As a kid in the early-to-mid 90s, I remember going to the Children's Museum and seeing a replica of a Japanese kid's bedroom - I remember being fascinated by it since it was basically supposed to belong to a kid my age, just from the other side of the planet.
It was not the "Japanese House" they have now; that's a 100 year old fancy house. This was like, a contemporary kid's bedroom that would be in a Tokyo apartment. I think there was even like, a nintendo system and a radio in the room

Local recorded deaths of neighbors experiencing homelessness tragically keep going up.
In 2016, it was 19; 2017, 27; 2018, 37; 2019, 39; 2020, 49; 2021, 57; and 2022, 98.
In 2023, 135 people experiencing homelessness died in Washoe County, according to official data, marking the eighth consecutive new high since these records were kept.
Of those 135 fatalities, nine were ruled as homicides, and another eight were listed as undetermined.
Behind each number is the story of a person – somebody’s child, someone’s brother or sister, and someone’s friend. One such woman was Amy Elaine Allen.
On July 20, 2023, at 5:23 p.m., Reno police responded to a 911 call of an apparent stabbing near the train tracks and East Commercial Row. Emergency personnel arrived on site, but Allen, 38, died at the scene.
According to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office, Allen’s cause of death was listed as “sharp force injuries of the neck and chest.”
Amy Allen’s life was not just stolen from her, but on that evening she was also taken from her children, her mother and father, her siblings and her grandchild. No one has been arrested for her murder yet, and months later, her family is left still looking for answers.
She was stabbed to death just two days after an encampment near the train tracks was swept by police, throwing her life in disarray.

Sometimes my wife and kiddo are in my bedroom and I feel bad/guilty about making them be quiet when I need to do voice over tracks, I do have a separate office where I work from home but I cant exactly unplug my massive Desktop PC and haul it back and forth
My question is what would be the ultimate solution(ease of use, productivity) if money wasn't a factor if I wanted to do some work in 1 room and some work on my main rig and then Alternatively what would be the cheapest solution that would still work but maybe not be as convienent?
On my main rig i have an RTX 4080, 14900K and 64GB DDR5 6000
I do have some spare parts lying around from an old i9 10900K, Asus Maximus Hero XII mobo, 32 GB DDR4, and an old tower but Id need a GPU and Storage and then Im not sure hownId share projects between the rigs.
Ive thought of getting a 5090 on release and throwing the 4080 in the backup
Any thoughts on this?

2024.11.26 18:30 -0773H- What could happen if a character had darkness/shadow manipulation (Umbrakinesis)
I'm making a magical girl universe and one of the MC's is a villain who controls shadows/darkness. I think it's such a cool idea but Idk what physical effects it could have. Like shadows by nature can't be physical so what damage would it actually do.
I'm thinking of making it more psychological pain I've got a couple reasons for this. 1. The world is based of instruments and since he's gonna be a pianist it would be sick if the entire room goes dark and he just plays the most dramatic music whilst the heroes are powerless.
- The other group members are alot more violent their weapons are: A violin that turns into a longbow, and a guitar which he bonks people on the head with lol. This character however is the only one who's instrument isn't also a weapon so it would be a nice difference.
