2024.11.26 17:30 Deathwantsme369 Good adventures that last 3-5 levels?

Our group just started earlier this year. Our DM wants to work on a campaign, and I want to give them a break from DMing while they work and let them play as a PC. What are some solid adventures that run 3-5 levels?
Thanks so much!

2024.11.26 17:30 HorrorxXxGirl Never Did Find My Motel Room

High up in the Arizona mountains where one could find a swelling of fir trees growing thicker and thicker the more one traveled down the barely beaten path of Route 66 was an old motel. The Downtowner Inn was quite lofty for a town seeped in a rich history of wild and rugged cowboys and Indians, the history of the town was what made it one of my favourite towns along Route 66. My great, great, great, and so on grandfather had founded the town, and ended the dislike of the Natives in the area, by marrying a Native woman. I often found myself staying at the Downtowner Inn in the mid-2000s. The next time I found myself there was years later during my honeymoon. My marriage had put me into poverty but a little above the level of dire want, lucky for my new husband my dream honeymoon was a trip down Route 66, I had been pretty okay with not getting my dream wedding; never once made him feel bad as I buried the fallen dream behind the stones of walls, amongst the overgrown vegetation, under the dry and dusty dirt of my ill-paved mind, but I was pretty gung ho on my dream honeymoon, and he was gung ho on giving me at least that, and one day six months later we climbed into the rat-eaten van, and took off for Route 66, and I made sure he knew to stop at the Downtowner Inn. My new husband complained and wailed about how much a room had left his wallet in ruin, but I paid him little to no mind. The room hadn’t cost the same as my dream wedding, not even close, but the look and size of the room seemed to temper the complaints from him. Within the walls of the room, was a huge bed that could afford four adults a good night’s rest, a massive wide screen and flat screen TV upon the wall, and a hot tub in the bathroom. My new husband had never known a hotel this nice. He and his step-father often stayed at a resort in Las Vegas, South Pointe, which wished it could be nearly as nice as the Downtowner; we sat down together looking at my phone, picking a place to eat dinner at, and we decided to eat at a pizza place a few blocks away, and he grabbed my hands. He apologized for complaining about the price, and that after dinner, maybe we should try for a family. I was over the moon, I had always wanted a baby. We came back to the room and opened the boxes of our pizzas. That night, after being ridden like nothing more than a common horse in a barn, I decided that I needed a bath, but he warned me against taking one. I was confounded by such a warning and asked why he was falling into a shade of melancholy. He had told her they shouldn’t have done what they had done. He had seemed so excited to try for a baby, and I had been so excited too, but he pulled the rug out from under me. This wasn’t the first time he had pulled something such as this; we had tried for children before, but every time we had, he’d give me medicine, a single pill, a pill that would cause me to miscarry the child in my womb; sometimes he’d make me wait a couple of months before changing his mind. As we had pulled into town we had passed a pharmacy. He demanded I go out into the cold and pick up the pill that would undoubtedly make me miscarry, so we wouldn’t be able to welcome a red-faced squalling newborn into the world; I reminded him that I didn’t drive, but he didn’t care as he rolled over and went to sleep, farting. I rolled my eyes and screwed my mouth to the side, and left the warmth of the room for the frigid winter night, and began to walk down the street. The contents of the drugstore were nothing of note, it was little to no different than the ones in California. I found the pill, the very pill that would keep my dream from coming true, I paid for the pill and left the store. I went back to the Downtowner, what was neat about the motel was that it spanned both sides of Route 66. Our room was on the left side, room number eighteen, my favourite number; the only way to get to my old hometown was by taking Highway 18, and eighteen quickly became a favourite, or lucky, number of mine. I saw rooms seven through seventeen, but where room eighteen had been wasn’t there, I crossed the street, thinking maybe I had gotten turned around. I knew I hadn’t, the rooms went from seven to seventeen, on the other side, the suites side, it would go from one to six. I crossed the street and found that I was right, one through six. The idea to go to the lobby did enter my mind, but so as not to seem stupid to the old lady who ran the inn I ran back across the street. I needed to be proved wrong; I needed to feel stupid and silly, to have passed over room eighteen. But across the street, I was thrown into the wildest confusion of the vanishment of room eighteen, it was not there. My chest had become an airless place, stuck full of icy-hot pins and needles. I hadn’t been wrong, but in the addles of my frantic brain, an idea invaded my thoughts, we hadn’t been assigned to a room that didn’t exist. I was certain we had been in room eighteen, but it wasn’t here and a momentary lapse of crazed despair was better than a brain going ill, but what room had we been given? I swept my eyes over the largely unused parking lot, and not seeing our van. I decided to turn away from the lot and make my way to the lowly abode of the motel office, maybe the owner could point me in the right direction. I opened the door to hear the excited chatter on a small TV behind the counter, and a young blond woman watching it as if it were going out of style to watch TV. She was snacking on crackers from a cellophane package, and sipping soda from a paper cup. I slowly advanced to the counter, gathering her attention and asked which room she had checked my husband and me into. She was a big blonde girl with great soft cardiganed breasts and gently rotting teeth. “Your last name is Parker? I do not see any room rented to anyone named Parker.” I was shocked at the words she had spoken, so much so I leapt backwards, her words could not be true for we had checked into the motel mere hours ago! I told her we had checked in, we had been given room eighteen, and now it was no longer there! She almost seemed shocked at my words as there was never any trace of such a room, and that I must be thinking of a different motel. While I knew she was mistaken as there was no way we hadn’t checked into the Downtowner, I thanked her, and went up and down the main drag of Williams, trying to find room eighteen. I never found room eighteen, and years afterwards, I’m still haunted by that fact, never checked into another motel and the girl at the counter kept to her story of there never having been a room eighteen.

2024.11.26 17:30 Tobee_or_not_tobee Should we move grades?

Our December born child is currently in KG. His pre school head of school had pushed us a lot to get him admitted to first grade and skip KG coz he had done a lot of that and was generally said to be “smart”. I missed early application deadlines etc and the school was unable to enroll him in first grade directly. At the beginning of school year he did very well on the reading and math test (second grade level on both) and behaviosocial skills wise also the teacher has no concerns. The recommendation from the teacher and principal is to move him to first grade for the second half of school year and have him move up to second grade next fall.
I agree with them that KG is probably not challenging or engaging him much (and he has voiced that too). But would moving his grades in this way hamper his confidence, ability to make friends or academic performance in any way?
I would love to get some inputs from parents and teachers here so we can take that into account while making the best decision for him.

2024.11.26 17:30 PettyWitch Does a lot of GenZ not know what South Park is?

I'm a 38 year old and I can't help but notice that whenever I've brought up a South Park joke at work (I work with a lot of young guys in their early 20s, as I'm a software developer), they say they've never watched South Park. It stuns me. We work with a man who sounds exactly like Mr. Mackey and none of my young coworkers knew what the hell I was talking about.

2024.11.26 17:30 ImLiterallySoTired91 Imposter Syndrome of an older student.

Hey everyone!! So I made the decision at the beginning of the year to start studying for the LSAT. Hook, line, and sinker is I’m 33. So I am considered an “adult learner”, whatever that means. I have a career already but my gosh, there is this huge part of me that is telling me to do this law school thing. My cup is overflowing with excitement for it. However, I am having the hardest time registering to take the test. First it was October, then November, now January, and now I’m sitting here with the February test date in my cart?? Which is freaking risky knowing I want to apply this cycle.
I’m curious has anyone else felt like they can’t just click the button and do it!? Am I just being ridiculous?
For reference I am averaging a 163-165 on my practice tests at this point…
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has struggled with this!

2024.11.26 17:30 Ok-Efficiency5486 Name your best and worst experience meeting a famous lead singer or band.

My best experience ever, has to be Mick Mars and James Taylor. Two of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Worst, by far, is Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx. Worst honorable mentions is Michael Stipe and Gene Simmons. They were the rudest jerks I’ve ever met.

2024.11.26 17:30 QueenieB33 Dead Skin Residue

Hey all! So, I'm looking for a bathtub cleaner that will remove that dry, rough dead skin residue around the bathtub sides in one step with as little extra work as possible. I'm disabled so something I could spray on and then just rinse or wipe off would be great. I've seen the baking soda/white vinegar recipe, but I'm really hoping for a store bought "one and done" type deal. Thanks!
