s teachings, and he organized society under this link, named the Khala, or “path of ascension.” These new “Khalai” tribes were structured into three castes, the Khalai Caste (yes it’s the Khalai Caste of the Khalai, it’s confusing) who were workers, scientists, and artists, the Templar Caste who were the warriors of the protoss, and the Judicator Caste which would serve as statemen. Leading their society would be the Conclave, the highest of Judicators. The Protoss Empire was born.
The Empire expanded past Aiur through the stars, in a Golden Age of Expansion where the protoss sought to explore the secrets of the universe. Taking the mantle of their creators, the protoss adopted a stance named the Dae’Uhl, or Great Stewardship, to protect lesser races in their domain without interfering with them. The Empire grew mighty over thousands of years, but internally began to grow stoic and stagnant, the Conclave set in their vision of the Khala. This came to a head when tribes who valued their individuality severed themselves from the Khala, removing their nerve cords that biologically allowed them to connect. The Conclave ordered a venerated Templar executor named Adun to purge these renegades, but Adun refused to kill fellow protoss, and instead hid them. However, this deception did not last long, but after Adun threatened to expose the renegade’s existence it was agreed to exile these renegades from Aiur. These would become the dark templar, or Nerazim, and would be deemed heretics for the next thousand years.
The Empire continued its stagnate period, and passively observed the arrival of the terran ships in the Koprulu Sector. Though greedy and destructive, they did not intervene, until the young executor Tassadar discovered probes of a new species uplifted by the xel’naga; the zerg. Psionically observing their biological probes, the protoss discovered the zerg sought to assimilate humanity. The Conclave gave Tassadar an edict; burn every terran world infested by the zerg. And so Tassadar did so to the human world of Chau Sara, throwing the terrans unaware of the zerg into a panic. The Great War had begun.
As the war spiraled on, Tassadar refused to become a party to the genocide of terrans, and gradually allowed them time to escape before on their capital of Tarsonis refusing to purity the planet at all. This came to a head with terran forces attacked the protoss ground forces and pushed their saviors back. Without a footing, Tassadar’s forces were forced to retreat from Tarsonis, and the Conclave demanded he return to Aiur to answer why he defied them. But a psionic call from a remote volcanic world named Char echoed through space, and Tassadar investigated rather than returned to Aiur. There he found the zerg had rallied to this volcanic world, and had infested the human psychic Sarah Kerrigan into a new psionic superweapon.
While there, Tassadar met with the dark templar Zeratul, also drawn to Char by Kerrigan. Initially hostile to the heretic, Tassadar eventually warmed to him, and learned the ways of the Void which could harm the zerg’s hive mind itself. Also there was the terran renegade Jim Raynor, who allied with the protoss against the zerg. However, when Zeratul attacked the hive mind in their assaults, it caused him to touch minds with the Overmind itself, accidently revealing Aiur’s location. The zerg invaded en masse, slaughtering millions of protoss. Yet the Conclave refused to admit it was losing, and send the new executor Artanis to retrieve Tassadar for arrest, but Artanis, an old student of Tassadar, instead joined him. Together the two returned to Aiur, subdued the Conclave, and drove their forces into the heart of the Overmind. When they were almost pushed back, Tassadar combined Zeratul’s teachings with his own, and rammed his carrier into the Overmind in a sucide run, destroying the creature and shattering the swarm.
Though a victory, it was a costly one, and the feral zerg rampaged across the surface, spurred on by the remaining subordinate cerebrates who sought to eliminate the protoss. Unable to remain on Aiur, the Khalai fled through a xel’naga warp gate to the dark templar world of Shakuras, but the zerg soon followed. Using a xel’naga temple and two crystals, the protoss unleashed an energy wave that purified the planet of the zerg. For a brief time, the protoss had a respite, but Aiur was lost, and two cultures that hated eachother were forced to come together into a “unity government;” named the Daelaam. A Twilight Council was formed, and eventually Artanis was picked to lead them as Hierarch.
Missing a bunch of smaller things but that’s the main state going into StarCraft II, a once mighty empire brought to heel by its own hubris. Protoss are by far one of the most technologically advanced species in the known galaxy, with advanced robotics, great warships and powerful psionic warriors. They are able to utilize an energy lattice named the psionic matrix to power structures and warp in forces wherever they are needed. Their disadvantage however is their numbers, compared to the terrans and especially the zerg every protoss life is irreplaceable, and after Aiur’s fall the race is on the brink of extinction. Every protoss warrior is an army unto themselves, but is forced to be by necessity of their dying race.
Factions - Khalai: The Aiur protoss who are the most numerous, these protoss were bound by the psionic link of the Khala (before it gets hijacked in StarCraft II and severed The Khalai had a great empire that covered much of the galaxy, where they watched over lesser races, but their leadership became stoic and stuck on their failing traditions, leading to the doom of Aiur. The Khalai value the collective, and their caste system had meant that each focused on the strongest aspect of themselves to contribute to the whole. With the Conclave gone, Hierarch Artanis and the various tribal leaders now lead the Khalai.
- Nerazim: Also known as dark templar, these protoss warriors were exiled from Aiur a thousand years before the games start due to their severing themselves from the Khala. Hunted and hated by their brothers, the Nerazim adopted a nomadic lifestyle of stealth and subterfuge, focusing on hiding in the shadows and channeling the energy of the cosmic Void. The Nerazim are highly individualistic but maintain clan relations with one another, usually united under a Matriarch. This is why protoss got rogue.
- Tal’darim: When Amon and his xel’naga left Aiur, a number of protoss served on their worldships who forsook tribal bonds to serve their xel’naga masters. These Amon left in a section of space named the Sigma Quadrant and gave a strict set of warlike guidelines. These protoss became the Tal’darim, or “the Forged,” and were fanatically devoted to the xel’naga who sired them, Amon. Tal’darim society is warlike and brutal, bound to a Chain of Ascension where one commands the chains below but is subservient to the chains above. Should one feel they are stronger than a chain above them, they can challenge them to ritual combat named Rak’Shir for their rank. Once under Amon, the ascension of Highlord Alarak led the Tal’darim to break away from the xel’naga and forge their own path.
- Purifiers: An army of robotic warriors led by AI replicas of the great heroes of protoss history, the first Purifiers were commissioned by the Conclave to make a loyal and unfeeling army devoted to them. Yet to the Conclave, these personalities were tools just like all their other robotics, and being seen as bound in slavery, the Purifiers rebelled. The Khalai put down the rebellion and sealed the Purifiers in their station of Cybros, forbidding such advanced AI development in the future. Yet in secret, the Conclave maintained development of a new Purifier program, which when Amon returned was activated under a replica of the protoss hero Fenix. Together, they rallied the ancient Purifiers to rejoin a new, fairer society under Artanis. The mechanical bodies of Purifiers are shells, and the true being is an AI construct that can “jump” between shells as needed.
the ihan-rii aren’t real so I’m not listing them Racial Hero: Hierarch Artanis
Artanis is a Templar warrior born into a generational rift in Khalai society, with the older Conclave maintaining a stoic and traditional view of involvement in galactic affairs, while Artanis was part of a new generation who wanted to push for proactive reforms. Artanis studied under Executor Tassadar, and was one of the youngest protoss ever to achieve the rank of praetor (and later executor). When war with the zerg broke out, Tassadar defied the Conclave’s genocidal orders to purify the human worlds to stop the zerg from assimilating them, leading to his dismissal of Tassadar and appointment of Artanis as High Executor.
(as an aside, yes Artanis was retroactively made the character you play as in SC1’s protoss campaign. Yes that gets REALLY messy as he was a character introduced in Brood War as a lower rank than executor, but he had a clearly dark templar model in Brood War so it wasn’t like it wasn’t messy anyway)
Not long after the zerg invaded Aiur, obliterating its cities and population. The Conclave managed the affairs of the Templar in the war, but did so poorly while refusing to admit they were losing the war, and instead took Artanis from Aiur to hunt down Tassadar. However, when he found Tassadar on the infested planet of Char, Artanis instead sided with him in spite of his allying with the heretical dark templar under Dark Prelate Zeratul and primitive humans under Jim Raynor. Together, they returned to Aiur, defying the Conclave and even engaging them in open warfare when they arrested Tassadar. Artanis then helped command the final assault on the zerg’s Overmind, in which Tassadar gave up his life to obliterate the hive mind and shatter the Swarm.
Though they won, the rampaging zerg under the remaining cerebrates drove the surviving protoss from Aiur, and Artanis oversaw the retreat of Aiur’s population to the Nerazim world of Shakuras. But the zerg followed then, and Artanis along with Zeratul used two xel’naga crystals to activate an ancient temple, obliterating the zerg from Shakuras. With Shakuras secure, Artanis navigated Kerrigan’s false alliances, the invasion of the human United Earth Directorate, and a mad dark archon trying to drive the Khalai from Shakuras, until finally he sent a fleet to attempt to destroy a weakened Kerrigan at Char. Artanis’s fleet was obliterated.
Artanis returned to Shakuras, where he helped reform the scattered refugees and Nerazim society into the Daelaam, or Unity Government, a fusion of both Khalai and Nerazim. However, old hatred meant that little got done in council but bickering, and though he hated taking a civilian leadership role, the only protoss the council could agree to lead them was Artanis. Thus, Artanis became Hierarch, the head of all unified protoss, and set about rebuilding the protoss fleets to reclaim Aiur.
Years later, the protoss weathered a second zerg invasion by tightening their borders, and when Kerrigan vanished, they launched their new protoss fleet named the Golden Armada to invade Aiur. But there they found that the xel’naga who uplifted them, Amon, had returned, and took control of all protoss connected to the Khala. Zeratul gave his life to free Artanis, and Artanis rallied the last freed protoss together aboard a massive arkship, the Spear of Adun. After a protracted war against Amon’s minions, Artanis rallied the Tal’darim and Purifiers, and using a xel’naga relic drove Amon from the Khala long enough for his people to free themselves. With Amon gone (and later killed when Artanis and terran/zerg forces invaded the Void), Artanis could rebuild a new society on Aiur.
Artanis exemplifies the unwavering warrior code of the Templar, but also the teachings of his mentor Tassadar. He sees unity as the end goal of his government, bringing all protoss together under one banner, but this has caused issue with those that feel their identity being erased in the name of unification. Though very young and sometimes hotheaded, Artanis has tried to remain a voice of reason for his people as they navigated a decade of near obliteration at the hands of the zerg.
His card art is neat in that he’s using both his blade and the warp blade of Zeratul, the dark templar hero who died to free him. The background of his art is the briefing room for StarCraft 1 protoss missions, which may be a subtle nod to his role as the SC1 executor.
Class Speculation
This one’s a fun one for me since I’m not 100% sure thematically but I feel most fit some archetypes pretty well.
- Druid: Protoss robotics. This one’s less about nature and more about what they’ve mentioned where protoss will be about high mana costs being lowered or cheated out, a hallmark of druid, and protoss robotics such as immortals, reavers, colossi and dragoons would fit the idea of heavy firepower that’s costly but can be deployed tactically.
- Priest: Psionics. A lot of priest abilities tend to kind of fit the manipulative nature of protoss psionics, adjusting stats, mind control, silence. I expect things like the high templar, archon, even probably the zealot. If we go fully crazy we might even get the dark archon Ulrezaj but given the scope of the miniset, wishful thinking.
- Rogue: Dark Templar. Rogue’s focus on stealth, manipulation, traps and high damage fit the Nerazim arsenal really well. I expect dark templar, stalkers, oracles, possibly corsairs, with a focus on stealth.
- Mage: This one’s where I think I disagree with the popular idea as I don’t think this will be a traditional psionic spells class, but a Great Fleet/Golden Armada class. A lot of focus on high damage and board clears. I expect this is where we’ll get scouts, phoenixes, void rays, carriers, motherships, and maybe even protoss purification.
And that’s all three races! I know this has become less a newbie’s guide and more a longform deep dive BUT I hope at least some of you got something out of it. I get the impression a lot of Hearthstone fans are less than enthused the anniversary event is StarCraft while the SC community it’s thrilled the only thing related to their game has been in another game, but if these get even one person more interested in StarCraft
I’ll do lore dives as the cards themselves get revealed if there’s interest, so hopefully see you all then! Hey folks!

The mechanical bodies of Purifiers are shells, and the true being is an AI construct that can “jump” between shells as needed.
the ihan-rii aren’t real so I’m not listing them
Racial Hero: Hierarch Artanis

2024.11.26 18:40 MrCookie1202 Prime p20 spring issues
Specna arms m100 spring issues
Noob question, sorry in advance
I recently bought my first airsoft gun, a specna arms prime P20. When testing the gun with the m90 spring i get arround 0.8j with 0.25 bb’s. When changing to the default spring and m135 spring i get 1.5j and 1.8j respectivly with 0.25 bb’s.
As my local fields allow 1.2j i bought a specna arms m100 spring to try and boost the joules output compared to the m90 spring. However when i test the gun with the m100 spring i also get arround 0.8j with 0.25 bb’s. The m100 spring is also much more flexible compared to the m90 spring, however it is also a bit longer.
Am i doing something wrong? Should i try and test with an m110 spring? Different brand m100 spring? Or should i just accept the 0,8j with m90 spring (given that the gun shoots perfectly imo like that).
Any advice welcome! :)

2024.11.26 18:40 kablooie619 Tblisi for Christmas
We wanted to go to Europe (Prague/Vienna/Budapest) for Christmas to check out the Christmas markets and overall festive vibe.
From India what I'm realising is that it's too late to try to apply for Schengen visa. So instead was thinking of going to Georgia (Tblisi).
Is that a good option? Are there any other countries which will be good to visit instead?
I've heard that Switzerland is quicker with visas but it'll double our budget - so trying to make a decision.
Please help :)

2024.11.26 18:40 Quant0mNova 2006 CRF450X cold start battery
Just bought a new duralast AGM battery but it seems to struggle with a cold start for this bike and sometimes needs a jump before the bike can start after the starter runs it dry. Any suggestions for cold start for this bike or better cold start battery recommendations?

2024.11.26 18:40 lesboraccoon if you could upgrade any food prices in the game, what would you upgrade?
personally, i want them to upgrade omurice, espresso, and bagel, because those are all below 1000 cod.
i also wish they’d upgrade some stuff in the takeout menu, such as teddy biscuit, fresh milk, strawberry cone, and other foods that are below 100 even at max level.
the takeout thing is probably never gonna happen, unless they add a few “permission to raise takeout prices” letters (which would be helpful but again, not really expecting that).

Several friends are educators and I hear of their struggles and issues and I just feel so helpless. I want to rip the school board a new one as they are the where the power is, but I just feel like it's not even worth it and would fall on deaf ears. Sorry just venting.
