2024.11.26 20:16 marinaramamba19 Buying a house with downdraft gas cooktop - solution?
I'm in the process of buying a house that has a downdraft gas cooktop that has a faulty ignitor. I've never used a downdraft cooktop, but I'm seeing people on here don't love them. I don't know what the current duct system is like in the ceiling, so I don't know how big of a project it would be to add an island hood.
I figured before I committed to repairing the ignitor, I'd explore other options, including a vent-less induction cooktop, or possibly the island hood.
Anybody have any experience here? Are downdrafts really that bad? If there isn't any existing ductwork near the island, is it a nightmare to put in a hood? Any other thoughts?

I have a 2015 nissan rogue. It stopped turning on one night, except for the immobilizer light on the dashboard (the red symbol with the key in the car). Everything else shut off, I couldn’t even lock the doors. I checked if it was a problem with the battery or the key fob and nope, they were good.
So when my dad’s friend with a tow truck came to take it to the shop, he checked under the hood to try to find the problem. 15 minutes later my car was running and he said it was an issue with the fuse that he was able to fix right there. He had left before I was able to ask him what exactly was wrong, so now I’m here. Does anyone know what exactly he did, and what the problem could have been?
