My partner gave me permission to ask this question on their behalf. Long story short, we are having a tough time sufficiently describing their experience and I believe it is costing them the opportunity for interviews.
Background: My partner works at a small company (4 locations about 350 employees). My partner has a very intense work ethic and this was recognized by the CFO. My partner started as a receptionist, but they were then paid (by the CFO) to obtain an accounts payable certification. After achieving the certification, they were then trained to assume the role of accounts payable managecoordinator. This has been their position for just over a year now. They manage the accounts payable pipeline for all of the locations. They handle communication with vendors, payment prioritization, employee expenses, you name it. Because of the size of the company, my partner handles a wide array of tasks that would usually be outside the scope of an entry level AP/AR type role. My partner loves this work, and would very much like to continue in this area (but we are moving).
The problem is that we do not know the best way to articulate this experience. I believe my partner is quickly being dismissed by potential employers based on the length of the experience. Specifically, for positions that have listed responsibilities that are far fewer than their current role, and much narrower in scope. I’m wondering if there is any way to get around this. Perhaps I am being unrealistic and the experience is just the experience (simple as that), but it really feels like if my partner was able to at least get interviews they would have a chance to display their depth. Also, upper management has gone out of their way to draft letters of recommendation, and they have been vocal about being willing to speak with potential employers. I would appreciate any commentary and insight, thanks.

Yeah, this is a dumb question, but to be fair, I barely understand everything in the orientation because I am deaf. There is no interpreter, but that is not important right now.
I pulled my back pretty badly and called in today, and I don't think I will be able to go to work tomorrow either. Because I work as meat and produce associate which requires me to lift often, esp those pallets in the morning. Would it result in me receiving points? I only started working there almost 4 weeks ago. I am nervous about this, and I do not want to get fired. My back muscle spasms prevent me from working. I went to urgent care and received muscle relaxants. They said my injury would probably last a few days. I have Thursday-Saturday off, which will give me time to rest before returning to work on Sunday. Thankfully.
Can anyone give me advice or reassurance? I honestly do not understand how points and absence work.

hi there! my family and I will be traveling to costa rica in less than 2 weeks and we are trying to put a trip together last minute. we have about 10 days -- there are two seniors (one who with knee issues) and two of us younger folk. we will be flying into liberia, but other than that, have a pretty open schedule. I've been seeing that the arsenal volcano national park and la fortuna are highly recommended. do these places generally have easier hikes for those who aren't able to walk much? what else would you recommend for a half-active and half-not-so-active group?

I saw on here after starting the offer that the goals update at a specific time for some people. I’ve been experiencing the same thing where the goals will track around 12 am EST or a little after. This may cause you to miss the bonus goals of reaching London in 1 day and Miami in 2 days because after completing it the time limit will continue to count down until the goal is tracked hours later. However, if you finish the bonus goal with let’s say 8 hours to spare, but it doesn’t track until 9 hours later then it’ll show as expired because the system doesn’t realize you’ve completed it already. I did the offer on mypoints and even with proof, support claimed that I didn’t complete those two goals in time.

2024.11.26 22:30 wanerAM CPU Choice for both editing AND gaming pc?
I'm rebuilding my pc after a long time only keeping the previous power supply and case. I do play some games and intend to have the pc work for future games but mainly need it for editing right now, mostly After Effects, Premiere and maybe some 3d work. My budget is roughly 1700$, i think the 4070s is the most suitable card, 32gb of ram seems suitable etc.
What i'm stuck with is the CPU. I'm leaning towards AMD and have been looking mostly at the ryzen 9, e.g the 7950x, the 7900x3d but also the 7950x3d (which i find pretty expensive). I've also been looking at the new Ryzen 7 9800x3d and the 7800x3d which everyone seems to be recommending for gaming.
I've tried reading up on all of them but can't quite make sense of what would be the best choice for both gaming and editing / rendering. Please make it make sense for me. Anything i should avoid, something i've missed?
