2024.11.26 22:41 MLantto It took us 8 attempts by we finally beat scenario 64 on the highest difficulty!
It came down to the last possible attack but we finally did it after having the boss down to 40 and 60 as our best previous attempts!
The step from lvl 6 to lvl 7 is just so incredibly steep. Going from 240 to 320 HP with retaliate 3 on every attack is huge 😳
Our party for every attempt was Trap + Meteor + Snowflake + Shards at lvl 9 and Frosthaven at prosperity 9. Its not the first thing you think of when creating a power party, but it was the most successful for us of all we had during the campaign. The synergies between them are amazing if you collaborate well. Complete control of movement and brittle on command to use with traps high single target damage. Snowflakes push/pull action consistently do 16-20 damage in shot with the amount of hazardous terrain she could create together with meteor and was key for dealing with the spawning bugs in the last room. We've had some debates if this is the best possible party for the scenario, but I least think it's close.
Im just really proud that we did it and didn't give up, even if we were close at times!
I'm curious if anyone else have attempted or succeeded and what your party has been like?

I don't remember when, but starting during pregnancy and post partum until now, my wife has been issuing commands to me instead of making a request. For example "turn on the oven" instead of "can you turn on the oven?". Sometimes I'd make the exception if we're in the middle of something and both of us are moving around, e.g., loading up the kids to the car, and then she'd say "get the bag too".
Before marriage, she'd at least san "can you do" or "do x for me" or "do x please", but now just "do x". I've confronted her and she said she'd try to change, but it's starting to bother me more and more. I'm practicing stoicism and not reacting to her rude requests (I used to snap and set a boundary but she'd get angry at me snapping, forcing me to apologize instead. this sounds like DARVO).
Funny enough, we do ask our kids to make request politely. Even my wife would correct them, e.g., my son:"apple juice!" wife:"we don't say it like that. say it with me -- mom can you get me apple juice please?"
We've been seeing a couples counselor for 1.5 years but usually during the session, we'd just vent about the last fight, and nothing changes.
She comes from a wealthy (8 figures net worth) but divorced family. Her dad raised her, and then from college onwards, she went NC with dad and has been talking only to her malignant narcissistic mom. The mom has been with a new partner for 10+ years now which she treats like a slave -- he drives, cooks, talks to people, gets her water, etc. I unfortunately didn't see this happening too obviously before the marriage; I think they purposely were hiding anything too obvious. Before then I thought her partner was a well-spoken, honorable man. I only saw the extent of the relationship when we had our baby and they stayed for a month (of which they didn't help at all and instead just wanted to "play" and "observe"). Before I told my wife that her mom may be a narcissist, she idolized her mom -- but now she hates her and just wants her share of the inheritance (at the same time still playing "nice"). Now I can see that my wife is probably trying to treat me the same way as how her mom treats her slave partner.
About myself. I'm a nerdy software engineer. I have social anxiety and have no friends in the current city we live in. Also not muscular. I had suicidal ideation due to the constant verbal abuse and DARVO, but after seeing some therapist and seeing the patterns, I've become numb and desensitized.
Regarding finances, I make about half a mil in California, which is only enough to cover our monthly expenses with little savings (yes, the mortgage is huge due to crazy housing prices). She has a couple of millions in her bank account (NPD mom insists that this can't be used and it's only a "loan"), which she doesn't take out money from in a regular basis, but in a pinch when my account goes to 0 (literally; probably once every 2-3 months), she'd take out a couple of thousand to help out. She also uses her own money to pay for expensive furnitures from RH which I don't want anything to do with.
Regarding housework/chores, she cooks, cleans, and folds. I'm in charge of the dishwasher, and 50/50 on cleaning up toys, vacuuming, bringing clothes to the laundry for washing and drying. I work from home 10-4.30pm, and I'd usually pick up the kids from school. From 4.30pm - 8pm we both do kids stuff (go to the park, prep for dinner, clean up, shower the kids, bedtime). I work for another hour afterwards. She usually makes the kids' plans, and packs the stuff.
Sex is ok. I prefer once a week and she'd usually agree to do it after we wake up. At nights she usually says that she's "tired".
Since I can't change my wife, I'm thinking about what I can do to make the situation better. Things I'm thinking of doing:
- Exercise and become more muscular
- Become more social at parent events
- Get away from home once in a while (I otherwise work from home). Maybe take up rock climbing
- Plan one family vacation (to start with)
- Learn how to pack kids stuff

I have been playing this game since it came out on Xbox. I have the XS in my living room and I also play on my phone with my Backbone. I have been looking to get a second system to play games in my room too and not have to lug my XS back and forth from the living room. Jumped on the chance to get a XB1 on marketplace and went for it on impulse today. I get home and realize I can’t play Death Stranding on XB1. How is it that I can play on my phone but not an Xbox One S!?! Is there any way around this? Like can I mirror my downstairs Xbox like I do with my phone on the XB1?
