Bisoprolol make symptoms worse?

The Bisoprolol has reduced my heart rate from over 80 to around 50-55 and my BP is, on average, 136/70. My heart was definitely heading into crisis before taking Bisoprolol, despite the testes indicating that mechanically all was well, and this drug has slowed my heart and given it respite, and enabled it to mend itself. Bisoprolol belongs to the group of medicines referred to as beta-blockers. Bisoprolol works on the heart and blood vessels. It does this by blocking tiny areas (called beta-adrenergic receptors) where messages sent by some nerves are received by your heart and blood vessels. As a result, your heart beats more slowly and with less force. I know what you are saying, I also was diagnosed with AF 4 years ago now, also prescribed Bisoprolol 2.5 and also I'm like you in worrying that the AF may start again, I think we both know that we really should talk with our GP about any reduction but I am very tempted to try it on my own (I'm a bit awkward like that :0)), if I was to reduce it myself then I would cut it down to 1.25 each day ... I was in Bisoprolol just two months I was taking 10 mg ,Because my blood pressure is a little high, and it was the worst day of my life. I became like an old man. My body shivering, cold feet, dizziness, dizziness and ringing in the ears. I stopped taking it only after two months of using it. I have been on Bisoprolol 5mg, one daily, just for occasional palpitations and fluctuating high BP. I got the first supply from the surgery pharmacy and they were Bisoprolol Fumerate 5mg, then the next month's supply was just Bisoprolol 5mg, and of couse I was concerned. Bisoprolol is supposed to slow down your heartbeat and it could be this difference which you are feeling and it does no harm. However, the side effects here are mostly feeling extreme fatigue and weakness, so if you don't get these, then there would be no good reason to discontinue (unless of course your heartbeat is now too slow). I was prescribed the medication after suffering with chest pains and palptations along with a high heart rate, i went to the hospital and had an ECG which came back all clear and then had an chest x-ray which again came back all clear, a long with blood tests that were all clear. I have been taking Bisoprolol 1.25mg for about 2 months now. I had a heart stent 2.5 months ago and a second one 1 month ago. My echocardiogram is normal. I have suffered from low blood pressure most of my life and i want to come off the Bisoprolol now, but I am getting no support from my GP or Consutant.

Unwell sitting to standing vision problems sometimes nausea when bend down after standing been happening some years was put on bisoprolol years ago for ventricular ectopics only happens sitting to standing I've had no diagnosis to why? Seen a couple of cardiologists and had tilt table test, echocardiogram, stress tests etc...etc.. but still no diagnosis doctor has suggested stopping bisoprolol and see if symptoms improve had palpatations at times
