2024.11.26 22:30 Mole-1103 How to deal with poor leadership?
Not really sure where to begin. Over 2 years ago my corporate job took over another region that had a satellite office. We were given a week to learn everything before they were let go. Transition wasn’t perfect but we’ve come a long way.
Fast forward 2 years management is a mess. We’re split into separate divisions, I’m in one of the two from the takeover. We’re kept in a back room to fend for ourselves. I’m not someone who likes to watch things crumble so I started helping strictly my team by stepping up. I’m not a manger but I convinced the team of 12 to change certain work processes and we saw great improvement and lowered stress. The main pain point we always have is sales. They never listen, we understand that’s a given but damn these people are the bane of everything.
Our managers kept saying, “Oh just add us in the emails and we’ll help” they never do. We’re given guidelines to meet but because they never have our backs we fall short and then get told to do better and let us know how they can help. Just repeats.
I gathered tons of examples back in September and provided analytical feedback on each issue. I took it above both my manger and director to our president per our open door policy. He wasn’t happy and asked them to fix it.
In late Septmeber we had our yearly reviews. I was told I’m the best examples in solo worker, team player, and team supporter. But was told I’m highly toxic when it comes to communication, I know I’m hard on sales but I have to push back on illegal stuff they try to push in transportation. I asked for specific examples and how I can improve. They said they couldn’t provide any. They then went on and both began to cry (literally) because I went above them and didn’t trust them to fix our issues.
A 5 min meeting turned into an hour. My manager said, “if only been in this position 6 months. I haven’t had time to learn everything. You can’t hold me accountable.” I explained everything high and low of what needed fixed/how to and how their communication has to be backed. That if you say we will support you, you have to mean it or the team will fall. It got fixed and a few changes implemented that lasted barely a month. Monthly meetings never happened, 32 training hours added on top of our jobs.
Now November we’re having the same repeat issues. I keep telling the team to go to them face to face since I can’t say anything without being “toxic.” Changes are being made without communication, I asked today if I missed an email or something and now my director says I have something out for them because I provided the meeting PowerPoint they gave us for guidelines. I stated I will escalate to HR if needed because we just discussed this a month ago
I get I could leave but I can’t afford it with my family. I’ve been applying to jobs left and right with no luck

hello guys. not a big rant today or even a rant i guess mostly just want to get me feelings out and see if anyone else relates.
it seems like everyone else has a tight knit crew that gets along with everyone and i don’t really feel that way. i think people at work appreciate me in the sense that like i do my job and im not bad at it but it seems like everytime i try to bring the energy and have a good time on the floor people get annoyed.
now i wouldn’t be so butthurt if maybe im just too energetic for people, but others either make the same jokes as me, or sing the same silly songs as me, or are as annoying as me and they are loved by everyone. so like wtf is up with that?? also when i am more toned down, i wouldn’t say im in a bad mood just more quiet because it seems like there’s nothing to talk about at work or im tired i get pulled aside to talk about my attitude with. when im a decent amount of energy people still take that as either too little or too much. it’s just frustrating i guess.
i am also autistic so im aware that maybe im just off putting or something idk it’s still saddening tho. sometimes i wanna transfer but i work at one of the best stores in the city so i don’t want to give that up either. i guess ill just. be mediocre

I have an interview next week for a Grants Mgmt Specialist position and looking for some insight on a conundrum... One of my references has become an issue, my current "supervisor". It's a union vs management battle and I'm on the executive board of our union. I haven't done anything personally against him, but I'm no longer confident I want him called as a reference.
So, what the thought here? I'm thinking I should mention my concerns about this particular reference, maybe give a brief explanation why and offer a new reference. Otherwise, just cross my fingers and hope my supervisor doesn't throw me under the bus?

Hi folks,
I've just received my R36s and spent a while flashing the latest ArkOS onto a Samsung SD card - a big thank you to the community for their guides.
I just need to copy the ROMs over, but my questions is this:
Do I go with a copy and paste of the ROMs on the stock SD card or go for retro arcade/easy roms which I've found on archive.org?
There's some old childhood & obscure games I like on the stock SD card but not sure if the ROM files themself suck and will get corrupt even if copied to the new card.
Likewise with the retro arcade I can't seem to find a game list anywhere and was wondering if anyone has experience of this?
Looking forward to seeing what else I can do down the line!
